Love this airport - my new favourite route to fly is Newcastle to Dundee. Both lovely airports. Good review - I will need to go and look for the repaired runway. I was hoping you would mention the lovely modelled VOR station in the middle of the field - I am now obsessed with finding them at airports (Barcelona has two) - anyway, a great review and a lovely airport.

It's a good GA airport for flights up to Northumberland or onto Dundee (also ORBX). Waiting for Dublin to connect to. There is some nice custom around the airport, including SAGE offices to the SE.
during the day it looks great. I just dont get orbx though, they go nuts and detail the roof of a building and an old tower (could have used the same fence from Dundee probably you would be the only one to see it was the same!) but then let it down by really poor lighting and again little things that really would not take that much to fix (pixilated signage)... The snow effect (which would have been used yesterday!) is dreadful, it seems they have used the texture everywhere that for whatever reason doesn't take the snow effect (maybe the case that its the only one that looks realistic to actual airport).. I was also freaking out about the lower case n in newcastle academy .. so much so I had to go check and it is actually lower case..why would they do that! I was close to buying this one but will wait for an Edinburgh and Stansted.
Haha, I hadn't noticed the lower case n in newcastle academy, and I'm glad I hadn't or I'd have been freaking out too! This was and airport that I really liked, in spite of finding quite a few things to criticise. I've discovered it's very hard to get enthusiasm across in a review at the same time as pointing out flaws. For what it's worth, I don't think you'd be disappointed if you did decide to buy it.

I discovered something today that shocked me to my core... that wooden fence near the GA area also appears in Macco’s Manchester, which means it must be a default Asobo asset! I tell you, if I knew then what I know now....
Is the ILS Approaches working as they should? Both directions give me crazy Approaches and one is even an overpass first which is out of bounds in real life.
Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you. Yes, the ILSes are both working fine for me. Having checked the charts, both approaches do in fact start over the Newcastle NDB, which is just northeast of the airport, at 3500 feet. So they're sort of circle-to-land approaches. But I'd imagine the whole procedures are hardly ever used in real life, as vectors would be given to final.

Can Orbx not remove the stupid Asobo vehicles strewn across gates? Asobo really ruin the airports! Dundee is superb. This is also very nice. Just need to get rid of generic Asobo junk! EGCC needs a dev. There are Asobo huts on taxiways! Do they care at all? Great review, thanks!
I don't think so, but you can turn them off in your settings - just move the ground vehicles slider to zero. There's a version of EGCC under development, and you can buy an early access version now - maccosim.com/ I'm working on a preview video of it at the moment.
@@FilbertFlies Thanks very much! I just watched your EGCC review, looks great. Its not just the ground vehicles at Asobo airports. They leave baggage carts and all sorts of gubbins around certain gates. EHAM has these and you have to steer around all the gubbins! I see the baggage disaster area here at EGNT! These are distractions from an otherwise nice airport. Bad enough we dont have GSX 2, but the popping vehicles and the baggage crashes are poor!
