Hi there, iam thinkijg to get this laptop With specs I7 10gen Gtx1660ti 1tb hdd and 256 ssd If u hve same specs can u tell me how is it for gaming? I need answer asap
Hi mate hope your doing well, 1 year on, I have bought this laptop from UK, Currys PC world for £779 on sale ☺️ Receiving it tmrw hopefully and I am trynna look at all reviews b4 getting it 🤞😊
Awesome video. I ordered an MSI GS66 Stealth with i7 10750h six core, 12 threads, 16Gb ddr4, Gtx 1660 ti 6Gb gddr6, 1Tb ssd, 15,6" 240Hz Ips screen for 1428 USD. But the craving for my first ever RTX gpu and stronger cpu got the better of me and i returned the MSI for a Legion 5 15 with Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060 130W TDP, 16Gb DDR4 3200MHz RAM and 15,6 1080p 165Hz, 1Tb m.2 nvme ssd, with white backlighting on a truestrike keyboard with black keys byt hybrid mode stopped working and resulted in black screen after turning on hybrid mode and rebooting. So i returned it for a Legion 5 17: 17,3" 144Hz 1080p screen, Ryzen 7 5800H, RTX 3060 130W TDP, 512Gb nvme ssd, 16Gb DDR4 3200MHz. This thing is a high end beast. I only wish it had a rgb-keyboard too. It only have white backlight on the keyboard.
I have this laptop as a main, got it for my 15th birthday about a year or 2 back, and I decided to find a video on it, and I have learned quite a lot about it. thanks to this video, I will be able to get the best use out of this laptop from here on out.
@@thomassumers5227 Helll yea, ive got it for 4 months today. Not a single issue. Can play every game at the highest graphics. Still play with 144 fps. Buy this laptop m8. Good choice for the money:)
I've had my GF75 16gb & 1tb hd a few monthes now. Cost over 1k, well worth it though. Literally don't have a single complaint. If you're debating buying one then do it, you will 100% have no regrets.
@@okebags8368 that depends, anywhere between 5 and 7 hours for what you described, in my experience. 8 or so for writing on word if doing nothing else. I could get more if I ran it on eco mode. I rarely run it on battery alone as I use it for gaming mainly so have it plugged in. If you want a laptop just for casual work then you could look at a much cheaper laptop like an Asus Zenbook 13. Still a good spec but has really good battery life and is about 400 cheaper. But if you like to game then MSI is a cost effective way of doing it.
Could you share your configuration for the battery to last that long. I've been using mine in high performance mode with 100 brightness screen and it's giving me like 2 hours top. Maybe the battery is defective...
@@IkixxZummaz turn the screen brightness down and run it at a lower speed. Full brightness and high performance mode will eat the battery life. What are you using it for out of interest,
@@mrpotatomanxvii8352 if you mean games wise then I tryed playing lots of games but my problem was the battery life was terrible and the fan was like a jet engine and it got quite hot. I tryed playing csgo, microsoft flight simulator 2020 and among us although they run pretty good it just died within 30 min of playing and it was really hot.
My local Costco has a very similar model to the one you’re reviewing (GF75 Thin 10SCSR-448) Although it’s a 10 Gen Intel Core i5,it looks like an affordable powerhouse.Your vid is making my decision making so much easier...🤔
@@kingmessi5961 No! Instead,I went with the Lenovo Legion 5 15”. It came with an Intel Core i7 10th Gen,16GB and great storage options(512GB SSD NVMe main drive and 1TB HDD)...
Buying this second hand in 2024 to use while travelling for work. Desktop back home makes this look like a toaster, but for £300 you can't really do better without serious compromise!
That's pretty slick Roger. I'm thinking of getting rid of my Windows 10 desktop and Go for a Laptop. Thanks for the Video...In case no one has told you today, YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!👍🏾
Thank you for this informative video I just purchased this laptop as I'm going to be away on business for 6 months and stress relief will be in the form of this laptop on Fortnite & COD. Thanks again.
