Yeah you got the Subwoofer in the top back shelf! I was the responsible engineer of the loudspeakers and infotainment/radio system at Scania. I fought so hard to keep the Subwoofer project alive, I left Scania before it went into production. So happy to see it make it through. 🙂

@@derickbartlett1714 Bruce's truck seems to have the fully spec:ed 5.1 sound system. A loudspeaker in each door, tweeter in each A-pillar, center speaker in the front top shelf and a subwoofer behind the back top shelf. The subwoofer is as wide as the shelf with two drivers.

Hey, that is so cool. Unfortunately I have never had the chance to experience the upgraded factory sound systems since every time I had a next gen Scania it was a rental without the option. I used to own a 2015 Topline in which I have built my own system, even have a video of it here on RU-vid. That being said, even the standard systems are pretty good.

I am a lifelong KW driver, third generation in my family, always with American trucks. Now I have a 620hp Scania V8 in Mexico. I wouldn't go back to an American truck even if I'm drunk. My friends have W900s with C15 and C16 engines. I always humiliate them on the climbs and descents. They are also saving up to leave the American junk behind and get a Scania.

Bruce that button you didn't know what it was is simply weight transfer, over here if you're at traffic lights on a hill, we usually lift the axle before getting going, but weight transfer pulls weight off the tag, and puts it on the drive for traction, it then cancels the function at about 20mph 👍 that's simply what it is.
@mynameiscammy2512
@mynameiscammy2512 11 дней назад
Also, the reason why your map light didn't work, is your interior light button is turned off, on the dash you'll have a button for the interior lights with 3 settings, all the way to bottom is lights on, middle is standby where you can put the lights on individually whenever you like, and top is turn absolutely everything off like an isolator, just move it to the middle, it's the button to the right hand side of your lane departure button under radio 👍

Hey Bruce the button on <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="639">10:39</a> is the Weight transfer button, we use it during the winter if you need more weight on the drive axel to have the grip you need to get up a hill or if you are stuck in at a loading bay and need to get going I hope Scania will start selling trucks in USA because they truly are the best trucks in the world

As a diesel mechanic for the last 50 years, I can tell you that individual cylinder heads are just the best thing on a truck or const. equipment. It was really bad when I did field service on construction equip. in the 70s, trying to shuffle a big cyl. head off to one side to replace a piston or using a long board to slide the head from the top of the engine into the back of the service truck, by yourself. That was one of the best parts of the Cummins "K" series engines, it had individual heads. The Cummins in line engines from before they dropped the H, NH, NT and NTC series were good because they had 3 heads on the inline engines, only the early "C" and "J" series had a single head. The Mack V8s were good because they had 4 heads. On the mechanical side, they can put more head bolts for better clamping of the cylinder heads on the head gaskets. You don't have to disconnect 3/4 of the fuel system and don't have to go around setting all the valves and injectors. There are many advantages to individual heads, I could go on and on.

@flydieselair
@flydieselair 10 дней назад
@@michaeladams3421 Even the cabovers in the 70s didn't have a lot of leaks or electrical problems anymore more that the conventional cabs, but they did have a tendency to be cold on the feet in the winter in the cheaper models. The cabovers were really easy to work on and rebuild the engines,. You had wide open access to the engines and a dream to take the tranny out. Better than swing fender Dodge or the 2000 series Internationals. A 555 Cummins in a swing fender, you had to loosen the cab mounts just to get the rocker cover off and the International 2000 series, you had a sub frame running along the top of the truck frame. Rebuilding an inline 6 of any flavour, you had no mostly work on your knees in the cab as 3/4 of the engine was in the cab past the fire wall. Anyway, sorry for the rant. The real problem in the Scania cabover or any new truck would be, the quality of the electronics, are they cheap crap like North American stuff, or are they using quality products, that sh!t can be more expensive than simple engine work. Those are 1,000,000 million mile, plus engines.

The thing on the roof is the radar for the alarm. If you look on the key there’s two options, one is to lock and disable the motion sensor for when you’re on a ferry or train (ferry icon on the key) the other disables the radar in the cab so you can lock it from the fob while inside and not set the alarm off. The control on the back of the cab on the curled cable is radio control, night heater control, night cool (parking aircon) and a few other features.

