Heading off from Bluff Falls we head over the gap to Corryong and North East out of Corryong to take on the Mt Elliot Track and summit of Mt Elliot.
A great drive with an amazing view, well worth checking out!

Thanks Jase. I loved that shot of the snow covered alps at the top and great views down in the valleys. I reckon you nailed it for weather on the day, not too windy and bright sunshine. Be a great spot for a BBQ lunch in good weather. The 76 is killing it. Really looking forward to you getting it fully done. Cheers mate, BobbyB.

Yeah was a cracking day. The views up on Mt Elliot were amazing both over the Corryong Valley and back towards the Alps, nice to see some snow still at the time I was up there, September. Next videos will be start of the build on the 76 an d after that trip videos from our October VIC/SA Border trip that was epic.

Nice one Jason, a beautiful view! Can’t beat big diesel + manual engine braking mate, the control is unrivalled 🤙

Thanks for posting. I drove past that gate twice a day for a week when I was working in the area and wondered if the track was publicly accessible. Looks awesome.

Yeah that's half the battle isn't it. I was tipped off by a local otherwise probably wouldn't have driven in either. Great drive though so keep it in mind next time you're in the area.

Another cracking video mate ! Luv your work . Running my patch in my 76 proudly for you 👍👍 And you are right about torque, it’s got plenty . I have done no mods to my engine and don’t plan on it , goes great . Chad

Thx Chad, appreciate the support for the channel. Just back from a 4 day trip in the high country, found the limits of the current setup I've got for the 76. Did do billy goat in the rain though, road bias tyres, no traction control or lockers, 1 winch. :-)

Drove up through Nariel Valley and Corryong only the other day on the way back from the High Country. Really nice place.

Yeah it's a really nice drive particularly through from Nariel Valley. Plenty to check out in that part of the high country too.

Looks like a nice drive and beautiful view at the top. Careful with that Toyota Handbreak mate, don't want it rolling lol.

Yeah was a great drive, tip from a local out that way. I'd never been near Mt Elliot before but worth the drive for sure.

What are the plans to bring the Tojo up to speed? Coil spring conversion - Autotrans conversion - axle track increase - power chip - park brake kit - reduction gears? All the things that Toyota should have done, to bring it into line with others makes in 2023?
@OffTheBeatenPathAus
@OffTheBeatenPathAus 6 месяцев назад
Don't know about the coil conversion, maybe, auto conversion was something I was thinking about but honestly getting used to driving the manual and really enjoying the engine breaking of the manual. Rear track correction of some sort will likely be on the cards, many say they don't notice it, I certainly do. Park brake upgrade for sure. Reduction gears I don't think so, I'm not really a technical driver and it's not really where I see it going. All will take time and $$$

Nice vid, what standard tyres are you running? and did you consider the 200 as well when looking at the 76?
@OffTheBeatenPathAus
@OffTheBeatenPathAus 5 месяцев назад
They're just what the dealer put on for roadworthy, a bridgestone supercat AT tyre, very much a road biased tyre been surprised just how much work they'll do. Did find their limit on my most recent trip though. I did look at a 200, for me not an option. I'm not that tall but my height is mostly in my upper body so when I sit in a 200, even with the seat all the way down, my head touches the roof and I can't even sit straight. Not to mention I almost have to snap my head off getting in the door on those. Had one for a week as a rental when I had the paj and that sealed it.

Great vid , I’m surprised to hear the 76 has better engine braking in 3rd gear than the Paj. Paj must have been a bit scary on the steeper tracks .
@OffTheBeatenPathAus
@OffTheBeatenPathAus 6 месяцев назад
Yeah it was about the same in 3rd gear in the 76 as the Paj. Size of engine, auto vs manual big difference. Rarely in the paj was I able to rely just on engine breaking on any descent, it was there but almost always had to use the brakes as well. With the 76 often have to give the accellerator a nudge.
