Thanks Jack for showing off your massive antenna farm. I bet you can hit a lot of repeaters from up there. Nice video! 👍

Man, I wish I had an antenna farm like this! Maybe when we move out of state we will have a "his & hers" antenna farm! :) Thanks for watching! ~Jack, VEG

Just think Jack... you could lease some of your farm land to T-Mobile, AT&T or Verixon for sillyfones. Then you would have a tower that costs thousands of dollars, paying YOU! One night, Jack sneaks up the tower to put up his 23cm dish, lol.

PS: ...and you might find a REPEATER at a ham flea market to put on the 500' tower on your land. There are many dead repeaters, and no ham owns a frequency. I remember the early years of 2m, when they used modified mobile phone or taxi cab transceivers for repeaters, that were about fifty watts. 6m would be kewl for a repeater. Hams sure were glad that clubs or somebody did it. Now most repeaters around here are dead, and a few clubs exist.

Last year we were already approached about installing a cell tower, we declined the offer, do not want on the ranch...not only for radio interference but mainly once they are in, then they would sublease tower space and make lots more money while you don't get paid extra...wasn't a good deal, plus you now have whatever contaminant's on your land. ~Jack, VEG

@@umajunkcollector The wife and I just purchased a 40 foot tower 2 weeks ago and paid $85, thought that was a great deal...not sure if we will put it up here in Cali or just wait until we move...not sure I want a repeater...we talk mainly simplex and happy doing such...hopefully when we move we will be on a mountain and we'll have height to cover the valley floor, so simplex will be just as good or better then a repeater. ~Jack, VEG

23cm, would that be less than 3" quarter wave? You could use a dish. Did you climb the towers? lol Nice vista views photography. That huge tripod would go well with an older TV studio camera like my Sony. Imagine usong a 16mm film camera with turret lens and 4" reels? 20 minutes to be edited down to a one minute segment on the news; Javk climbs a tower to get a birds eye view on the five o'clock news..

No, I don't climb towers, not even a big fan of ladders, I don't mind height, but I do mind things that could tip over...not into pain or broken things....yes, the tripod handles my full size video cameras just fine. :) ~Jack, VEG