First of all I hope Scania will enter the US market! They should seriously consider to bring back the Longline factory cab option. It will be great for long haul, much easier to maneuver than a regular american truck and the trailer gap will be closed resulting in much better fuel economy. It’s not possible to close the trailer gap without a longer cabin. The 385 tire width if not as standard, it should be offered as an option in order to take advantage of the higher capacity of the EU front axle. I am patiently waiting for the results and for sure I will be one Scania V8 customer. Good luck!

I've driven a few trucks over the years here in the UK that my dad owned. As far back as an T plate (1963) Scammel Constructor. It felt more like a tractor than a truck. Lol. No air clutch, no power steering, crash box etc. You had to be a brute of a man to drive trucks back then. Then he bought a brand new F plate (1988) Iveco Turbo 330/30 and it was amazing! Easy to drive as any car. Of course even that is an antique compared to your shiny new R770! That thing is just stunning! Everything about it. I am fascinated by the fact that the 770 models are quite common and not just something that exists in the lineup from Scania to cater to a small audience. But here most are the hi-cab version. Anyway, i am looking forward to see you when you get it delievered to the US in a while. Thanks for all the great narration you do in your videos. One can really tell that you are very excited about these trucks and the technology that puts them into a class of their own. Cheers from Småland/Sweden!

She's a beauty, nice to see you are going to be Scania's agent, I think once the USA Trucking Company's see the build quality and power these trucks have, not to mention how reliable they are, Scania is going to take off pretty quick big style, they already know about Volvo's and how good and reliable they are, well here's another Swedish truck some think are even better.

You should really get a good euro trailer for this truck! I would reccomend Ekeri or Limetec for reefer/box with side doors and maybe a Broshuis flatbed

I was driving Scania's 30 plus years ago, they were brilliant lorries then look like they've built on that. Re painting over stuff, all that does is reduce the life of pipes and cables, which is probably why they paint over them. Really like your enthusiasm, it will be interesting to see what truckers in the US think?.

That remote above the bed. You should be able to use it to control webasto, so if youre feeling cold or hot at night, you dont need to leave the bed. Also you should be able to set alarms etc on it

This Scania is amazing. To get it completed, you definitely need a Euro trailer from Ekeri. Thanks for these great videos. I'm waiting for the US videos now👍

The button you Thought was to engage the rear drive axle is the full locker, tha axle Will engage automatic when you lower it. Have the same setup on my truck, wonderful when driving on bad and slippery roads in the norwegian mountains.. 😁 The button with the boogie and the arrowes are to move weight from the rear to the front drive If you Need to, like when you are pulling a light load and Want to take of on a slippery road.

Honestly I would LOVE to see Scania make a move into the US Market, The quality of current American trucks are straight ASS. I drive a 2025 Kenworth T680, in the first 30,000 miles the Carrier Bearing and Front U-Joints failed while driving down the road, took a week to fix, The turbo went out ($14,500 to replace!!!!!!). I am so glad I work for a company who has to pay to fix this hunk of shit, but man I would absolutely love to drive one of the Scanias over here! I only drive 5 days out at a time so the smaller sleeper is fine with me!

So I may have missed this, but I hope you're getting some lights and a deer catcher installed, but seeing as the deck plates aren't there yet I assume that still has to be installed. Also puhlease say it's still going for paint to get the Scania logo on the back of the cab. You can't have a Scania show truck without having the giant griffon V8 logo on the back of the cab. Well you could, but it'd be sacrilege.

<a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="639">10:39</a> this should be a button you can use to lift the lift axle for a short time (even when fully loaded) to get more traction for driving off in slippery conditions.

That`s what it does, it slightly lifts the axle with wheels still on the ground and transfers the weight to the lead drive axle.

Hi Bruce, the other button you didn't know is the hill hold button. It prevents rolling backwards when you pull up after a full stop on a hill. And a small tip about the shoes on the doorstep. Store them somewhere inside during nasty wheather. Otherwise they Will be soaking wet

bruice said in another video (the production of the Scania) that the drivers can do a "fix" and prevent water from splashing the shoes on the last doorstep i believe.

You're probably correct that most USA citizens aren't too swift at geography, but most non-USA citizens don't understand how continent spanning distances are nonchalantly driven by citizens here. Still would like that Citroen though.
