Just a short flight in the Shrike 530F for MSFS . Not a full test but more to test if I could get picture in picture working for future videos if thats something that people would like to see.
Cheers Simon. Quite the control set up. Nicely done Bud. The movement of the controls are constant, exactly as I'm finding. It was good to see the collective, stick and pedal movements together. Excellent video and better than expected. The controls insert is one worth including in future videos as it adds a personal dimension to the viewing and gives a real in cockpit feel. Love the collective set up! Innovative for sure. Once again cheers for this video it's calmed my concerns over control movements especially the stick. Much more in depth and constant compared to planes. Time to practice to build up that muscle memory. A bit harder for me as in a wheelchair with only one leg so am stuck with stick twist for yaw but hey, it is what it is. Practice practice practice is what is needed and now thinking on how to set up a collective on the side of the wheelchair with a stick mount on the front...lol Just getting over a recent operation so in the next few months anything is possible...lol Once again, cheers for this video and in the mean time your videos give great inspiration to persist with the practice. Phil.
Thanks for the great feedback. Practice is definitely the key. Will probably keep the picture in picture style for the onboard flights now to add more dimension and not focus on the VR head movements. Can understand with having to use the twist grip, and I started with those and know a few people that use them. Is your twist grip joystick spring loaded? I find the spring constantly fights in helicopters so removed mine, even on my old twist grip I thiii cable tied the spring to compressed so it had little spring effect and made it alot easier to control cyclic while using the twist for yaw. Dm me or email me on topgunsi@outlook.com and I'll be able to sort you a 3d printed collective to put on the side of your wheelchair. Cheers mate.
THanks for the video. That is quite a nice setup you have. Love the collective idea. Really hope this one gets to the Marketplace soon. Trying to work out what helo to buy and this one and the 125 are good contenders :D Helos are so much fun in those high quality zones. so much to see.
Thanks. This one is definitely fun and abit more forgiving if your still getting to grips with heli handling, but at the same time is quite nimble and can really throw it around.
@@simonclark7082 Sounds like good fun. I feel it is easier to hoon around in MFS anyways which is great fun. Only other sim where i recently started to fly Helos is DCS and that in comparrision is like walking on eggshells, specially in the VRS dangerzone. Fun too but not the same freedom like MFS gives with manouvering. In MFS i had good fun so far with the 407 doing hard stops and just doing turns around various places to exersize musslememory. Haven't been able to complete a fixed wing flight since dabbing into helos :D Is the Shrike easy to trim out btw? So that short cruise sections don't get very tiresome. Wish i could trail the helos first as it really would be nice to feel what they are like.
