How do you set this up inside a pack? I have an Osprey Atmos AG and the Osprey Hydraulics 3L and the MSR Thru Link and tried it connected directly to the hose quick link on the bladder but it was sticking out the top of the pack where I would close the top. So I had to buy the Osprey quick link kit to extend the hose so the filter was outside the pack to the side of my shoulder, then connected up the hose with the mouthpiece to the outlet, instead of running it along my shoulder strap. It works ok. I might look into getting a dirty water bladder for gravity filtration and trying to fill the Osprey bladder with filtered water instead which might make it a bit more comfortable when hiking.
I played with a couple of set ups and decide on attaching it literally as close to the bladder as possible then it runs up parallel with the bladder itself. I then ran an elastic band round the bladder and filter to keep the filter from kinking blocking the tube.
AirLandandSea Blog Channel I thought about doing that but with the Osprey Hydraulics bladder the hose goes through a small opening to the side of the carry handle and it’s kind of stuck there unless you can physically detach the quick connect link socket from the end of the hose. I think the Platypus Big Zip Evo might work better as the hose not fixed in place.
