Regarding FMS and route planning, recently I’ve started to copy Active Route -> Secondary Route. It’s so easy switching, if active one has problems. For example, need to change STAR and approach in a hurry, it can easily screw up the route. At least you have a Plan B :)
Nicely done man. You’ve learned the bird very well. An absolute if anyone wants to learn to fly the Barbie jet correctly this is the video series to do it.
Excellent tutorial video as always. Thank you very much. I have to put a bit of time into flying the CRJ because I´m finding it a lot different from the big airliners. In fact, it appears to be more complex than both Boeing and Airbus but, perhaps it's only because I have been flying both Airbus and Boeing for so long. I'm sure it will all come together with such a good series of tutorials.
You are right in taxing on eng #2 (due to the hydraulic pumps). My company's policy is anytime taxi-takeoff time is more than 5 mins, taxi single engine. Hope this helps!
I've been doing flight simulator for over 15 years and I'm not even that advanced yet I know just enough to get up and fly wish I knew somebody like you near me show me some extra things in person
Thanks for the video! Very clear information. I copied it in my own CRJ, just could't get my RTU 1 to life while 2 was already on. I'm going to watch them all!
Great video. I'll look forward to your landing video, I have had a lot of issues when flying an ILS approach, it always seems to be chasing the glideslope so I will always disco the AP. I was never sure if it was an issue with my controls, the plane, or just myself!
@@jmizzonini ahhh yes so go to your Aerosoft account on their website if you bought it through them and download the update and install it fresh like that then check to make sure you have 0.1.5 and if you don't run an extra update in the aerosoftupdater program to make sure as 2 updates got released within a week 👍
Wow….okay, I guess I have some work to do now. I just got the 900/1000, and when I spawned in at the gate, I turned the battery master on and nothing happened. I didnt have any power to the EFB either. Nothing on at all. So Im not sure whats going on
When the power is on at the beginning, at the bottom of the list of warnings/cautions it reads PAGE 1/2. Is there a way to scroll so that PAGE 2/2 is visible?
Thanks for great tutorial ! Would you recommend to buy CRJ ? I've been flying A32NX for ages, because it's so pleasant and easy, so much automation. Waiting for PMDG 737, might not be too far away, as it's about to go Beta testing. So meanwhile...worth spending the money ? Ronnie
Hi! It's currently still my favourite aircraft in MSFS so absolutely worth it - lot of extra management required with throttle etc but a lot more rewarding than the A320 because it needs you to actually think further ahead
@@BritishAvgeek Sorry about the late reply. Excellent to hear your thoughts regarding CRJ. It took me a few days to decide. I finally bought the CRJ bundle from Aerosoft this morning. I chose CRJ900 from YBBN (Brisbane) from 19L. Didn't take off yet, just configured the cockpit views on mu iPad Mini 4. There's a lot to learn, and the aircraft will keep the pilot busy, but that's what we like, right ?
Recently purchased the CRJ 550/700. Really nice aircraft in the sim. Fly mainly airliners, and the CRJ is a nice alternative to the Fenix a320 and PMDG 737. Will spend the next couple weeks in the crj before heading into my next plane. Should I add the E-jet to the lineup, or is it worth it?
Tried to go to the website calculator for fuel from your other video on fuel but it’s some mobile payment app analytics? Help direct me to a working way to figure the fuel and flex terms. Thanks
I got it and have had a lot of issues with the LEGS page. I love flying it and it has an incredible amount of detail...but the LEGS page issues drive me nuts.
@@BritishAvgeek Can't remove an altitude restriction once it's set. Also, if I insert a fix into the flightplan, it wipes out almost everything before where I entered it. Makes it hard to fly on Vatsim.
Howdy ! Now I understand why you should have the Aircraft page open on FBE, after pushback ! I've read it's a bug and should have been fixed. Everything electrical has gone off for me, last 3 days in a row. This happens in CRJ1000. Would you know what the "default" fuel quantity is ? I'm asking, because I haven't checked the fuel level before taking off. Last 3 days, in CRJ1000, after ~ 1 hour flight, everything turns off ! I've been losing both engines. Would you know how much fuel there's in the tanks before taking off, mean if you forget to check ?
are you leaving the aircraft tab on the EFB open all the time? If so, that's why the engines are failing - it remains clickable throughout even when not looking at it. You have to turn the EFB to another page (I always keep it on checklists) to be safe
@@BritishAvgeek Hello ! Thank you for being alert and quick reply, appreciated. Last flight, I turned off FBE, just to be sure, before pushback. Guess what, it’s lack of fuel why I’ve been coming down lately (unplanned crashes). I checked in Volanta, how much fuel I’ve burnt, before I crash. It was pretty much same amount of kgs, as “default” fuel quantity in CRJ1000. I’ve been flying with Simbrief planning, didn’t think I need to plan for fuel as well :) I’ve basically punched in the route in FMS and take off. Next thing to find out, range of each CRJ model + how much fuel the can carry. Maybe use Simbrief again, at least it will estimate fuel needed :) All good !
@@yams900 ah yes you need to have a look on the fuel planning bit on simbrief with the aircraft type for the CRJ1000 selected then add that in on the EFB to make sure you have the right fuel loaded 🙂
@@BritishAvgeek No wonder both engines lost :) Managed getting APU on, and sometimes one engine, while low/empty on fuel. Is there a low fuel warning message ? Anyway, should be good now. FBE could be turned off while flying, not really needed.
I just purchased it and can't figure out why every time I load in plane is automatically on can't cold start how do I stop it from loading in already on
@@BritishAvgeek all my planes used to be cold start automatically after uninstalled and being away for awhile I just got back into flight sim and now seems all planes are not on cold start like before
Well, each and every company will have a different procedure but this has been checked by a CRJ Captain to make sure the episodes in these three tutorials cover everything you need to know 🙂
Just press DEL then the discontinuity... But check it's not one that is supposed to be there (like some departures from US airports that are based on a vor, it'll say discontinuity or Vect)
@@BritishAvgeek thanks 🙏 when I tried spooling up the engine by letting fuel in. The Red switch went back down, and it won’t turn the engine on. Any ideas? I’ve searched everywhere.
you lost me at how to setup the flight plan/vnav. I have no idea how to get to correct information if I don't use your route and even then, have no idea where or what to look at to input it in the console. I feel like this part alone could be 2 hours long lol. Other than that, it was great. I guess I'll land the pland manually lmao
Won't work in what sense? I haven't flown it for a little while now and sadly Aerosoft have not bothered updating it for 2yrs either so I imagine issues are creeping in with each update
The Dude from Aerosoft always recommended "46-47 is a good one" - can never remember which exactly 😂 other than that there's no way to determine flex because there's no calculator for it
@@BritishAvgeek I found the issue and it might be something that you could bring up, its because my temp was set to fahrenheit and not Celsius... haha took me like 30 minutes till it clicked in my head lol
