Thanks so much for doing this, I have an up coming first cruise on MSC seaside and heard there was a fun pass but had no info so this was great at least I have some idea and know that I should purchase it before going on board to save some money. Also I heard you had to go somewhere to book (say for example the bowling lane) but I didn’t know if it was available days in advance or just the day of and didn’t know where to reserve these? so very helpful again. And surprisingly still pertinent information five years later, I don’t think the prices per activity have changed . The only part I noticed had changed is they only offer one option now which is the $80 to get 140 credit if you buy ahead of time or pre-cruise. Thank you
I liked the way cruise ships used to be, paid and all was included except the spa. Now it’s all nickel and dime guest so that it becomes to complicated.
henry rosa lol old ships did not have all of the amenities these ships have.... it’s literally the same thing with added extras which you can chose to pay for or not. Pools still free, gym still free basketball/tennis deck games still free. Shows still free..... what are you complaining about ?
The best way to get everything included with MSC is to cruise in their Yacht Club. With the Yacht Club, just about everything is included (except the spa and any excursions; liquor, gelato, zip line, all of that is included). There is so much more to the YC too; it's worth your time to research.
As others have mentioned the cost of these extra activities seem to be a little overboard (excuse the pun). It's disappointing to see cruise lines adding extra costs to these types of entertainment. Especially ones that are aimed at kids. (or the young at heart) Although they look fun I wonder by charging is it a way to control the crowd knowing full well that some people won't want to dish out the extra money.
Hi Sherri and Mr cttv any thoughts for a future episode geared towards how cruising has changed over the past 20-25 years . it might be a great topic to go back and show the changes since then.
Absolutely- love it and we may go back. a little farther! I may post on our different platforms to get some input from people and funny stories about days gone by. Watch for it! I’d love to hear yours.
Hmmmm....🤔 interesting!! Possibly an inexpensive cruise for a family until you pay for all the stuff your child/teen wants to do onboard!! It wouldn’t apply to me - I wouldn’t be interested in any of it (I might like bowling, but not for that price)! And with the area not being open all the time - must be busy/crowded when it is open (and you better get there first thing in the morning when they open to get a reservation for that day)! For a family with a few children the cost would add up quickly!
I wonder: If one does not get the opportunity to spend the balance of the fun pass, can one get a refund of the amount paid and not used at the end of the cruise? (Minus the bonus)
When booked in YC are these items lncluded? Not to much info on website. I guess it would get pretty busy with limited hours being open. Something to think about.
Everything about MSC seems so complicated. Everything from the cabins to food to entertainment has different tiers, inclusions, pricing, etc. I'm not anxious to try this line.
