In episode 603 The Dead Talk Back offer us a chilling look into the loneliness of a basement-dwelling nerd, who is trying to make a machine in order to communicate with the dead -- oh yes, it's possible. (Not really, no!)
After a young model is pinned to the wall by a crossbow bolt, the police spring into action by vigorously small talking with various suspects while oddly fiddling with the evidence.
As this, surprisingly, doesn't lead to the murderer, they turn to the basement-dwelling nerd for help, which involves gathering people in a dark room, putting a razorblade in a glass and... wait around for something to happen.
As this incredibly doesn't lead to anything either, our rather hapless group of investigators adhere to try to trick the murderer to reveal himself by faking communication with the dead.
One might feel a bit disappointed by the fact that in a movie called The Dead Talk Back there is actually no dead talking back at all, but I guess the title The Dead Doesn't Quite Talk Back At All wasn't quite as catchy.
The movie is preceded by the short The Selling Wizard, which tries to impress us with various attention seeking superstructures (otherwise known as storage cabinets and freezers).
Look out for frozen cotton, The Pizza Dominatrix, the first ever narrated countdown to murder, bottling of a girl(?), the Charlie Callas defence, the problem of stalking without a car, the complete history of transistors, the dialling of M for Mundane, Adolf Hitler as Knightrider, interrogation in D, The Usual Bongoplayers, a senseless drive-by filming, Francis the talking mule, an Eddie Deezen arrest, a surprise chiropractor, the loneliness of the long distance dweeb, floating stools, a reaction, and the dead wannabes.
