MSD 2 Step on 5.3 TAHOE [PN 8733] 

also comes with aluminum suspension compared to cast or boxed steel, Air ducts to cool down the front brakes, and is a few inches lower compared to stock. gives it a lower center of gravity for better cornering.. Everything combined makes this big & heavy Tahoe handle like you're driving a compact car

@@GTsPerformance I have a shift knob with a 12v momentary button in the side from speed dawg and it has a black wire coming out of the bottom not two connections like your switch how would I wire this up with the blue wire?

@Mason Wheatley it's just one wire, it's probably getting ground from the metal on the actual shifter. You can use a test light to confirm.. Gator clip on power(+) and test light on the shift knob wire.. should light up. If that's the case, simply connect that wire to the (blue) ground coming from the msd box (instead of the power like I used)

@@GTsPerformance get ahold of a phone app called LS droid,a computer program called Tuner Pro RT and something called OBDlink Lx.Will get you up and tuning for 60 bucks.Theres another computer program called PChammer that allows even more customization.Theres some awesome videos explaining it all in detail

I had it on my 2010 Tahoe with long tubes, catless y pipe, Carven TR exhaust and cutout and the thing was sick. Breaking necks all year long. Got tired of it so I just pulled the exhaust off and I’m about to sell my 2 step soon, same one in this video.

I wanted to put a cutoff and keep the magnaflow, but it's really tight on space. Unless I move the magnaflow to where the spare tire goes..🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm looking at shorty headers. I know long tubes give more hp at higher speeds, but I prefer fitment. What I'm trying to figure out is either delete the cats or gut them out.. the 2step is something I want to keep messing with, but I need to get rid of the cats first. I like the idea of the cutout also

You can get rid of them but you’ll need a tune in order to pass inspection. I had long tubes and catless y pipe with a Carven exhaust and a quick time performance 3 inch cutout. Breaking necks all day every day!

Yea, I don't think the wheels have the sensors. I installed new tires not too long ago. CEL was there before, and still on now 🤷🏻‍♂️

It's not a turning thing. The tpms system runs off of sensors in the wheel. You can get them for $100 a piece or less and almost every tire shop has a tool to calibrate tpms sensors. If you hold the lock and unlock button down on the key fob it will trigger the tpms learning system on those chevys and the horn will honk twice then once for every wheel that's calibrated, 2 more times when finished. You can only do it with a tpms tool.

I know I can turn off the CEL with an ELM327 bluetooth scanner.. but tbh, I don't know about the TPMS. as far as I've heard, you Need the sensors or get used to having that light on. Some ppl can't run those sensors on certain aftermarket wheels.. so the solution is to carry the sensors inside the car so that the computer can detect them nearby. I could be wrong, but 🤷🏻‍♂️ I guess I just don't mind the light.

I did buy one, but came is smaller pipe diameter. Instead, I removed the magnaflow and straight piped it. you wont believe when i say this, but it's actually part of an old extension cord i ripped apart. the ends were damaged, but still have good feet of thick guage wire for stuff like this. white, black & green :)

Yes, this 2step is meant for launch control. My truck is still running the original stall converter, so I can't put the launch so high. Also, I wired mine to a push button switch so there's another (hold the launch button and release at the same time as my brake) step that I have to do, but.. having it connected to the brake pedal would make it easier. for launching. Just remember to put a toggle [on/off] switch to cancel the 2step in case you want to do a burnout, 🤷🏻‍♂️ or maybe so it wont engage 2step while in normal stop and go driving, every time you hit the brake.

Oh no, you can still use this with the stock stall converter, but you would get the most out of it if you had a higher stall .. something like 3200-3600 My stock stall is about 1700' so if I set the 2step anything after that , it will start spinning the wheels before it hits the 2step

It does work I have a lc9 5.3 Only difference I think is lc9 has 799 heads and is aluminum block.

I added an aftermarket cam by Texas Speed, so there is a completely different tune now

It'll 2step anything past the set limiter, so it doesn't matter if you're half or full throttle..

Yes set your 2step for say 2 thousand rpms and hold it to the floor and when the light turns green just push your 2step button and boom you'll launch

This works for both, turbocharged and na engines.

Yeah pretty much. Just a baby cam from Texas speed and k&n with moderate tune.

This one is for Chevy LS engine, but I'm sure there is a 2 step for your truck.

@La Violenta Yes, actually! My teeth are sensitive and delicate. I chipped a front tooth while sleeping and couldn't afford veneers, so resorted to gold. I've had these for about 8 years! I know one day they'll wear out.. I just hope I can do something about it by then. 😕🤷🏻‍♂️

Coil packs aren't part of a routine maintenance that you need to change out. My truck is 13 yrs old, with 195k miles. Even if I replaced them now, they should be good for another 13+ yrs when the truck has 400k miles.

In this video, I wired the 2 step to a momentary switch. instead.. connect it to the brake pedal, just hold the brake and rev up your engine. When you are ready to launch, just release the brake.

If you are driving around on the street, you can 2 step next to someone you want to race (they'll know you want to race).. but for roll racing, it is pointless! It is meant for digs, and since I'm running a stock stall.. highest rpm I'll go is 2k, but a quick launch. I dont hold it too long either. Like I said, more parts are coming and things will get better. You just have to know where you're at right now to really know where you're going!

Now that's an idea! But, this is still my daily! Ive been wanting to run a turbo, cam, big stall built trans. etc. But this Tahoe is heavy. I have a Silverado with a 6.0, but its 4 door and heavy too.. I would like to get a single cab and mod that one. Something short and light

It cuts ignition at a certain rpm. Let's say, you set it at 3000rpm (example). You can push the throttle 100%, but this device will only allow your engine to rev to 3000, until you release your brake/ clutch.. It's a launch control used for race, but works even on stock engines.

No trans brake needed, but I will say.. if your car/ truck is automatic, the stock stall converter will be around 1600rpm so I'd advise if you are going to launch on a completely stock truck, not to set the launch higher than that! You can change to a higher stall (3000rpm etc.) for better launch.
