Yes Ik you’ll still be able to play games decent but what’s the actual point of buying a laptop that says rtx 4060 with a high end i7 but your only gonna get half the performance it’s like buying a brand new phone with Half the spec and battery life. Look at Asus tuf. I cancelled this laptop instanty and changed it to that

I d probably suggest using it for a little bit to make sure it has no manufacturer defects, check everything, and then go for a RAM upgrade. When you open it - you will break manufacturer seal, which will void the manufacturer warranty. Thank You for the feedback

45W is the max power that videocard can get. In laptops it is significantly lower than in desktops, that’s why desktop versions are much faster. At lower power it saves the battery life and heats less but also works slower than one with more available power, desktop version gets like 3 times more power. Laptop version vary more, so one with more max power is faster. Either way 4060 is very good

It’s ok, $1200 combined with ram and ssd, that laptop was as low as $800 on black friday at bestbuy. Now prices are higher on laptops with 4050/4060 and even most of models with 4070. 32gb of ram is a very noticeable upgrade. It will be much faster in many programs and games

It will probably discharge faster than it charges. So after a few hours you would have to let it rest. I have an easy solution for you: get a desktop with nice monitor - much better than laptop for gaming. I can’t even play on a laptop - so uncomfortable

You can skip it during setup Don't connect to WiFi or ethernet Press Shift-f10 Type OOBE\BYPASSNRO into the CMD window, hit enter and it'll reboot allowing limited setup without the ms account

Revit needs more RAM. This one has 8gb out of the box, that’s why I upgraded it to 32GB

I5 with 16gb gonna be faster than i7 with 8gb. Gameslist will be more limited by RTX 4060 anyway. If you are into unscrewing laptops and changing parts and losing warranty - then I would put 32gb into Cyborg with i7. Otherwise out of the box one with i5 gonna be better because 8gb of ram is terrible. 16gb is fine. And you get 1TB SSD. So one with i5 is better.

Same with i7 would be better. Ones with i5 are usually around $100 less and a bit slower. There won’t be difference in some games that put more stress on videocard. Having enough ram and a good videocard is most important

It is good to disconnect the battery before doing any upgrades. Even better to discharge it to zero and then disconnect before installing ram/ssd. I hope the upgrade didn’t break it. If you try to disconnect the cable - discharge it and disconnect the battery before doing it. Be careful. You may have to use external speakers or headphones if that won’t help. Because one screw had security seal unscrewing which generally voids the warranty

@@alegreviews I fixed the speakers. I literally just Re-seated the speaker connector and BAM sound came back

high power 4050 is probably about as fast as 4060 45W, depending on the game - it might be faster. 4060 though will heat less, so probably battery life is going to be better. I am not sure if there will be any difference between AMD and Intel CPUs in gaming, games will be limited by 4050/4060. AMD surely has better integrated graphics if you gonna use it for minecraft or something. 8GB RAM is definitely weak. Needs an upgrade. Either one is fine, buy one that You physically like more and brand that You like more. You may also want to check screen characteristics, I think TUF Dash product line is improved this year. I recently reviewed one with 4070 ($1000 bestbuy black friday deal) - if You have money - buy one with 4070. Also Victus at Costco with i7-13700, 16GB, 1TB SSD & RTX 4070 - also $1000 right now

Go for the ASUS one when you want GAMING! They advertise this cyborg series like a gaming laptop but it's not. It doesn't have any mux switch! - google this before you purchase. You're welcome.

It was $800 the lowest I think and there were better deals with full power 4060 at $800 (i7,16gb,512/1tb and 4060). There was a Lenovo Legion for $850 at antonline (they also sell on walmart, ebay, newegg), there was a Dell like that for 800/850 at bestbuy and a bunch of others. 4050 at 45w is probably as fast as 4050. You get some advantage of lower heat/ better battery life on that 4060 compared to full power 4050. Best would be is to get a laptop with 4060 around 800-850-900. Or 4070 for 1000-1100. At 10-15% if you get something premium like Omen, Alienware

