The image of Matt sitting in a dark room with just his face illuminated by the phone getting his ass beat constantly in street fighter makes me chuckle.
I had to walk away from watching the Wings train wreck because it stopped being funny and just irritated me. But seeing him in the thumbnail for MSSP gave me a smirk.
@@MikePerryLegit probably have a karaoke machine. if they can read it they can sing it. if the guy was just shouting giberish that would be wierd i agree. chi chai choo soo!!
@@LastTorgoInParis Bruh people don't automatically know how to pronounce other languages. Just because you can see the words doesn't mean you ain't just bleating nonsense.
That last bit, about little phone games, with 50% ads, and the whole game is about upgrading…that’s the secret weapon of China against America. No nukes needed.
@@VincentsVideoVisions looool i had no idea you can even do that. Im on mushrooms right now howling at the idea of two dudes just playing super smash bros on a phone with full out controllers
Matt has the fighting game gene. not many people can go 75+ matches without winning. if he learned a punish combo, he could start getting good and then call Shane a button musher
@Spitsworth I would say they're an unfamiliar genre for most but it's not like Starcraft difficulty. I could talk all day about fighting games, man! I think newcomers have trouble with understanding hitstun/blockstun. Whenever you're struck with an attack (or if you block), there are a number of frames where you can't do anything - think of it like different attacks inflict different lengths of 'mini-stuns'. And so you have to press buttons when you're about to leave the duration of that ministun in order for your character to register the button-press. Newcomers simply do not understand when they're allowed to press buttons because they don't know when exactly they're stunned. A knockdown is the most obvious kind of stun. The person on the ground can't attack, right? The person hovering over their body can't typically attack a person on the ground either - they have to time their attack to land on the very first frame the guy on the ground becomes available (when they're getting up). And so the guy hovering over the guy on the ground has an advantage because he can act first. And no, you don't have to know every move to get to top ~5%. You need to generally know the threat range of each character and play just outside of it. But what is the most important piece of advice I could give a newcomer is that they HAVE to learn how to anti-air someone that spams jumps. You can't really begin to learn how to play until you've learned how to punish these players for only initiating with a jump. Fighting games require more preparation before they really start opening up, which is another huge reason why I think people think they're harder than they really are. After learning that, I would tell them they need to learn a decent combo that leads into their super so they can cash in after they've blocked something big/punishable. Also, learning combos is the least time-consuming aspect of learning fighting games. Anyone could learn a decent combo with consistent practice over a week, but the challenge is learning how to fight. edit: one more thing. fighting games are fast, but it's not like people are reacting to everything. what happens is that people are spamming block, and then they block something, then they think to themselves, 'what did I just block? what should I do about it?', and then they act or they continue blocking
@Spitsworth oh dude, a new anime fighting game came out recently and it's one of the easiest games to play and perform good combos in, and it has a free version - Granblue Fantasy Versus Rising check it outtt my bro
@@WaffleHouseBandit anytime, my fellow student of the game. honestly, any time. I will serve. I'll enlighten you on some theory real quick because I'll take any chance I get to talk fgs. A good offense, and defense, to an extent, is about representing so many options over the course of a set, that the opponent's brain gets completely overwhelmed. The game is designed to overload what we call the "mental stack". When you use multi-layered and varied patterns of offense, the opponent becomes dumbstruck when trying to predict what you'll do next. They'll eventually revert to their base instincts, running on auto-pilot completely, and that's when they're the most vulnerable to getting read over and over. That's how you get the sickest, mind-reading clips that make even the best players look dumb. They're shook.
TRUTH. Seriously, when I first got into the pod I think I subconsciously thought I related more to Shane until I realized that almost everything about Matt is me to a T. lmao
If you're married, and you're thinking, "Finally, an escape!", then you probably shouldn't be married. I feel so bad for the men who have money and something to instantly lose if they divorce...
Bro how long ago did they start this podcast? Some of these clips got matt talking about his wife and kids and some clips got matt talking about getting out and hooking up with chicks and having girlfriends
I remember my buddy was really in too ufc video game. I never played before, stuck to the button mash strat and consistently crushed him. Heated video game beefs are the best.
They should stream video game plays together with split screen and the game stream in the corner while drinking some b-lights and riffing with each other. I'd watch it.
Games are fine, it’s when you don’t do literally anything else it’s a problem. It’s a nice escape for some, a challenge for others, pass the time, it’s alright. I get the while ‘you aren’t doing anything productive’ but you don’t always have to
I had to stop playing video games. I would start getting irritable, obsessed. Made me feel horrible inside. Messed my brain up. Staying up super late. I got very into running my madden franchise in like 2008 and played for way too many seasons.
Guessing you had that same come back to real life moment where it’s like 2am and you just won the 2017 Super Bowl in Madden 08 with a fully drafted team 🤣🤣
@@figarden1Playing NBA2k12 franchise mode untill like 2025 season literally all AI genrated draft players I had to look at myslef and ask some questions 😂😂
I like sport games with rpg elements like making my dood starting from the bottom and building my way to the top and adding stat points like speed and power. If a sport game doesn't have that my interest goes down like 50 percent
Matt needs to ditch the phone and start playing PC games on a huge monitor. The feeling of being a loser goes down in continued proportion to the screen size going up
Why? I literally have to check Facebook or set yearly reminders for my brothers and sisters birthdays. If you're not 16 birthdays don't matter. Most people over 25 that aren't desperately trying to hang on to the party scene or desperately find a reason to post content don't celebrate birthdays. It's special when you're 5 and your mom buys you cake and toys. A adult celebrating birthdays is kind of pathetic.
I literally only know my sisters bday...I've tried to remember others but bdays are so unimportant to me that my brain won't accept any others...real men don't care about bdays 😅
