I am running Ryzen 9 7950x with the MSI 4090 graphics card. Max settings! I used MSI Afterburner overclocking tool to set my settings. Best thing I've done yet. New York KJFK = 80 FPS Los Angeles KLAX= 80 FPS Miami KMIA = 80 FPS 10 thousand feet and up over 100 fps A must try !!!!!! And super smooth.
I’ve never seen flight simulation at this level of detail. And to think way back when I first saw sublogic flight sim 2 for the Commodore 64, I thought the graphics looked insane….LOL. Can you imagine showing this to 80’s kids and see their reaction.
Yes, too quick for me but, if he spread it out it would have been way too long a video. An A350 pilot would have been with him all the way through but unlike a car drive I will never be in their class. Aviation has been in my family 70+ years and when I became widowed I bought a new pc with msfs 20 installed but gave up too early. Today I just picked my serviced pc after 3yrs unused and am going to have another serious go at it.....hate tv, don’t like video games, and this presentation today has enthused me to start learning all over again. I came onto this earth with much to do and I am so far behind I need to live a very long life to get through it all. I am very impress. I have bought almost every MFS since the late 70 early 80. Green fosfet Monitor VGA with a Maxx Yoke & Pedal, at that time. Now I'm planning to make a mager update.

Thanks a bunch. I thought it was really realistic, and not just the graphics. I used to work at the Intercontinental Airport(IAH) here in Houston. As a baggage handler, but not a pilot. I can appreciate and understand the Realism that is there, when some may not. I liked it.
It's pretty realistic but it does seem to be missing the baggage handlers carelessly tossing cartons of live chickens upside down onto the baggage trucks... and occasionally missing.
I am no pilot, i do have a yoke and fs, but this was a great landing at heathrow. That airport is a hit and miss for smooth. Gatwick a little less weather dramas usually
This is usually an issue with the Nivida cache needing to be cleared and this is affecting the CPU, not the GPU. MSFS Actually runs fine at 4K even with a 4070, and it will almost always be the CPU that will limit the frame rate. I use a 4080 and my GPU is usually loafing. My 13900 CPU is almost always setting the frame rate limit. The game is very CPU bound. The new version coming this year is supposed to fix that.
@@shenmisheshou7002 MSFS 2020 is still far from being considered well optimized. There is a huge CPU bottleneck and Asobo has never managed to improve this aspect.
@@oguilhermebr Yeah. I said that my CPU is the limit but in reality it is the main thread. The CPU utilization is only 8%. My GPU will run about 50% but unless I fly a slow plane at high altitude, my main thread is almost always the limit. Now the reality is that for me, as long as I don't get greed with the Object Level of Detail slider, the game runs fine for me. Even at busy airports, while the FPS can slow to the mid 30s, the game is still very smooth, and away form airports, with frame generator on, it is always super smooth with no stutters. Sometimes I wonder if I will bother upgrading. My LOD sliders are adjusted almost perfectly for almost all flying other than landing or taking off at busy aiports.
Retracting gear as soon as practical after rotation is more about maximising climb performance and speed (and minimising stall risk) than reducing fuel cost.
@4KFlights I said it's *more* about other things than reducing fuel cost. That implies it can include both. But without a doubt more due to safety considerations than saving a bit of fuel 😅

FL240 initial altitude?! On what Planet? The SID for that runway has never cleared that height ever. We would be fired immediately if we pulled that off.
Unless you are using very high-end VR, or running 3 monitors, you really don't need a 4090 for MSFS, and in fact, even a 4070 is fine. What you do have if you want to run the object and terrain detail sliders high is a very powerful CPU. I have a 4080, and I can run all of the graphics settings on Ultra, and the GPU is maybe 40% utilized, but the CPU will be working hard.
I used to have a 4070 Ti and after switching to a 4090 the performance increase has been about 40-60% although that when I upgraded to the 4090 I also went from an i9 10900K to an i9 14900K so that might be where the performance increase comes from. Really looking forward to msfs 2024! ✈️
@@4KFlights Yeah, it was the processor. Even on a 3090, you can run Ultra on everything but the LOD sliders and the CPU will not be working more than about 60%. It is the LOD sliders and the traffic that load the CPU. If you have not used the developer toolkit FPS counter, I suggest you turn it on. You will see that the GPU will be running well under 10 millisecond response time, but with the sliders set at the defult Ultra settings, the CPU will have a response in the high teens when flying high and in the 20s when flying low. Traffic and LOD are the secret to getting more FPS, not the GPU. If you have not done this, you will find that your GPU is literally loafing. It is the CPU that is the frame just about any time you are flying other than high altitudes over open terrain. The CPU is almost always the limit in MSFS. Even a 3090 will run Ultra at 4K if you turn down the LOD sliders and again, while they are in the "Graphics" setting, if you turn them up, you will see that the GPU barely works harder, but the CPU will crash and burn. If you try it, please let me know what your numbers were before and after LOD changes.
Looks incredible but still flies like Google Earth with a joystick even after all this time. MS needs to divert some programmers from graphics and eye candy and into inertia/gravity/ground handling etc...

This is so realistic, it is simply amazing. What MSFT has done with this game…if you can call it a game? Question, has anyone tried to see a Boeing 737 max combos be taken down by pulling those levers that mushroom pilot tried pulling in flight a few months back? He never was a bale to but I’m curious if it would have really been unrecoverable,
I have a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and a RTDX 4060ti, i put my settings on Ultra and terrain 400 however, the terrain looks weird and disgusting. Any idea on how to fix this? Am I doing something wrong?
Must be real, who the hell would go out of their way to visit Belgium in a game? I've got a 4090 and I used to like playing this game in VR until I realised it's the same as using the VR Google Earth, only your view is constricted by an aeroplane cockpit, lol, if you aren't interested in the flying part you are better of with Google Earth VR.
Hey, do you have a community of VATSIM flyers that you correspond with in this game or FSX even? I need to try and find someone in the flight sim world that is familiar with the 747.
That might be because you either aren’t using heavy enough scenary and aircrafts or because you have a power saving option or something similar set on your computer.
In most cases, pilots will disconnect the autopilot and fly manually about 1 mile before the runway except for situations like fog or rain where you can’t see the runway, then the autopilot will do an autoland

D'un cote cela me rassure car mon materiel est en bonne etat mais de l'autre cote c'est tres decevant que Microsoft nous donnent la possibilite de booster le graphisme alors qu'ils ne suivent pas derriere.
Just look at 5:52, if that doesn’t look insanely realistic then I don’t know what does. “Insane Realism” is referring to the overall realism of the video which in my opinion is Insane. Sorry if the title confused you :)
@@4KFlights Honestly, I don't know. But I heard that the 4090 connector, in some cases, get heated and melt, causing the GC to stop working, and most importantly, may result in fire, the later never been reported though. This is the only thing that stops me from buying the 4090
I haven’t heard that, but I will certainly keep an eye on it but if it happens, the manufacturer warranty covers it so I am not really worried about it.
