MSFS 2020 - A320 ILS Approach Problems Fixed 

Thanks for this I have noticed that some ILS frequencies in MSFS are wrong and now I always check them. Now I always seem to get my ILS APPR

Great Tutorial. Apprecated. I followed it through as you had flown it and was successful. I went for a second trip round this time to 25R using the same left pattern). It seems to get the ILS frequency wrong (or it could have been user error). BUt it was like the ILS frequency was set to land on 25R but it was trying to direct you to 25L even thpough the purple ILS lines were way over to the right.. Going around changing trhe frequency from 109.75 (which MSFS chose) to the value listed by Little navmap 111.35, it landed perfectly. I maybe got something wrong. But it maybe a bug. That is the usual dilemma at the moment. Did I do something wrong? Or is it a bug.

when I choose ILS Runway there is no Frequency appears on Radio nav (CDU).....

Thank you so much. This has been driving me nuts in the game and even when I use the in menu flight plans, I have had a 20-30% success rate in picking up the locator.

I haven't had any issues getting the ILS to line up typcially, except where the airport itself in MSFS is hosed. KSNA for example, lines you up with the short GA runway 02L when choosing 20R. The RNAV approaches on the other hand, I often find those will not capture and fly the vertical profiles. A good topic for a future video might be something about RNAV vs ILS.

When i flew to EKCH yesterday i did all of that. Inserted everything in the PERF page, F-PLN and Init page. Still, when i turned on the APPR mode to capture the localiser it didn't work, and never got any info on the LS display. Maybe the bug is so violent that it differs from airport to airport, idk...

Your Düsseldorf looks a lot like Frankfurt :)

Is the Charlie waypoint in near of EDDL a common official waypoint from approach chart? I wonder how you insert it in the FMS. Can you elaborate on it?

If the only problem with the a320neo is not getting an ILS when you're on the ground, I'd say that's okay. :) Nice vid. Using trackIR? Very smooth viewing.

Sometimes the diamond doesn't show up at all on the right side of the screen. But one shows up on the bottom. I use the navaid to get the ils frequency and that still happens even after I switch the frequency to "active".

I have this issue when the autopilot lands but not on the center line. Does anyone know how to fix that?

What I have noticed is I'll plan a flight, enter and confirm everything in the MCDU, once I get out of cruise and begin my decent, the flight plan skips all waypoints and jumps to the final destination. I then have to manually enter the next waypoint as direct in order to get it back on the flight plan. It doesn't always work. Anyone else experiencing this?

Hey @easyjetsimpilot the problem I was having with Liverpool ILS 09 is strange. When I have made the flight plan using in game flight planner and set it all correct for low Alt airways and ILS 09 approach once in game and checked the RAD/NAV page it shows no ILS frequency against 09 I had to input in manually.

Okay. Did two test flights today. First, set up as is, but did the save/load hack. Took off, stable to next waypoint. Turned on AP, the the plane flew on straight as can be. Did not turn for the next waypoint. Manually flew it to destination. On Appr mode it would not lock into the ILS. Second flight. Bare, no mods (Livery/Airports or Scenery). No hot fix. Took off and flew on AP ok, slightly off track but following points. Descending down, went into approach phase.. descending to final alt before turning towards loc, and the plane just descended through the set alt, right to the ground. I really think that Asobo has broken something deep in the sim, so for now, it is GA aircraft until this is sorted out.

Nice, thanks. So, I've watched your live tutorial departing from liverpool about the mod and some parts of some others and I noticed that you don't use the ATC and use the Simbrief. Id like to suggest a video on using the MS built-in flight planning and using the ATC, for those people like me, who consider the ATC, despite being trash, important for the immersion. I know there's maybe a ton out there, but coming from someone experienced like you would be way better. Or is just impossible to enjoy the mod with the current vanila ATC? Or if you have on already with those, could you please link?

I seem to have lost all and any ILS function. I m having so many problems now with the FBW that i might just go back to the default aircraft. I think I m getting to old for all this shit.

I have the runway in my flight plan and rad but when I press apprch near airfield it just turns around and head off speeding into the abyss

Just seen this guide pal and I hope it works for me because I am having a nightmare with 09 at Liverpool and not picking up the ILS information. It flies the full plan and even lines up for the approach but zero ILS info.

That flight computer is just for show. Anything you put into it doesn’t affect anything. Cost index does nothing. I’ve done full flights without ever touching it. It’s just not modeled and hopefully a payware Airbus comes along very soon as there’s not much the FlyByWire team can do regarding this

How to trigger the approach phase manually?

I am glad to see I am not the only one with this problem. And your tutorial solved this issue for me at EDDF. But in Trondheim (ENVA) and Alesund (ENAL) for example, it still does not work. I cannot even see the ils frequency on the Rad/Nav page. I think, it depends on the airport you are flying to.

Common practice is to keep above 160 knots until 4.0DME... otherwise ATC will get frustrates as you hold up the stack... I'd like to see if this works with higher speeds of intercept. I've personally had mixed results at plenty of airports. It seems inconsistent also. I can do the same approach from various origins and have very different results.

I just can't understand how you can got it work... I'm using FlyByWire mod version 0.4.1, I does not work neither with the stable nor with the developer version. I Can't choose the rwy and ILS, and ILS freq is NOT inserted into the APPR page. On the FMC I get always GPS PRIMARY or NOT IN DATABASE message... More than annoying.

I can't fly the 320 when I lower flaps the ac points down & climbs & the ILS doesn't seem to be set up right if it's for rnwy 25 I have to select the opposit end of the runwy for the ILS to work

So how do you bypass the USR error on the MCDU

is there any add on which makes the runways flat cuz all these airports' runwyas are bumpy. in xplane 11 there were hd airport add-on

I have found that loading a Simbrief plan into MSFS2020, the sim often omits the approach. If you add it again in the sim, it basically produces a new flight plan of it's own. If you go into the plane and add the ILS approach it all works, diamonds and all. I flew from Exeter to Gatwick and tried all 3 methods; the in plane method is the only one to generate a correct ILS approach.

Ya nah....this is still broken.

For some reason my A320 doesn’t flare😂 when I’m right above the runway and it should flare, it decides to do a nose dive into the runway. It actually pulls straight down suddenly, any idea why??

Are you using the latest FlyByWire 32Nx? I had this ILS issue. But I had gone through a full flight with all phases completed! Looks like it's been fixed?

Do you think you could do a similar audit of the approach in the TBM? For example I was landing on 23L at HECA (Cairo) and I'm convinced the glidescope was 180 degrees out.

Another problem I have is that just when the aircraft enters the approach flightplan, it suddenly changes to go directly to the vertical of the airport. Could it be related to not having initiated the approach phase in the plane's computer?

I followed your instructions and the glide slope still didn't show up for me. I was at the right height according to the chart, everything set up in the approach mode, LS on... diamonds just didn't show up whatsoever.

Deleted the program off my computer. Biggest POS simulator I ever tried to play. At least I had it through Game Pass so I didn't spend a fortune on it. This was launched WAY too soon.
