Footage of 2023 New Flyer XD40 9320 operating on the Q60 bus route from South Jamaica in Queens, to East 60th Street & 2nd Avenue in Manhattan.Bus 9320 is part of an ongoing MTA Bus Company order to replace Orion VII Hybrids. Most of the NG Hybrids are 14-16 years old. JFK Depot is currently received its share of buses from this order. Other depots such as Eastchester and LaGuardia have received their allotments.
While bus stops and destination signs indicate the terminal in "East Midtown" it is technically on the Upper East Side based on typically accepted boundaries. According to those accepted boundaries, 59th Street marks the boundary between East Midtown and the Upper East Side. However given the importance and significance of Midtown as a destination, it was likely more fitting at the time the route was created in order to attract riders given its very close proximity to East Midtown. The Q60 bus route was operated by Green Bus Lines, a private operator predominantly focused on providing service in Jamaica and Southwestern Queens. It was transferred to the newly created MTA Bus Company in 2005.
