lol that carpark is like one of those airport collect car companies who park your car in a field... again all that snow and not one flake on the buildings... orbyx might be getting known for rushing stuff out..
Really like your reviews, Filbert! What's up with bad winter textures on so many airports? ESGG Göteborg by ORBX is also having some weird snow textures and sharp edges? Same with ORBX LOWG Graz?
Thanks Reinhard. I'm not entirely sure what's going on with the winter textures. I have a hunch that different ground surfaces (asphalt, concrete etc.) display snow differently and that third party developers can't do anything about this at the moment. A lot of the harsh lines seem to occur between different coloured surfaces. Although some developers seem to have more success getting round this than others, I'm inclined to cut them all a bit of slack - the SDK is not complete, and I think they're all feeling their way in the dark a bit.
This is the closest airport to me (only 60 minutes away) and I've been a couple of times and this scenery is quite realistic in my opinion.The thing that needs a little bit of work is maybe the detail of the airport but generally good.

I haven't experienced that here yet but I have at other airports. I may be wrong, but I think this is an Asobo/Navblue data issue that can't yet be corrected by scenery developers due to SDK limitations.
finally, one that I already owned...agree its nice, not spectacular. I now have this one, London City (because I live in London) and Bristol (also lived there but your review persuaded me). Strange about the snow - I don't pretend to understand! thanks again for a level review.

Main thing I noticed was the large buildings behind Multiflight which aren't there in real life and overlook the scenery, although maybe not to do with the scenery
Well done again with another great and honest review. Compared to some other scenery coming out, Orbx is sadly no longer the leader in airport design. When you look at products like Cologne/Bonn from Aerosoft, or FSDTs Key West, Orbx has a lot of catching up to do.
It really depends on the specific developer I think. ORBX's Gothenburg (done by Marcus Nyburg) for example is right up there with the likes of Cologne/Bonn or FSDT's Key West. Similarly, Cologne/Bonn is great because it was made by Jo Erlend Sund rather than because it's an Aerosoft product. Other Aerosoft airports have been done by different people in the past and haven't been up to this standard. So I wouldn't write ORBX off - the quality of their offerings is variable, but it's never dreadful. Look out for the names of specific developers if you want the best of the best, rather than the company that's doing the selling and publishing.
I think when they sort out the issue of transparent glass sticking out like a sore thumb in low visibility, I'll agree with you. Right now, I'm very much on the fence.
Hi about comparing prices of scenery between orbx central store and the in game store. I have compared some prices and in my opinion buying from the orbx store is cheaper i took the orcas Island scenery as an example and it cost 17 aus dollars in orbx store in the sim it cost 20. I would say you can 2 to 3 dollars buying from orbx.
Yes, I think that's often the case but sometimes the opposite is true. I think it partly depends on your currency. I've always bought ORBX products direct, but I've bought some things through the marketplace as they were cheaper there.
bit odd where is the high rise flats that you see in scenery come from never seen them in leeds before by the airport most odd ,its a plane to down load or leeds hmm

Generally I like this airport. Particularly the location, it was the second airport I purchased for MSFS after London City. However the landside leaves a lot to be desired - the ground textures here are rubbish. I agree with the snow being a bit strange as well. The atmosphere here though is good and it's always a pleasure to visit this airport. Something though that a lot of people have said is the performance of sim at this airport isn't great, for me it's ok though, I have a 2080 Ti and 9900K.
Performance is fine for me too, and I only have a 1080Ti & 8700k. I generally like this airport as well. We've been spoilt with some incredible releases lately, and this isn't up there with the best of them, but it's still well worth buying.
Yes, I do. I'd like no statics, full statics and half statics options ideally. Pretty sure I mentioned this at some point in the review but can't face watching it again cos I'm sick of the sound of my own voice!
This one was a launch day release, so I suspect there was a bit of rushing. I still think it's pretty good though. Their products are variable because they have so many different developers working for them but I've not yet used one that I have actively disliked.
I genuinely like Filbert's reviews. They're very nicely put together. For my personal taste, however - and it is just my personal taste - I think he's a little too affable if such a thing is possible. The car park is a mess and the low res textures in front of the airport are just plain lazy. This stuff matters to many people. Orbx took considerable heat for both this airport and the London landmarks. And rightly so. No question the products were not only rushed out but also half-hearted ports of previous work.
@@alextomic9223 what drugs are you taking. Look at a jet2 737-800 and a Ryanair 737-800 on Google then look at these they aren’t correct they are similar but not the same
@@alextomic9223 are you blind look at the jet2s they normally say friendly low fares on the top of the windows it doesn’t have it. Also they logo on the tail is a lot smaller and the jet2 logo on the front of the plane is too far forward
