@@jake9854 how do u know that? because I own a laptop with the same architectures (coffee lake + turing) but the different models and the combo is great!
@@sinahormozi8901 i know because the 9750h is not being stretch to it's fullest potential. cauz the 1650 is way too weak , this is like a Ferrari with flat tires . this is pretty much a 1050ti, bad just bad...
@@jake9854 that is assuming you are mainly buying it for gaming of course. My main gripe is that I think it is overpriced , 60 hz panel, smaller battery, low powered GPU. $800 would be a better price I think.
Not regretting buying an 8th gen rtx 2070 laptop after seeing those cinebench numbers! I saw so many sources/sites claiming the i7 9750h would likely be 8 cores but just seems to be a pretty small performance increase over the 8750h. Interested to see how the 9750h runs temp wise. Most current laptops can't cool the i7 8750h very well without tweaks. Probably wise of Intel to stick to 6 cores since 8 cores in these thin laptops would be like a flamethrower anyways lol. Love your reviews by the way! Keep it up! :)
It'll run cooler while giving the same performance or run the same and give better performance. You're just one of those people patting themselves on the back trying to hold back regrets because you bought before a refresh LMAOO
@@aokoaozaki yoy lol patting myself on the back? All I was saying is people with 8th gen wouldn't see much of a difference upgrading since there is no huge change in core count or CPU architechure. I'd likely still take the 8th gen laptop over the 9th if it saved me $$$ lol. If it did have 8 cores that could be cooled properly or built on 10 nm architechure with less power/better thermals than I'd regret it 👍. Pretty much figured both those things weren't happening this generation. Did you actually see the cinebench scores? So yeah... sorry if my comment basically got you salty over nothing 🤣
Great review Stephen, I wonder is the MOBO chipset still the old z370 or did they upgrade to z390 for the 9th gen intel coffee lake refresh mobile CPUs (what a moutfull XD)?
@@OWNORDISOWN Thanks for the info! I guess I can tolerate the 370 for the 6 core, i7 9750H. BUT I'm skeptical about the z370's VRM and mosfits handling, let alone overclocking the 8C/16T i9 9880H/HK. Also that sweet native support for USB 3.1 Gen2 instead of slow USB third party controllers, plus Integrated Connectivity (CNVi). Z390 or bust OEMs it's Q2 2019 not Q3 2017!
@@Frencho9I agree ! Gigabyte is launching a new Aero 15 with the 9980hk. I was wondering why they don't just stick with the 9980h, must be cheaper and probably offer the same performance in that chassis. I would love that configuration !
Hi, great video! Been a fan for the past few months!! I have a question, not too sure if it's been answer before. Is there a difference between a (RTX 2060 Desktop) vs (RTX 2060 Laptop) vs (RTX 2060 Max-Q) in terms of gaming performance??
Glad you like my channel 👍I've not seem a 2060 max Q one yet, but the 2060 is like a 1070 max Q which in turn is about 15 to 20% behind a GTX 1070. A desktop 2060 is like a GTX 1070 so I would say the difference between the laptop 2060 and desktop 2060 is about 20%
I was really hoping dell would be able to squeeze a 1660ti into the xps 15 but I guess it would have faced pretty bad thermal throttling. EDIT: Just checked and the tdp for the 1660ti is 80W compared to 75W for the 1050ti, which didn't get too hot in the XPS 15 9570. Surely they must be able to spec it with a 1660ti.
Hey...nice review. can you confirm how does it compare to 1050ti I am looking to buy gf63 with 1650maxq or should i go with legion y7000 with 1050ti? Your answer would be very helpful Both cost around 740$
I'm always thankful to u. Your clips had made me decided which laptop to buy. Keep up the good work! Suggestion: By the end of the video u were talking abt how u like the thin bezel, it would b nice if u would edit a close-up shot of the bezel while u speak
the concept design looks great but I doubt about those hinges. It helps the fan can get more air but I rarely open my laptop to that angle (looks like 130°- 140°) so it won't be too useful for me. Such as I can try to do that, maybe when I press the keyboard too hard and it will push the monitor back to normal angle? (about 90- 110°?). And the air vent will blow hot air towards the monitor and hinges, does it make them weaker?
Awesome - first to market with the 1650 review :D Whats the boom arm you use (noticed it in the background of this video attached to your desk) Edit: Also I am shocked to see an MSI laptop without an upside-down mobo!
very nice review and presentation, Thank you. got to ask your opinion on the following. I am about to take GF75 i7 10th with GTX1650ti equipped with 144Hz IPS-level screen, the question is what is you opinion/experience/expectation on color accuracy and view angle of such screen? the goal is NOT gaming. general use
Thanks for the first impression review man. Between msi gp63-1050t1 and this gf75 which one is better, i almost buy the gp63 but suddenly today i see this gf75. Do you think gf75 will have good cooling like gp63?
The design is good, it's clean and doesn't scream/present itself as a gaming laptop..if they could change the red accents (or have other color) i think it will be better.
Great review sir but i have a question if i buy the msi GTX1650 core i7 16gb 512nvme ssd im i gonna be able to play games at 60 fps ore more with ultra or high settings or no ? Thank in advance