After a lot of research I ordered this laptop today and it will be delivered tomorrow. When I saw this very clear informative video I am now sure I made the right choice. Thanks for editing and uploading! Regards, MR.M@NNY Eindhoven The Netherlands.
@@gowrisankarc1049 i love it, the price for the specs is fair, nice design, good keyboard and display. It gets very warm on AAA games or higher settings but thats a problem of the laptops overall, because of the small housing. with the dragon center app from msi you can adjust Performance/fan speed manually. Upgrading the SSD or RAM is easy. I also have an gaming pc tower of course power and cooling in a laptop is always a compromise but in my opinion MSI did a very good job! I love it
@@_Area-51 hmm how long have you had it for? And also i need help with this question which would you prefer the Acer Nitro 5 or the MSI GF75 and thanks for the reply.
@@mehdielayoubi2696 na mate it’s been all good apart from at the start I was having some issues with the cpu heat, it was around 93degrees when playing games like fortnite and Star Wars battlefront 2, I had to turn cooling boost on and cap my cpu usage at 99% rather than 100%
I bought it yesterday and will get IT tomorrow.... In Austria he costs 1.313€ with Rabatt 1.199€.... I will use IT for school (Photoshop, C#, Java,....) and a bit at home By the way... Thx for the vid
@@bintangaditya3699 If I'm playing minecraft or just using it lightly I always put the slider on best battery instead of best performance and that helps alot
@@fries6875 essentially a mux is a switch that swaps between your dedicated gaming Nvidia GPU and your integrated GPU . Without one, the system always displays through the iGPU, bottlenecking it. The 3D Nvidia GPU will render the graphics then send it through the iGPU.
Can you shed some light on the cooling exhausts near the bottom of the screen? Whether it heats up the bottom portion of the screen or is it harmful for the screen in long gaming sessions? Thanks
@@_Area-51 yes, for sure, the hinges are so tight, it can not be opened one handed from the side. The laptop is great otherwise, but so sad in 21st century manufacturers have problems to make a reliable hinges.
hey, what d0 y0u think about msi gf65 vs msi gf75 thin from your video both from curry website ? i would like a laptop from gaming but i am stuck between this 2 ? they have b0th same specificati0n the only diferece its fr0m 15 inch and 17 and the graphic vide0 msi gf75 thins has GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB and the msigf65 has RTX 2060 CAN Y0U GIVE ME AN REComandation ? the price its 999 for msi gf65 and 1099 for msi gf75 thin
I have some questions about your review. You state it has an audio and mic input. How would it work for a headset with mic? Secondly, I was wondering if you found the edges of the keyboard to be pointy and uncomfortable on the wrists. Thanks
You buy gaming headsets that have the splitter cable or just do what I do, (I hate cables) and use the 5.1 Bluetooth headphones. I think you can get gaming headsets for about £25 on eBay or even some game shops will have them.
Hi, I can't decide which I have to get. MSI GF75 Thin 10SCSR or MSI GL75 10SDR. I need it for school and sometimes gaming. The GF75 got 1.5tb storage, and the GL75 500gb. Which one do you prefer?
Thank you very much for the kind words! 🙏🏻🙂 In the UK, this is about £1200. The price does depend on the exact specs though. In the USA, it’s a little bit harder to say. Most of the time I refer to Amazon for pricing but I think some of the large American stores like Walmart have special deals now and again. Is there something in particular you had in mind?
@@LifeofTechUK Yes I always wanted a MSI gaming laptop and I looked at the price of the 10sdr and it is a bit pricey but do you know any other good GF75 thin laptops that are just over 800 dollars like 15 dollars more or under 800 dollars?
I bought the laptop in the video I had a question while playing the battery consumes a lot you can not play without a power supply is the battery broken? Or is it because gaming that consumes so much, thank you in advance and great video 👍🏼
What does he exactly mean by that tho? Just that the colors aren't perfect? Found the same notebook with 16GB and slightly better specs for a few bucks more and just specswise it should handle ps/ae just as good as my PC I feel like
Nice review there mate, I bought this laptop a couple of weeks ago and I noticed that the average temperature of CPU stays around 55 to 60 degree celcius and reaches 95 degrees. I was wondering, did you repaste the thermal compound?
