MSF Cares for People Arriving by Sea in Samos, Greece 

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has been providing emergency medical help to people arriving by boat on the Greek island of Samos. MSF teams have assisted more than 570 people over the last year in need of urgent medical care and psychological first aid, as well as food and water. Many of these new arrivals have told MSF staff about encountering violence while trying to cross into Europe from Türkiye [formerly Turkey], including beatings, theft, and sexual violence, and about violent interceptions on land and at sea, meant to discourage people from seeking asylum in Europe. MSF is asking the authorities to investigate each allegation of forced return and is calling for a humane and dignified reception for all people arriving on Samos.