@@OWNORDISOWN Great technical review, really glad to see you take the back off it too so I know how easy it is going to be to install the extra storage. I was ready to comment about the single / dual channel RAM but see that there was a lengthy discussion on this already! Fortunately with the new GE75-283 MSI are now installing two 16GB RAM cards so this also will not be an issue. The only thing I may need to do is a re-paste but I'll see what the thermals are like first. I see that Gizmo also got his test laptop from HIDEvolution and that his CPU had a -50mv under-volt. I'll await Bob's video and see what he has to say! Either way its a good upgrade from my current GS43VR which is still going great.
Awesome review! And Thank You for being quick to deliver it 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Thoughts: MSI new panel opening mechanism is awesome and a breath of fresh air in terms of affordability compared to asus'. Intel's rebrand of 8750h Is a let down to be honest (why no AMD laptop competition -.-) Since nvidia has allowed 1060+ to RTX, I have felt less of a need to upgrade. That said, If I can sell my current OL-LP3 and MSI GP73, I'd definitely jump on the eluktronics deal given my love for the chassis and keyboard 🙏🏽 What to test: Push the 9750h to the limit 😉
Isn't mobile 8th gen released on March/April 2018? I remember a friend buying a 8750H in May/June already. Really speedy benchmark btw, now I just have to wait for Bob's!
like it! would be interesting to see a laptop with a gtx 1660ti but I don't suppose we will! overall though not bad for a first gaming laptop, many thanks for showing.
can you please say me, does this have true color technology? Is the screen suitable for making long-term drawing ? What's the difference other than the p65ten design of this model? i wanted to get the p65 but i couldn't decide the price of this much more affordable.
The GF75 has good colour accuracy of 94% sRGB and 71% adobeRGB but it doesn't have that True Colour option in the software. I though the display looked good. Please see my review for full details including the software on it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3eupdS2yk3o.html
Can you benchmark the 9750h alone with cinebench etc so we know if it's really 5% difference with the 8750h and not even beating the 8850h ? A dedicated video only about that :o
Please do a review on the msi gs75 with gtx1660ti and all the Asus zephyrus laptop's of 2019 and also the Razer blade pro 17 2019. Steve you have a lot of laptop's to go through so have fun.
to much red :( the gs65 has a much more clean design seriously, what's the deal with over doing it with red? it just makes the laptop scream "look at me, I"m special" when its really not that much
I agree so much. I hate the "look at me im a gamer" aesthetic. dell is the one company that got it right with the G series gaming laptops. Minimal aesthetics, beastly components inside.
Hey I need help : I've got a MSI GF75 laptop and want to add a SSD to it, but I haven't been able to open the plastic cover. After removing all of the screws, it just doesn't "pop straight off". Not only that, but it stays tightly fixed to the laptop and even with an old credit card I can't move it at all. Any ideas and/or tips ? Thanks !
I used to use an old drivers licence but found the plastic tools you can buy on Amazon much more effective as they are more rigid. Also I sometimes use a small suction cup ( I use one from kids tooth brush holder) and that allows you create a gap to shove the tool into. There is always a spot that has more give 😀
well, i7 8750h never gets 1250 points unless it's undervolted. Having that result at stock on the new CPU without any undervolt looks promicing to me. I wonder what results it would show with undervolt
@@TabalugaDragon True. I just wanted to mention that I scored 1305 in Cinebench R15 with Throttlestop tweaks. The 9750H is probably the same chip just clocked higher, so you have less undervolting room. It may not be that much better against the 8750H fully tweaked. hwbot.org/submission/4080864_installed64_cinebench___r15_core_i7_8750h_1305_cb
@@stephenathon 9750h is tweakable too, but I agree there probably wouldn't be much difference there. How did you achieve such high result though? I have dual channel RAM at 2666 mhz and with undervolt of -160mv(where I get consistent 3.9 for all cores throughout the test) I can't get above 1260 cb on my 8750h. Probably you have the higher power limit time window? idk.
@@TabalugaDragon Yeah, it will be interesting to watch the hwbot site for maximum Cinebench results on the 9750h. If the chips are better binned 8750h's then it's probable they will perform very favorably, and thermal/power headroom will be critical to sustain those higher clock speeds. I tweaked several things such as power limits, speedshift, etc. You can find Throttlestop screenshots here forum.notebookreview.com/threads/tongfang-gk5cn5z-gk5cn6z-gk5cq7z-gk5cp0z.815943/page-379#post-10869138 I don't necessarily recommend these settings for everyday use, but just to get higher CB scores. Also, I "cheated" by setting Windows task priority to realtime.
The only thing that doesn't suit me is the red keyboard backlight. If it would be possible to programmatically change its color to white, it would be great.

Definitely, will all be in my review. I have done all my game testing, CPU tests. Monday I will do screen, speakers, chassis temps and fan noise 👍 I have undervolted it and overclocked it. This thing purrs.
I dont think the 9th gen upgrade on the cpu is worth the price boost when a 1060 outperforms it..since we are looking for gaming machines after all not content creation in laptops like the msi g line
I use this laptop but when i tested on Cinebench R15 like u do, I only got around 1020 - 1080 points *Tested while charging, Cooler Boost Mode, and follow your ThrottleStop settings* Can u help me? What am i missed?
I was playing BF V on the MSI GF75 last night and the CPU was in the 80s. Clock rate held quite steady too at about 3800 to 4000 MHz. No tweaking. About 45 to 50w. In overwatch it was only pulling 25 w so was in the 60s. My latest video shows how the Y740 performed.
I think I calculated that the 1650 will be 25 to 30% faster than the max Q I have which will make it slightly behind the 1060. The new CPU may help a bit with it's higher clocks. I think it will fall in between the 1050Ti and GTX 1060. I would go with the 1060 unless there is a good price advantage.

MSI has good value to money in term of specs, but poor quality in term of physical, i.e hinge quality is easy to break and crack even when we use it carefully.
imho acer helios 300 w/ 8750h & 1060 gpu would be the perfect baseline to compare ALL next gen laptops to. helios 300 was wildly popular and still ave for $1,000 on amazon. meaning if next gen laptop is selling for $1700...is it 70% better than helios 300 ?
