An overnight trip to summit Mt Tom in California, and some van life cooking! / forestyforest Merchandise: foresty-forests-store.creator... Summit Map: drive.google.com/open?id=12GF... / strava / forestyforest
I don’t think people appreciate the extreme effort you put into creating your content. Climbing mountains versus taste testing snacks is like day and night. Thanks for all of you videos.
@@forestyforest for a few seconds I thought you were going to flip out and start yelling for Rocko like Tom Hanks was yelling for Wilson in the movie Castaway.
He needs some Dominos in his life. I should really donate to this guy. Love the Canadian accent. Tell is a story or 2 about your hockey youth Forest!!!
I’ve been driving past that mountain for the last 60 years and always wondered what it looked like from the top. Thank you for the beautiful pictures! That was a wonderful video.
Simon your content never fails to entertain! You and Rocko are a rock star team! That little girl is line Wonder Woman - she can face anything!! Your videography, as usual, is spectacular! Thanks for sharing. Stay safe warm and healthy!
Okay, so you HAD to do it right? RIGHT? Not only to make the best food in a van or shooting the most awesome and beautyful mountain sceneries. No! You also made one of the most amazing night timelapses I have ever seen! Are you never going to stop making your content better and better??? Cheers to you for being the man you are!
@@forestyforest Was the a time lapse of the stars & they moved in a circular motion?? That's an amzing capture, even though the clip was short; I've never seen this captures like this 👏👍👍😊
My thoughts exactly! Amazing work on this video. Honestly I’ve been watching this channel for years now and I almost want to say this might be the best video yet. It’s a toss up, but certainly top notch.
Wow 350K subscribers. That is really awesome! I have been watching since early in the first minivan and it is great to see how much your channel has grown.
Your videos of bikepacking Death Valley area helped inspire me to bikecamp and also helped me decide on some of the equipment I needed. My travels pale to yours but at 76 I'm out every weekend both days all day. New hip 2022, new knee 2021 along with the remaining knee and hip needing replacing make bikecamping quite a challenge so I usually do some sort of loop that gets me back to my truck to camp. Getting up off the ground has been and still is quite a challenge so if it isn't too cold I sit in a chair all night (just like at home when I fall asleep in the living room chair). I love the area you are in in this video although recently I've been hanging out east of the White Mountains in Nevada around Tonopah, Goldfield, Goldpoint and Beatty. Day trips to places like Cerro Gordo (been up it 16 times in between replacement surgeries and recovery), Darwin, Ballarat, Barker Ranch and multiple day trips from Barstow to Vegas, Vegas to Hurricane UT, Escalante Loop from Big Water UT all possible because of inspiration I gained from watching your videos (and lohan's). Thanks!
If you haven't tried it and can find a proper spot, try hammocking. While it's not for everyone, some people have found it's the best sleep they've ever had. For more information than you ever thought existed on the subject, check out "Shug" Emery's RU-vid channel "shugemery".
I had to watch the sequence with that rock tumbling down a few times - thought at first it was Rocco…That she was chasing it was a hoot! Loved the footage of her side adventures while you’re heading in a somewhat straight line. What would it feel like to have the amount of energy she does?! You two are such an inspiration. LOVED the night sky sequence, too! Awesome visuals.
Rocko is one lucky dog! All the great adventures with a pretty good human being! I hope you both continuous health, happiness and even more adventures. Stay safe out there!
I don’t think I’ve laughed so hard watching Rocko chase that rock. That was pure entertainment. Thanks Forest. I paused the video when you reached the summit and you were smiling at the camera. Brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for sharing that. It means a lot to me to see you living your dream. Dave
Everything about this video was gorgeous.. from the drone shots to the time lapse, the sunrise, the mountains, the rock slo-mo, the editing, everything! Rocko sleeping is the cutest thing ever! And your food is always delicious!
Thank you from an old lady in Wisconsin, who can only walk with a cane / walker. Love your videos; the scenery, narration, cooking & puppy - my sister has a dog that looks just like yours & is also named Rocco. :) Seriously - these kinds of videos are how "shut-ins" can go on adventures. (I literally am in my house 6 days a week - only go out on Sat. for Sabbath worship & also once or twice a year for a trip), - so these vids are awesome. Thank you again. :)
Your content is such a gift. I get so excited when I get notified that you have posted a vlog! Thank you and thanks to Rocko for all the comic relief. I particularly liked when you were spilling your guts out about getting your butt kicked by the hike and when you said you were taking a break every 10 steps and then in the frame behind your Rocko is playing with the snow falling off from your labored steps just cracked me up! 🤣 She's a machine!!
