Meledyne yeah, my gtx 970 OC'd gets 13400 (gpu score) and it allows me to play all games at 1080p at 60 fps, give or take a few where shadows or view distance may have to be reduced at bit. I'm surprised so many people are willing to spend this much money on a graphics card when most people still only have 1080p monitors or TV's ☺
on newegg you can get them for $440 www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127955&SortField=0&SummaryType=0&PageSize=10&SelectedRating=-1&VideoOnlyMark=False&IsFeedbackTab=true#scrollFullInfo
+Parker Dougherty (Predemic) appreciate the answer but sadly I am from europe and the possibilities are not endless :P I really really like the support I get via amazon aswell so I would also pay more to get the same card anyway.
Since you seem to have access to many of the aftermarket 1070's, could you please do a direct benchmark/pricing/heat/noise comparison for them? You could be the first on youtube to do this, and it would help a lot of buyers determine what suits them.
I don't think I will be able to get my hands an all of them that soon. I'm probably going to have the Gainwards version pretty soon, later on maybe Asus, Palit, Zotac and EVGA, but don't know when exactly!
So what's your fan profile on afterburner with that OC. Dead silent Twin Frozr works with MSI Gaming App for my understanding. If I'm right then how to set it up/copy in/to afterburner?
are the fans protected by its surround construction? I worry about them colliding with my case since it is 4.2 cm compared to the 3.5 cm of my GTX 970.
I have a Fractal core 500 and I need to care about the "thickness" of the card (sorry, I am from germany and it is sometimes difficult to find the correct words). It would collide with the left side where the ventilation-openings are. Other possible scenario: the back-plate causes the PCI-power-connector to be even more pressed since the PSU (ATX) is quite large. With the MSI 970 it is just about "alright". Do you know what I mean? :-)
I think you'll be fine. Take a look at the 2:43 in the video. You see that top metal plate of the I/O? I've put a ruler on it and went over the GPU with and looking at the gap between the ruler and the fans, it had like few mm of clearance.
Pone Nvidia y es MSI no entiendo yo tengo una igual que acabo de comprar de 2 mano la detecta Windows..debo instalar algo mas? Busque en msi drivers y no sale😢
+TekTick I am about to buy a card and i am very confused which is better as the prices almost so close on Amazon now ( only 6 USD difference ) which isn't a big deal , between MSI gaming ( without X ) GTX 1070 or Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX 1070 ? or should i get the X version ? Gigabyte seems to be faster core clock out of the box but had very loud and noisy fans and cheap plastic design compared to last gen and so many people RMA their cards because of that , while this one despite being too strong and aesthetically more appealing , has bigger memory clock which has no significant effect on performance and seems struggling to increase with core clock despite it have two power cords 6+8 pins and consumer too much power than Gigabyte which seems a huge let down compared to the results i have seen, it should beat Gigabyte in terms of speed but it didn't Can you please make a video comparing those two exact models because seems like the whole internet has no one ever thing to compare such relatively close rivalry cards before, Cheers and keep up the good work
I got a concern, I'm using this GPU for almost a month now in terms of game cut scenes and watching movie the graphics and pixels are not that great and crispy but while on gaming its super clear, clearly the opposite while on game, my monitor is Asus 279.. is it on my monitor settings?? I mean its 27 inches but its max resolution is full HD 1080p. this is my first PC build so please bare with me tnx!
This or the Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming 1070? Its my first build and im not brand fan lol Awesome video btw, very informative, keep it up with the great work !!
I can decide between the GTX 1070 SC and Gaming X 1070. Both are the same price. Which would be the better purchase? Is the Gaming X overall faster then the 1070 SC from EVGA?
I don't think that speed matters that much cause as pretty much every single GTX 1070 can hit the same max GPU speed when OC-ed (around 2050 MHz), rendering comparison in performance between all of them pointless. My main focus here would be the cooling potential, how quiet is it is and eventually design as a last item.