@@vtggas_2958 I sent my laptop to service and its still remained the same. I didn't try to repaste it by myself. It is the way this hardware is. My recommendation is not to repaste it and not bother about it. I have been working with this laptop for small machine learning projects as well as gaming for a year now. I do not really have any issue with it regarding thermal throttling.
1:12 you said that the graphics card is 1660 ti but on Amazon it’s written that the graphics card is 1650 ti, as well as on all of the tech channels. So I am pretty confused, is it 1660 ti or 1650 ti.
Thanks for the review, I really like the look, but I am not a gamer, so I am not interested for gaming, and also there is not this model in nearby market to visit and take a look, but it is available online, so I can buy it, however I have a some concerns, you mentioned that this is not a good for video editing, perhaps for image too, then, so it is not good for what reason? and how much not good? yeh, I know workstation is the best case for pro, but also cost a lot and I am not a pro, next, is the screen 178o angle view? other question come is this an acceptable option for say 3D modelling ? or software development (say run VisualStudio ets.)? everyone says gaming comp is good or not good for gaming, but no one compares this model with other-propose model? why dont you bring a few different model into comparison in terms of gaming/general/design task? (say Vis.Studo, Adobe photoshop, ilustrator, premier, 3D ets.) I have an option to chose say between 9th and 10oth CPU, 8-32GB, 1650 - 1660ti,, I mean should I go for 1660ti / 9th i7 or better to have 1650 / 10th i7, or maybe some other options could be compromise in favour of other. a bit confused. one more concern I read is the video output , is this compatible with external screen? Thanks. ,
Hi, "Life of Tech" Thanks so much for this review. Please, let me know it this Laptop would be suitable as an engineering design laptop together with number-crunching capability.
Hi mate..I am a new youtuber and lot to do work on my editing that's why i ordered this laptop 3 days ago but now after watching ur reviews I am confused about using Adobe premier pro for editing into this laptop.can u plz give me some suggestions regarding this matter also can u advice me a budget friendly laptop where i can use adobe premiere pro for vedio editing. Thankx in advance
I have this laptop for like 7 months and the only problem with him was that he was really loud so i gave it to the service and we’ll see if they’ll fix it
pretty good reviewer will going for it, playing alot NFS and wow... current laptop not perform well with force install windows 11. double checked list for windows 11.
Hi, do you know if it is possible to connect 2 external monitors and show different content on each ? I tried some usbc adapters etc. but didn‘t work. Thank you
I currently have an MSI PE70 6QE and love it and how quiet it is, however the hinges are an absolute nightmare. I bought it second hand and a week later, the cover broke where the hinge is and I wondered whether the hinges are still a problem with this laptop. Also, how loud do the fans get as mine is really quiet when gaming. Thanks in advance
@@yayo3036 I've read that the newest are meant to be better but I have a chance to buy a second hand one from a second hand place and they say the warranty covers the hinge if it's not opened using a lot of force and breaks. I sent them a photo of mine when it happened and explained I only open it gently anyway and asked if that would be covered and they never replied. I'm looking at maybe a Lenovo Legion 5 next... Maybe a 7
I’m just wondering, is the performance any different with an intel10th gen i5 processor? For Christmas I got the GF75 with a i5 instead of an i7. So just let me know if it’s any different
Hi I bought the Indian varient of i7 9th gen 1650ti 144hz and so and so. The thing is that the battery charging time is taking very long. Is it common or a defect?
@@benjamincromwell3625 it can be upgraded to 64GB, it's an awesome laptop. Runs games like GTA V on very high graphic settings no problem, and that's not even using its max power mode. I upgraded the ram to 16GB which is plenty for most things imo
Hey! The colours are not bad. Everything looks good...but if you need the display to show very accurate colours for video and graphic editing, I would not pick this laptop. If you are mainly playing games though and stuff like that, the colours are fine :)
