I've got to agree with the other comments - this (and part 2) is an absolutely fantastic tutorial - I've learnt so many things I have missed before. Thank you for spending the time to put together such easy to follow guides.
Just watched Overkill Simulation video about add-ons etc and he said Little Navmap is a great program but it has A LEARNING CURVE and boy howdy, it sure does. This is a GREAT tutorial that must be watched several times and interface with the actual screen and will eventually get the hang of it. Thanks! !! !!!
Thanks for the commment I'm happy it helped.. 😊 littlenavmap is feature packed that's for sure a new version came out 2.8.8 and it has some new things with it that's pretty cool.
I agree this is The Best Tool Ever. Awesome flight planning and helps to Decide on Departures, Arrivals and Approaches. By the way guys if you can and I did send the Developer a donation I threw $20 at the guy. If you understand Flight Sim there is an amazing amount of work that went into this. Amazing addition to awareness level to where you are and all Frequency’s at your fingertips.
@@2020fsers I did watch part 2 and also found it to be extremely helpful. I never fully understood STARS and SIDS until you showed me their role in air navgation in the video. Great stuff, thanks again!
@@2020fsers Yeah I never used the flight planner but would like to try it out I mostly used littlenavmap for moving map and taxi ways, can't wait for the part2, so many features littlenavmap has.
Been using LNM for several months, but I haven’t been sure how to make use of the aircraft performance tools in the application. Thanks for showing me where to get aircraft performance files…I’ll have to be sure to give them a try.
FIR stands for Flight Information Region, a specified airspace where flight information or alerting service is available. UIR is the upper information region, available in the upper airspace.
Hi. What a clear explanation. I’m not very technical and I’m sure this will be helpful, great video. I’m just about to try X-Plane 11 again and I really like the look of this to go with it. I tried Skyvector before and liked that I could have it open on my ipad as a second screen as I was flying. Little Navmap though doesn’t install to ipad as far as I know. Which means putting this on my PC and I guess alt-tabbing between the two? If I have LNM tracking my ongoing flight.. will alt-tab pause X-Plane and so disrupt the tracking? Should I have both in windowed mode to more easily swap between them? Apologies if these are silly questions, or if they are covered in part two, which I didn’t see yet. All the best Badger
Thanks for the comment .. there are no silly questions ask anything you like . What I would donis use space desk to use your tablet as an additional monitor then you can run lnm on your tablet .
@@2020fsers thank you for taking the time to reply. I’ve not heard of Space Desk. I just watched a video about it and now I really like the idea of giving it a try once I sort myself out on the sim. X-Plane is definitely making me work harder to set it up this time around! First my perfectly fine X52 Pro joystick, which I always use, the sim decided it didn’t like any more. I “think” I’ve persuaded it now… but we’ll see. Then the camera view in the sim keeps janking and jumping, which it never used to do. And now I’m having issues with activating my third party Cessna 172! It’s almost as though the sim is saying, “sure, you could put in lots of unexpected effort to make me work properly where I was always fine before…… but wouldn’t you rather upgrade to my nice shiny X-Plane 12? Come on… you know you would.” Sadly my wallet very much says “NO!” So I’ll have to make do. :) Anyway, thanks again for the great suggestion. I look forward to having a go.
Hey great video, i just got little nav map and this info really helped a TON! Thanks!! Question....So i don't have navigraph i'm guessing that Little Navmap doesn't have to have that to work correctly?
Great Guide, though I'm having a issue with selecting the Globe Elevation folder, I'm getting the message No Valid GLOBE Data Found! Ignore that. I forgot to unzip the Data folder! LoL! Sorry about that, I'm very new to this!
Iv just started using this on my laptop, great video. Quite question I play on Xbox so I do not have the Sim installed on my laptop, so what would I do about the scenery library?
Thanks for the comment.. that is a great question and 1 I have not recieved until now . To be perfectly honest I don't know 😕. What I would do is email the developer and ask him if there is a way around it .
I followed all the steps to download LittleNavmap. When I double click on the icon to start the program, it opens up the small box and then it goes away and the program doesnt start. The only way I can get the program to run is if I use the Little Navmap Portable icon. Any ideas as to why the main Icon isn't working?
She l is all better I am 85% my voice has come back enough I am.going to start some vids on Wednesday.. I have a lot to catch up on . Thanks for asking
Awesome tutorial but I've a problem because I've fsms 2020 on xbox so I can't connect fsms 2020 to little navmap and now I can't plan a flight. Little navmap keeps saying that I've no flightsimulator connected and that it caný find scenery library's. If I search for an airport it says that it can't find it. Can you solve this problem. Do you've a solution for this?
You should be able to use it without loading the scenery library idk maybe you cannot . I would email the developer on the littlenavmap website maybe he has a solution . Thanks for the comment
Hi bro , any chance to do a video regarding the settings from the new SU 10 as your previous videos setting are not working anymore , nice the changes with DLSS Nvidea , and a lot of CTD after this update thank you for your time .
So I open little nav map, I create a flight plan and save it. Then I open flight simulator 2020 and on the home screen where you set your origin and destination, I click on the load from computer button and select the flight plan I just saved. But nothing happens in flight simulator. Isn't it supposed to load itself up into flight simulator automatically and into the GPS and autopilot settings? Am I missing a step?
Are you saving the fpl or exporting it? If you are saving it that's the issue . You need to export the fpl . There should be 1 that says export for msfs . And that's the file you want to load in msfs . And yes the fpl should populate on the map and in the gps
Hey what's up man! I just heard in another video that you moved to Tennessee I live about 30 minutes North of Nashville did you move anywhere close to Nashville?
@@2020fsers that's cool, I'm born a raised here myself been all over TN, I grew up farming and drove truck all over the US for a little while but I'm back to farming again on a Sod Farm in Nashville. In my family you're either a farmer a truck driver or a pilot.. I managed to do all three, I farm and drive trucks for a living but I fly as a private pilot out of John Tune airport and the Springfield airport. I haven't done much flying lately it just costs so much these days. Anyways I've checked out a lot of your videos over the last year or so appreciate all the helpful tips and tricks plus reviews. Obviously I'm an advid flight sim as well, It's a lot cheaper to fly this way..Lol. Anyways just thought I would hit you up since I heard in another one of your videos you had moved to Tennessee.
On your toolbar at the top of the app you have two option selections to the left of the Settings icon that say "Mercator" and "OpenStreetMap". My app does not show these options. I am running version 2.8.0 Beta. How do you get those options to show up on the Tool Bar?
They are there by default on mine I'm not sure what to tell you to do. Maybe I'm not on the latest version idk I've been sick with covid so I haven't been on the pc since this video .
