Been using these for a while. Definitely makes a nice difference. It's important to say that any changes should be made with weather off. Also - and importantly - these filters will be deleted anytime you update your graphics card. They cannot be saved. I just take a screenshot of the settings for when I need them.
Really a great video, thx. I hope for us flight simmers, that there will be the time where the Game Filter settings won't be lost after an update of NVidia drivers... or at least an opportunity to import/export those values easily, or to grab those registry keys whatever... Keep up your good work!
@@rwyinsight Ahh nice, I have visited a few times! I am always ashamed when people have such good English, in England very few people can speak another language so well.
Thanks for this great video!! It makes the default MSFS colors way more realistic!!. Until now I don't use GeForce Experience on my RTX3080 and 537.58 driver with 3x 2K monitors. 25-30 FPS average. If I would add GeForce Experience with these filters, will it affect performance and can I roll back if so? Thanks for helping out in advance!
Hello, thank you for your kind comment! It really should not affect performance. NVIDIA Freestyle (in-game filters) is definitely a lot better on performance than ReShade for example. Regarding the roll back process, you can always turn the filters off via the NVIDIA Freestyle overlay and the filters turn off immediately. You can uninstall the GeForce Experience app at any time as well.
It's not working for me. Installed GeForce Experience on my I9 PC with RTX3080 and 537.58 driver with 3x 2K monitors. (Freestyle Ready in Settings). During the programming of the the filters you do see the ALT+F3 filter programming on 3 screens duplicated, you also see the colours change, but MSFS then slowly stops reacting on mouse input and keyboard commands until it completely freezes after the first Done. (No Esc, No Alt+TAB, no Taskmanager). Only a hard reboot of the PC is possible. Any Ideas?
unfortunately it doesn't store me... I set everything but the preset doesn't stay saved... do you know why? I have all the updates done and freestyle installed... I don't understand why...
Thanks for the reply. I have done this but no joy. Doing an internet search it appears from Tuesday others having the same issue possible due to an update? @@rwyinsight
There seems to be some issues with saving according to internet search. I will simply load the pre sets manually when start the Sim. Excellent Video, Definite improvement in picture quality. Thanks!@@rwyinsight
@@KEITHGEE1000 No worries, happy to help! One last thing you can try is rolling back to the previous version of your graphics driver. I had the same issue with the latest release.
@@KEITHGEE1000 Yes with the current version 551.23 has issues with saving those values, see 03:15. Even if you restart your sim or even if you just change the orders of your applied color filters, your values are then completely different. Really annoying. So for that reason, I did a rollback to the previous version and it is fine again. Hopefully it is fixed in the next update of NVidia driver.
It really is worth it! You can simply take a screenshot of your Nvidia Freestyle settings and set it up again when new driver comes out. As this process takes me personally around 30 seconds and new drivers are released monthly, I am willing to spend 30 seconds of my time on this so I can enjoy as realistic picture as possible. 😉
Why would you update your driver all the time? I mean if you have a RTX that is new and there is not a new/must have feature in the driver, why update?
@@caiobailoni99 I usually update the driver when I am sure it won't break my simulator. Back in the P3D days it was pretty common that a new driver messed up your simulator. That's why I wait until I am 100% sure that Microsoft Flight Simulator works fine with the new driver and then I update it. Regarding your question about frequent driver updates, I have always been used to updating my graphics drivers when new ones came out. It might be just my approach of doing things this way.