I don't know what to tell you, everything is laid out in both of my videos. You need to make the final decision. I'm a noise freak and I would probably take the MSI's.
Hi does it require both the 8-pin and 6-pin power connector to be connected or can it run on only the 8-pin and is the 6-pin additional for overclocking purposes??
Thanks for the reply... I guess I must get a new power supply than... Can you recommend one? I got 3 storage drives that require power, my cpu, gpu and my mb...
I'm gonna wait till next black Friday 2017 to build my gaming pc since these new graphics cards will definitely be back in stock by then and since being out for a whole year discounts for gpu's like the 1070 and rx 480 will be everywhere so my suggestion wait till next year to get the absolute best deal on your first gaming pc that's what I'm gonna do
With new GPU, ill find a stable 24/7 OC. Once i got it, i flash my bios with the new settings and dont need any tool to get my OC settings. Ofcourse this only works when there is a bios editor.
Is the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070 better than the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X it says the G1 Gaming has better base and boost clock speeds on the places I look.
As far as I can see, the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X is a tad better in OC mode than the Gigabyte's one in OC mode. You also can check out my review of the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1070 on the channel! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OLrntAs2X0U.html
+TekTick Thanks. I watched both your videos and the MSI version is slightly faster. Originally I was thinking about going with two 1070's in sli but now I'm considering just one 1080 instead.
Yeah, I know, my mistake. :( But it's basically the same as in the G1 Gaming Gigabyte Video - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OLrntAs2X0U.html
On the bright side the OC one is what really matters :) Watching your vids to decide what 1070 to buy with the black friday sales. What would you recommend? Currently debating between the MSI Gaming X and the Gigabyte G1 Gaming, both the same price on Newegg right now. G1 has higher clock speeds but the MSI shows higher benchmarks. Maybe you just won the silicon lottery with your MSI, seems to be only 2fps difference between the G1
I would go for the Gaming X, I didn't like how the fan profile worked on G1 Gaming and it seems like it's overall a bit louder. In terms of the performance, when you count in the OC, it's really negligible unless you get really lucky with silicon lottery :)
If the Strix one has higher clock speeds, than it's not. But you know what, it really doesn't matter, it's like 1-2% difference at most, which is margin of error. And beside that, you can always "compensate" by overclocking it further manually!
InfinityXBattle They are, but when it's like 10-20 MHz difference, it really doesn't matter bottom line. I'm not sure which one has higher clock, MSI or Asus? I think Asus from top of my head? But not that much higher. All of those GTX 1070 achieve pretty much the same maximum GPU clock speed when overclocked (2050-2100 MHz at best)
+jaro 53 well the FE 1080 gets so hot that it thermal throttles without an overclock. But hey if you want to spend all your money on a poorly cooled and less performing card, thats your business.
Real VR games of course Everyone is getting their oculus shipments now and the new series of graphics cards have just been released so it would be great to see some VR game benchmarks so we can see how the GTX 1070 really compares to the 1080 in real world VR Titles.
I am about to get mine and i am trying to decide between getting a gtx 1070 now then waiting and getting the 1080ti when it is released or just getting the Gtx1080 now the 1080 just seems like a waste knowing that the 1070 is enough for VR and alot cheaper and the 1080ti is right around the corner and will be way better then the 1080 I am honestly disappointed with what I have seen from the 1080 after all the hype but I need a better GPU for VR.
when i was building my new pc i was watching every single gaming wich card is best choice so every one pick msi gaming x gtx 1070 8gb i bought best card ever
I'm gonna wait till next black Friday 2017 to build my gaming pc since these new graphics cards will definitely be back in stock by then and since being out for a whole year discounts for gpu's like the 1070 and rx 480 will be everywhere so my suggestion wait till next year to get the absolute best deal on your first gaming pc that's what I'm gonna do
You can always wait another year to get the same performance for less money or even better performance for the same price. There is no right point to buy technology. Buy it when you need it and buy the best you can afford at that time.
