We sailed MSC Meraviglia in January 2024 out of the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in New York and we captured the check-in and boarding process to give you a look at how the Yacht Club process differs from the standard cruise check-in we’re all used to.

My husband and I have been teetering on the edge of booking YC on Seascape (SO excited she is coming here to Galveston!!) and I think this video might have just tipped us over to locking it down. 😀 We have been devouring all your Jubilee videos (just 46 more days!!) and now we're anxiously waiting for y'all to put out the rest of your YC vids. Lots of guests onboard who've done the Haven said YC is way better. Only exception- food quality.

Just got off the Meraviligia last Thursday after 11 days in Yacht Club. Loved all the Crew! Met the beautiful Irish and were friends on Facebook, now. Loved Raj...Darryn, Sumit and Irish kept the drinks in FULL FLOW around the pool. 🎉

Fantastic! So glad to hear that! We got to see some of our favorite crew in the Yacht Club last week as well. But it was very brief since we weren’t staying in that exclusive area.

Love, love, love this ship! I have yet to try Yacht Club, but it's on the bucket list. However, we are Diamond with MSC and the embarkation process was absolutely flawless! I can't speak highly enough about the process.

Hi is the yatch club dinning menus different from the reg dinning menus ( dinner ) ?

They are modified for the Top Sail Restaurant. There are some similar items each night between TSR and the Main Dining Room, but then also enhanced items for the Yacht Club.

@@davidwatson7544 great question! They do not. However the beds have large enough space under them for you to be able to slide your empty pieces of luggage underneath so you can still enjoy a clean and tidy room!

I've never been on MSC. How do you "qualify" for the Yacht Club? Is it by cabin or level of loyalty?

GREAT question - and something that we should have mentioned in the video: *anyone* can book a Yacht Club stateroom! These are, as you can imagine, the most expensive rooms on the ship due to their location, exclusivity, and benefits. We originally booked a general balcony stateroom, but got an offer to bid for an upgrade to the Yacht Club. We maxed out our bid and our offer was accepted!! That was a very happy day for Rocky and me. :) Thank you for watching and the question!

So at 9.15am there was standard category guests in line already?.Or were those people all YC? I'm planning to arrive around 10am. We're staying 2 nights over in Brooklyn when we arrive. We live in Spain. Weve been to Manhattan 6 times and done 5 cruises from NYC, including the Meraviligia, but this will be our first time in YC! So excited 😊❤❤

Oh wow! It’s definitely going to be a treat! There were about 10 people ahead of us in the YC check-in line for security, off in the distance there’s a mob of people waiting for general check-in/security. Hope you have an amazing cruise! @thiscruiselife We did! We arrived 10.30am in our limo and we were in the TOP Sail Lounge by 11.00am. We managed a quick slurp of champagne and some pringles before we were escorted from the terminal waiting zone. Litterally, we had no time to assimilate things. My head was spinning ! All of us YC GUESTS were so excited. We made friends for life onboard. We're from southern Spain and made friends with a couple from New Jersey and a lady from Arizona. Lovely time. I'm just shattered from the jet lag home, now. I need another cruise!😂❤

Ps. When we referred to the " out side" parts of the ships public areas, we called it "The Gen-Pop!" LOL.. 'Let's go see the Gen Pop bars tonight.'

The food in the Yacht Club was definitely elevated. There were still dishes that we loved and didn't love. We're working on a full review of the dinners from each night in the Yacht Club's Top Sail Restaurant. Stay tuned to the channel!

We actually captured the entire process so that we could create a blog post for cruisers that may be looking for options. Ride shares were expensive when we looked, so we mapped it all out ahead of time. We flew into JFK and then took the train to the subway and walked two blocks to the hotel. On sail-away morning, we took a ride share from the hotel, but on debarkation morning, we took the NYC ferry from Brooklyn. We had to walk a couple blocks, but from the ferry stop we were able to hop on the subway to the airport. Hope that answers your question! :)

Believe it or not Brooklyn is probably the worst place to experience YC onboarding. PC, Miami, and most European locations offer a significantly better experience. As MSC continue to grow its presence in Brooklyn I’d expect it to evolve and get better!

I think it made the chopping block, but originally I commented in this video how I was surprised there wasn't more branding, artwork, etc. - it was just a bland cruise terminal with somewhat uncomfortable chairs. Don't get me wrong, it was still the best embark process we've ever experienced, by quite a wide margin; it just didn't feel super fancy in the terminal. I'd love to experience this in Miami! Maybe when we get some channel sponsors. LOL ;)

@@timdalewagWe've been watching that terminal being built. It'll be interesting to see how it looks when done as they are bragging that they'll be able to dock two ships there at a time - I can't imagine one building handling 2 boarding simultaneously. But yes, the Yacht Club embark experience should be fantastic!
