In today's video, I've landed at Newcastle International Airport in the North East of the UK. This is a Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Orbx scenery available from their Direct store linked below or Orbx Central Software.

Just a heads up to you all, at 20:37 in this video the before and after are mixed up, needless to say the before scene shown should be in the after section as you can tell - Thank you to Stringbean for bringing this to my attention. I'm usually very spot on with my editing and making sure the video is mistake free. These things happen and I'm just relieved it isn't the whole montage. Please do stay tuned for an Orbx Giveaway! This week I will be putting out another Orbx scenery review with details on how to enter, it will be similar to the current Burning Blue Design giveaway but this time 6 people will win and can choose a product from the Orbx Direct store. Cheers mate! Was wondering why a few months back I could get a video out nearly every day but looking back my videos were poor, my camera work and editing were a bit rough - now I'm doing more smooth camera shots and adding tracked text and other bits. That said I'm still aiming for a new video every other day, a day in between for recording and editing etc.

I app you saying that, I'm working on improving my editing and overall presentation in each video, I have some free ones coming up finally but keep getting distracted with others . Another great in-depth review on this airport. Just one thing though, on your Before and After shots in the montage, you have one of them in the After which should be in the Before @20.37 minutes. It was the default control tower that in the After screenshot that confused me until I realised the error. Just an observation my friend. Thanks for the review.

It's certainly very detailed, So much to see and find. This video could have easily been 60 mins long, definitely one of my top paywares, stunning scenery add on and very reasonable price.

@@PracticallyGeek Yeah, certainly lots of detail! This is only 1 of my 2 payware purchases but my first was a payware scenery for San Diego Int'l (KSAN) it was a little disappointing, I liked the approach to the airport but it was just the textures on the terminals and such that kinda threw me off.

That's a shame man, sometimes higher textures can hurt the airports performance so it's not always best for them to be pin sharp but that said if they are really bad it can look blurry and unrealistic. I have some videos coming from USA, payware and freeware ones. Thank you watching and commenting as always :) all the best.

Newcastle airport to me is one of the 3 best airports in the world, obviously Heathrow is 1st, Dubai is 2nd and 3rd is Newcastle

Good catch re elevation detail! They need to look at this. Otherwise it's a superb job. I just want GSX2 to give us proper ground services!

Honestly think I would have missed that if it wasn't for me getting excited by the fire training facility section :) Personally, I'm looking forward to a good AI aircraft engine for this sim - the ai air traffic is very poor as standard, I remember traffic global for X Plane 11 being super! I was also a little geeky in doing some virtual plane spotting at airports around the world.

Agreed Christopher, looking back at this video you can see how much Orbx have improved with their recent airports but also how other developers have gone further with interiors and parallax window effects.

for anyone who owns this..... does it just update the airport or is the whole region generally better, ie Newcastle, South Shields etc?

It just updates the airport, Orbx released their UK region scenery which adds Landmarks to Newcastle and the North of UK. Definitely worth a look at that if you want surrounding buildings etc or take a look on FlightSim.to for some free photogrammetry - I'd imagine someone on their has done a whole 3D scan replacement for Newcastle. Hope this helps 🙏

I'd say so Bradley, better specs than mine so absolutely. Try got to 32gb RAM but 16 should be fine. Run the sim from the SSD.

@@bradleyarmstrong5987 Simply installing it to that drive once your PC is all setup, if it has two drives you will just install it to the smaller 512GB one :)
