MSI Optix MAG271CR review - 1080p 144Hz VA gaming monitor

I have the MSI MPG27CQ and I can not have any complains about that. Btw I went from TN to this and I didnt even notice the bigger responce time and that colors are amazing especialy for me who was 5 years on TN panels.

Name me one monitor that is curved, is 144hz, is 1080p, has RGB, has (Free)Sync, is height adjustable and costs 250 bucks or below. I couldn't find any other than MAG241CR (the 24 inch model feels better than 27).

Just got this monitor. I'm very happy with it. As others have said, it's going to be very hard to find the perfect monitor. You have to find the one where the strengths of the monitor are relevant to you. I enjoy the curve, 144hz, good size and good response time.

If your wondering this monitor is a marvellous I just got mine today and the difference is drastic! It’s really good and if your into games like COD It’s totally Worth the pick up overall this monitor is amazing it is really good for gaming it’s better than a normal straight monitor The curved part makes this monitor 1 million times better I would totally suggest getting this monitor. It’s fairly cheap and affordable and I would totally suggest picking one of these up I’ve had this monitor for a day now and I’m thinking about getting a second 😂

Reviews are almost pointless since every monitor is unique. You can buy 2 identical monitors and one is flawless while the other have 4 problems.

This is very good gaming monitor. There is no ghosting with fast setting and input lag is very low.

I did buy MAG271C and returned it after a week. This VA panel has a big issue with fonts clarity - text is blurred whenever you are inside windows, browsing internet or using excel. I know that this is gaming monitor but reading anything on it was painfull for me and gives me a headache. You can find some reviews which confirms this issue and explain that it comes from the how the panel is built. I decided to go with teoretical worst TN 144Hz monitor but for me it was the only decision I could make.

One more thing to add. The low fake response time of 1ms can't be used with Freesync.

the ghosting is the deal breaker for me, back to TN panel I guess.

im using this monitor and hes graet, the blck are deeps the colors are beautiful and the 144 hz is so smooth

I'm confused. Isn't this a 1ms display? How can there be a higher input lag?

I am looking between the MSI Optix MAG271C and the ASUS VG248QG, which one is the better monitor both are currently 250 Euros.

Could you name other screens with better image quality and cheaper?

HDR is option for monitors with at least 400 nitts, this one has 300, so it's normal that it doesn't support HDR. Beside, it's great monitor for its price.

Response time for this monitor is 1ms, I dont understand why you said it has low response time. just looked up MSI's website.

The MSI Optix MAG271CR has 144hz and a reaction speed of 1ms, which means it is one of the best Monitors. But it's also quite expensive, bought it for 350€.

Do you Know How i Can activate The response Time to „fastest“, it Shows of in grey and i cant Chose it. Please help ?

is it possible that the accesable options are different when you use DP or HDMI cable? I switched from DP to HDMI to test something (problems with freesync) and with hdmi Free Sync is always on. The option to turn it off disappeared at all.

Yo, i bought this monitor and i have a problem with it. Sometimes when I am playing games the refresh rate changes from 90-144 automatically even if i set it to 144hz. And because of this my monitor shows white images. I dont know how to explain that but it shows a white picture and then turns back and then white again, all this happening in some ms. When i set the hz to 60 its feels so bad like im having 30 fps instead. Is it because of the GPU? I have Rx 590

This is one of the best VA 144Hz monitors. Ghosting is minimal on fast setting.

I bought MAG271CR and I´m so dissapointed about this monitor ! Crazy noticable colour banding and nothing support or solution from company MSI or from service in Poland. So please before you buy this monitor check specially issues with ,,colour banding ".And I must point out that this applies not only at MSI MAG271CR. Many users trying to fix this problem, changes in settings in Windows, Nvidia control panel or the OSD menu of the monitor, try use different cables DP or HDMI or clean instalation Windows, but none of this helps. The latest firmware, which will only be provided by a service center in Poland, does not help either. They returned the monitor with words everything is fine ! For customers it´s not fine ! Companies that manufacture monitors, for example, should ensure maximum compatibility with systems, graphics cards, and so on. Because they are the first to be contacted by dissatisfied customers. Development and production should be simultaneously and fine-tuned before they travel to the consumer. But nowadays, something starts to be produced, just to sell it as soon as possible. The functionality and joy of the product is no longer a matter of course. So I ask the monitor manufacturers in this case to start discussions with companies like Windows and Nvidia on the topic of such banality, such as adding the option of "dithering" to bookmarks in Nvidia or Windows !

i have mag271c with nvidia msi 1060 6gb, but if i setting 144mhz sometimes black screen, have solution?

The crosshairs are so bad. Also I have problems with the gaming profiles. If I set it to Egoshooter, my colors are so bad. It almost looses all colors and looks like black and white pictures. Can't change anyhting in the settings to help. What the f'ck is this? So bad
