I’m pleasantly surprised. To be honest, I came into this video with pretty low expectations. While I wasn’t exactly WOWED by anything here, I was able to find some things I would be happy with. What I really appreciate is how they try to be creative in their offerings in order to make each dish look inviting. There’s effort made here, and that is promising. I think the lobster rolls, even for what they are, are definitely a nice touch. 👌 But that’s exactly what the buffet concept is all about. Lots of variety, where everyone can find something to enjoy. I still can’t help looking back at a Celebrity cruise buffet you did a couple of years ago. That one set a very high standard. I know I mention my experience on Royal Caribbean all the time, but that one stands out to me as the *worst* example of what cruise buffets are supposed to be 😂. I would be very interested to see if they’ve made any improvements since a year and a half ago. So bottom line, MSC buffet doesn’t even compare to how Celebrity was, but they definitely blow Royal Caribbean out of the water for me, so I give MSC a thumbs up! I 100% understand the feeling. The place I've eaten the worst was on Symphony of the Seas. Me and husband don't even consider the possibility of returning on a Royal Cruise.

@@barbarasiqueira9533 I have never heard anything good about the food scene on the Symphony. My bad food experience was on the Harmony last year. The MDR was sorta “Meh,” but the buffet was absolutely appalling.

Thank you very much Scott! 😊 MSC had some duds but some pleasant surprises too, especially that seafood buffet with lobster rolls. Yeah that Celebrity Apex buffet was quite excellent in both quality and selection. Royal has increased their prices a lot so hopefully they've also improved their food quality as well. Hopefully we get to sail with them again next year.

Great video. I would have to say that there were a lot of dishes that looked really good but there was a certain lack of presentation on their part. I would agree that they have made some progress on the food.

Great video as always! Looks like MSC is trying to up their game on food. For the price of an MSC cruise this looks good. I loved the Buffet on Princess, especially that they were open all the time. Appreciate you posting the MSC Buffet hours. Do MSC have any options for included food, snacks, pizza when the Buffet is closed, especially after 9pm?? Thanks!

Thank you very much Christian! 😊 Yeah we thought MSC improved their food quality a lot. They really had to to compete in the US market. The value proposition is there for sure as it's possible that one can buy both a drinks & specialty dining package and still pay less vs the basic fare of some of the other lines. MSC did keep their grill and pizza areas open until 10 PM and 2 AM, respectively. They also had a little midnight snacks buffet from 11 PM to 1 AM- we'll be doing a short video on that one.

@@TravelTouristVideos That is really great info! Thanks! I will look forward to that video, too. Really loved the two cruises on Anthem. They have a few more food and coffee options than the smaller ships, 270 Cafe, etc. Princess had really good food, but the entertainment didn’t compare to Royal. It was an older crowd (that isn’t a bad thing of course) but the vibe was very different. The lovely crew were mostly polite and helpful, just not as upbeat as Royal. I’m going to give MSC a try. People from all over Europe, the UK and Ireland on all three of these last cruise into and out of Southampton all said they enjoyed Royal and Princess and would cruise both again, but felt their cruises out of the UK were pricey and MSC gave more bang for the buck as you also noted. I have status with Royal and you get some nice perks, going on them again Orlando to Lisbon via Perfect Day and the Canaries in Oct. I’m going on MSC in Europe next year. Thanks again!

I didn't think much of the food had any eye appeal. Seems to be all brown or pale tan in color. I didn't think the cooks took a lot of time ...could have wiped the casserole dish rims before baking. I guess buffets might not be my thing cause also the desserts look messy. I know with people helping themselves that this is going to happen, but still for me, it is off-putting. But, Joanne looked wonderful as usual.

The most important thing is all of these aren't hygiene at all from keeping, cooking, and serving. I am ex crew member of MSC discrimination, slavery, racist cruise company in the world.

@@TravelTouristVideos i have been working on MSC cruises for 11 contracts 11 years. Always found disrespectful and toxic managers, officers and captains. Even HR is doesn't care crew members , HR is secure and protects the toxicity, discrimination, racist and slavery managers and a whole company.

We were able to get this 7 night cruise for the 3 of us in a balcony cabin for a little less than 2K including tax.

So many positive and negative opinions about MSC food and MSC in general. I would find it disappointing to discover a buffet repeating items after five nights. Though there’s plenty of variety each evening, there is no excuse to not have a seven (or more) day rotation. The pizzas all looked absolutely horrific. Especially the “Chicago Style.” Best pizza on the seas IMO is Alfredo’s on Princess.

Perhaps they also do 5 day cruises which would make sense with the seafood buffet on day 4 which would be next-to-last night for a 5 day. MSC had really great pizza on our first time with them which was on the Divina, but yes the pizza here were pretty average. Though a big improvement otherwise vs the Divina from years ago. Yeah we thought MSC was much better than our previous cruise with them from 6 years ago. Some guests we spoke to who had gone with them less than a year ago said they had recently improved their food.