I5 12th gen is fine. Games will be still mostly limited by videocard, as for the RAM - it just has to be enough. 8gb - bad, 16gb - good, 32gb - should be enough for everything. RAM is easy to upgrade in these though. CPU and GPU - you cannot. So if we compare i5, 16gb, rtx 4060 - it will definitely be faster than even a theoretical i9 13th gen, 8gb ram, rtx 4060 8gb ram is just asking to be upgraded. Even if same 4060 and 16gb ram - you may not notice many games that will show any noticeable difference between i5 and i7 of 12th gen. But if it was a theoretical laptop with RTX 4080/4090 and 32gb ram - i5 and i7 versions would make a big difference. The laptop in the video was $800 on sale and will be again on black friday - best is to buy it and upgrade ram to 32gb for about $80-90 you can find good Corsair RAM or for like $20-25 or so just add another stick of 8GB to make it 16gb. But you ll lose warranty if you upgrade. So without any modifications 16gb ram + i5 12th gen is faster than i7 12th gen + 8gb ram.

MSI are pretty reliable, when manufacturers build laptops so everything is good, otherwise they go bankrupt because they provide 1 year warranty. Also 4060 is about as fast as 3070 so it will heat less for similar performance.

No, chargers just supplies the laptop needs and extra goes towards battery. You will get faster charging with more powerful power adapter and probably make your battery life smaller at a faster rate

@TonyLightTravel 4050 is definitely weaker than 4060. It is all about at what price you buy. This Cyborg was $800 and will be again. Extra $80-90 to get to 32GB RAM, nothing beats that price.

@TonyLightTravels you need good quality screen for good video editing, not just computer specs. You d probably need something like Legion 5 Pro. Cyborg as well as other basic gaming product lines (victus, tuf dash, dell g series etc) have cheap screens. But it really depends on your budget

@@alegreviews yeah my budget is pretty low at the moment to many other unexpected things I'm using an Acer swift 3 uhd 620 to edit my videos no gpu now so I would expect better than that with the Acer predator? I had a few of these, gave to current owners, no issues. I upgraded one of them to 16gb ram and another to 32gb. Stock 8gb is too small nowadays. Videocard is low power so it will slower than most other 4060, but it helps with heating, and theoretically battery life and long term reliability. It’s all about the price you pay for it. When it was at $800 on sale it was the best deal, but later on it might have been lower on Black Friday. If you don’t want to upgrade ram - get something else with 16/32gb ram. And better deals pop up every now and then.

I would go without whatever is on sale and best specs for the money

So is it 8gb ram or 16gb. Prices dropped a bit since then. It would be a good deal a few months ago. Prices in Canada are probably higher so it’s fine. If you have only 8gb ram - it’s low, gonna be a weak spot. If 16gb then it’s fine

Any modern motherboard works either with ddr4 or ddr5 Laptop ram will not work with desktops and vice versa

$800 on sale great price. But 8gb of ram is bad, but easy to upgrade to 16/32gb

I like msi cyborg as a model and brand more than asus tuf. I'd probably still go with Cyborg from the video, it is going back to $800 at bestbuy for Black Friday sales. As for the TUF - there will be TUF with i7 16gb and RTX 4070 for $1000 at BestBuy on Black Friday - it will be probably the best deal. From those 2 You mentioned - I would pick whatever I like more: buttons, looks etc

If you say you want a gaming laptop you should consider too if what kinds of games you want like competitive or just casual games or you want AAA games, if only casual games, you don't need to worry about the watts of GPU. If you're into competitive and AAA games that requires FPS go for the high watt GPU laptop

Be nice to it, there was also tape on it in my case. So got tape* off a bit. It was kinda harder the first time I took it off and easy afterwards

Weaker brick just means it will discharge being on charge while gaming. And I think its GPU is low power version. So it’s not the best but gonna heat less

@volextheviper5906 3070 is probably a bit faster than than 4060 in this cyborg. 32gb of ram will make a difference in some games, in some no difference CPUs generally don’t make a difference for gaming.

It was initially 1200, then 1100, last time was on sale for $800 which is really low for what it is

That was the price just recently. Gaming laptops prices went down by a lot in the last couple of months. $800 is kinda too good, as if it’s like a black friday deal. $1100 is not bad. Most of gaming laptops at $1100 in stores are worse than that. 4060 is great after all, but 8gb ram is a bit downside, luckily it is easily upgradable

There are many versions of it with different ram, cpu, ssd, videocard. 8gb is too low, 16-good, 32-excellent I5 12th-13th gen is fine if the price is good. Otherwise better to get with 8gb and upgrade to 16-32. Rtx 4060 is good too Might not be big difference in games i5 or i7. Similar to 16gb or 32gb. Videocard is most important
