Gooooooooood after morning and welcome to another Turbo Tortoise Tech review!
This is the second of the new series from MSI that we get to throw at the Wooks and this shapes up as a really good budget gaming panel. 1440p res, 170hz refresh rate with some DP overclocking, a 1ms response time and a VA panel makes it pop. The brightness isn't the greatest EU but the effect wasn't at diminished by that much to this reviewers surprise and it has a nice little trick up it sleeve for the console user. Join the Wooks with his review of this sick new 32" from MSI!

I just picked up the Samsung G5 yesterday, for my Xbox series X, returning it today for the newer model (with tilt) of this MSI. I’m still fiddling with the settings but I can already tell you this MSI is much better. Sturdier stand that has plenty of movement. It’s brighter, smoother and the colour is popping nice. The enhancement should definitely be shut off though as it made everything look grainy. I was really disappointed by the G5 to be honest. Very happy I swapped it for this! @@gamingzone-xj1oi It does have occasional ghosting but not that bad honestly. I’m still loving this monitor, no regrets. 4K super sampled on this made me question why I didn’t get one of these sooner!

MSI is deeply undervalued by consumers. They never show up in Google, but when you dig into their offerings, they typically give you the best specs at the best price with no frills. Just feels like you're taking a risk cuz sometimes you can't even find a review on their products. Bought a gaming laptop from them a few years ago that saved me $1000k compared to similar competitors, and now I'm looking at their 240hz 1440p 32" monitor that is $400 cheaper than samsung's G7.

Great review , however , how is the ghosting or black smearing on this panel ?

Smear is there but mostly around the edges. The ghosting is low unless you use the image enhancement setting. Check at 3:32 where I discuss that setting

If the image enhancement is on it does feel like that but turning it off made it a lot more fluid

4k isn't really possible with the Xbox as it uses scaling to get there so this should be a good pairing

I just got this monitor. My previous screen was LG 32uk550-b (2019 model) (4K, 60 Hz), both 32'". My overall issue is that the overall monitor experience is kinda blurry. I tried some of the MSI settings (turning Adaptive Sync on/off, change the Game Modes pre-sets (FPS, User, RPG, etc), Toggling Img Enhancement Off, but still, I am not getting a not-blurry view of things. Things get worse with smaller objects (such as browser tab tittles, urls, windows main bar, windows shortcuts etc, files icons and file names). My GPU is PNY VGA P2200 5GB Quadro 5GB GDDR5X and everything was so smooth for my eyes with the 4k 60 HZ LG. I was thinking if all this is due to the fact of resolution change, meaning that for the past 4 years I was using a 4k resolution monitor. Would love to hear your thoughts if things can get better even for simple stuff such as desktop experience through settings, or its a 2K vs 4K thing.

Definitely coming down to pixel density. Your other monitor will have nearly 2x as much PPI and in general would be hard to compare to something with less than half the effective resolution

Is this monitor 8bit + FRC or 10bit?

Pretty sure it's straight 8-bit. Most of the 10 bit panels are also IPS cause of delta variance

Slight due to the VA nature but it's not too bad when you turn off the image enhancement

It's HDR "ready" so would suggest using the settings I spoke of in the vid for best results

What's up with that Johnny Bravo haircut on the preview?😂 I literally clicked on the video just to make this comment and ask the question😅 (modern monitors are not my thing... I'm content with my 60Hz Toshiba tv and 75Hz ~15yo Samsung monitor 😅😂)