Foresty should do an episode of weird things he's experienced (like nearly being hit by 70KPH rolling rocks). Surely in all his travels he's had to have had some unexplainable moments.
Another amazing video in the bag, and a HUGE mountain to boot!! Your work never ceases to surprise me, those night scapes were INCREDIBLE!! Thank-you!!
Bravo Simon, that was a brutal vert plus snow! 👋👋 But man, it was worth the effort, amazing scenery and views! 😍😍 Thanks for taking us up there with you 🍻
I can't imagine carrying ski's, poles and bindings 8000' up a mtn no matter how much fun it would be coming down. Another solid video, great to see your channel growing.
Agreed. Born and raised hiking and camping the Sierras.... Something special about the eastern slope and US 395..... thanks for sharing the beauty.....
I’m only 5 minutes into the video but I have to say the choreography so far is outstanding. I know how much work it is to get a proper timeline filmed and edited but this is your best work yet. Cheers, back to watching 😊
It's amazing how many people are on earth and how few people will ever stand on top of mountains like you. Thanks for sharing your adventures and taking us along.
Rocko the Wonder Dog. She knows how to go full on. And also full off. Great shot of her in the last minute or so of the video, completely crashed out. Spectacular mountain scenery. And really cool night shot showing the rotation of the stars. You just keep getting better!

This is the first time I saw that you were physically and visibly tired from a hike. You are a trooper and a total inspiration. I'm so glad I stumbled across your channel.
Been up since 4.30 am with my one year old here in England but somehow watching a guy and his little dog thousands of miles climb mountains and cook cool food in a van makes it more bearable. 🤣 Suns gonna be up here in a hour, might take the little monster and our dog for a quick walk through the woods before work. Stay safe out there Forresty. We love ya! 👍🏻
I can personally attest to being knocked around by the High Sierra's. They are no joke, and easy to underestimate. But the reward is absolutely worth it
Hey Foresty forest what an incredible climb beautiful definitely a climb you would have to do in two days like you did. That was so much fun you and Rocko always make my day. You guys are amazing. You guys be safe out there and stay warm.🇺🇸♥️👍🙏🙂🐾🏔️🚐🇨🇦
Dog keeps you warm. Thus the name of the band “Three Dog Night”. You do genuine adventures. Amazing. Lots of water at high altitude can help. You are in great shape. Thank you 🙏 for the best video I have seen in some time.
Seeing the stars was awesome! I didn’t think you were gonna summit but you did! I could hear your tiredness in your voice and little Rocco was solid still while you ate! Be well and thanks for taking this old lady along on your journey!
Very nice to see you sir and also to see those lovely images of Rocko. Hope you're both okay because you're not around as much at the moment. Have just invested in a pretty decent Fitbit and it's amazing the amount of data you can get from them. Looked at the Garmin as well. But needed something for health anyway that looked like a nice recipe at the end as well. Pancake day here. Stay safe the two of you. Look forward to the next episode 👍
You produce the best quality footage of absolutely any one on you tube. So I never would of believed that I would be saying the following. This current footage is in my opinion as good or better than anything I have seen from any source. Absolutely unbelievable stuff.
Rocko is a combination of hurricane and tornado. Unbridled energy. A dynamo in high gear. Awesome climb and summit. Glad you made it safe and sound. Thank you for sharing yet another great adventure. Regards, Randy in Arizona.
What an adventurous explorer you are and that Rocco, did not see you carrying her this episode. Full of energy and that rock chasing😂😂. Sure showed her exhaustion after such a vigorous day, when she was out at the end. You make amazing videos and Rocco is even extra special.
My heart was beating hard in my chest and i was just watching you and Rocko. Admire you, and your puppy. I can not speak for others but as an old person, i sure enjoy watching you push yourself,. I can remember times when making a living, being that tired, It is good to put all into things. I was blessed as God gave me the strength , God bless you always
I agree… I am in my 60’s and watch for pure enjoyment. Being permanently disabled, I get to see you and others strive and succeed- but your channel is thee best👏🏻!
What is that blues jam in the opening sequence? So earthy…. Killer video as always. The things that little pup has seen so far…and so much left to explore. Stay warm in the storm.
Your videos have become my favourite to watch on RU-vid. You and Rocko are the perfect team. The amazing footage you always get is top notch. Keep up the great work Foresty.
