The Professor's Special TCGPlayer BUYLIST Link: bit.ly/TCGBuylistTCC
What is the TCGplayer Buylist?•For Players, it’s the best way to automatically find buylist prices from hundreds of stores across the US forthousands of Magic: The Gathering cards.•Instead of shipping to dozens of separate stores, everything is shipped to TCGplayer for processing.•Consistent review of card conditions and a dedicated customer service team handle every step of processing.•For Stores, it’s the best way to open their buylist to the hundreds of thousands of Players that visit TCGplayer.com each day.
How does it work?
Stores upload their comprehensive buylist data to automatically supercharge their inventory from players.
Players search for cards on the TCGplayer Buylist and automatically find the best prices for many conditions ofcards, creating their customized Buylist Offer.
For Players, convenient shipping to and processing at TCGplayer means getting the best prices while saving onpostage and handling time.
Fast processing means Players can ship their Buylist Offers more often while Stores receive quick inventoryfulfillment for TCGplayer Direct.
For Players, there are no additional fees-just shipping.
Please note: While TCGPlayer did sponsor this video, it's content, including my words and opinion of their service, is all my own. I have made sponsored videos where I failed products, and ones where I said they were just okay. I consider TCGPlayer Direct to be an excellent service. The sponsorship for this one video helps the channel, and everyone wins.

I sent in my cards and those idiots said they were all missing and I havent been able to get a response. All the cards were verified shipped with tracking and all bubble wrapped. Never gonna use this company again, will update if they actually fix this problem.

@@iratham2567 Turns out that they "found" foreign materials on the cards, took all my sleeves they were sent in and sent me my cards back without including the 100 sleeves sent with them. Will never use TCGplayer again as im sure Card Kingdom will take the cards easily. They said that the sleeves I sent my cars in were considered packaging material and didnt have to be returned lmao. This is exactly the type of resource I was looking for when I searched in RU-vid for ways to sell mtg cards. Thanks very much, I have so many commons/uncs and dead rares that I know will never really be in demand and I don't want to to have to try and sell them locally in big packages for a bulk price or have to mail a million things. This sounds like a much easier solution to turning all those "garbage" cards into gold you can really USE in decks. I also subscribed, because your channel is tremendously useful! Keep it up!

Here is some solid advice: Buylist is a great tool for selling older collections of Magic cards you really need to get out of your inventory but should NOT be used to attempt to sell individual high value cards. If you regularly buy old collections of magic cards at a bulk rate and need to flip them, buylist is a handy tool. Make sure you try to primarily buylist cards in a good condition, though. Quality matters! Card collections in poor condition are buylist Kryptonite.

I used the TCGplayer buylist. It might just be a mistake, but I wasn't particularly impressed. I sent my cards and after tracking stating that it was delivered on the correct day, it wasn't marked as received until the next. This caused them to take some of the money out of the offer then immediately state the cards as arrived. They weren't extremely expensive cards but it felt like they were in a way stealing from me. I messaged them on the site and all I got was "it wasn't processed until the next day, sorry for the inconvenience". I don't know what I as the sender can do to avoid this. Sorry for this tangent in a comment on this video but I just want to let people know that things don't always work out fantastically using this service.

Warning! I sent 37 cards in all over 2 dollar market value. I verified being my first time with them all were ordered correctly per their packing slip they provide. They state 4 cards missing including Primeval Titan I have had for years that I was not really sure I wanted to send or not. It feels like theft to me as well and 3 of the cards they stated missing were money cards. I would love to see some youtuber investigate this and other stories I think there may be need for a warning on using TCGPlayer buylist over local store which I sadly don't have in my area.

One thing to keep in mind with the buy offers is that you're very likely to get less than they tell you initially. This is because, very often, the company accepting your bulk cards is going to downgrade the quality of the materials once they've received them. A card that you mark as "Near Mint" might get knocked down to "Lightly Played" simply because there's a tiny white dot on the edge in a corner. So, be aware of this when using a buylist service.

Good basic overview on selling. The TLDW: if you have a few cards worth a good chunk of money ($10+ each) and in some demand, sell them individually. If you have a lot of cheaper cards (50 cents to $10 or so), or cards in lower demand, just buylist them. The 30% or so you lose from selling at Buylist price is worth not having to deal with multiple shipping fees alone most of the time. I only recommend buylists for bulk shipping cards though

Hey Prof. I'm a poor college student who happens to have some MtG cards. It's unfortunate that I have to get rid of them but maybe going through TCGPlayer I'll be able to sell all of my collection and then be able to pay some bills. Thank you so much for this info!

I suggest smartphone apps to quickly generate the list of cards. I often don't comment but since it is a useful information to go along this video, few people know that such technology exists and I'm one of the developers of such apps, the best ones I suggest are: * Scryglass (for Android) * OzGuild (for Android/iPhone) * Delver Lens (for Android -the one I develop-)
@vidarthorsby2052
@vidarthorsby2052 8 лет назад
Does that mean you can take a picture and the program will recognise the art?
@CassioElias
@CassioElias 8 лет назад
+Vidar Thorsby Yeap. Exactly that. And the apps are getting a lot better than the ones available one year ago. Even TCGPlayer is investing on their scanning device.
@ribeye10000
@ribeye10000 8 лет назад
Just tried out OzGuild.......it seems clunky to be honest with you. Since I don't have an Android I can't try any others out, but here's the issues with OzGuild: 1. Is price functionality supposed to be a consistent feature of the program? It seemed like it, however I just scanned a new Gisela and it wouldn't bring up the price. 2. It seems like you'd have to scan one card multiple times in order to add multiple copies to the list. Near as I can tell you can't add anything onto the list without scanning it, which is a problem in and of itself, however not being able to mark the quantity (or condition!) of the cards seems shortsighted. 3. I did have to scan the card multiple times for the program to recognize it, which is frustrating and would keep me away from using the program for large lists as well. 4. The "FOIL" button is too close to the "Scan Button"; I pressed the Foil button by accident multiple times while trying to press Scan. Also, the Scan button could be a bit larger.
@CassioElias
@CassioElias 8 лет назад
Thanks for the interest. You should send this to the guys from OzGuild. I'm sure they would like to see this. I can only speak for Delver Lens, which has only the Android version so far :(
@ribeye10000
@ribeye10000 8 лет назад
***** I'll definitely keep using it as much as I can, no worries. Makes sense on the #1 and #3 thing, and the #4 thing just comes from me having really fat fingers lol. (edit; I actually do use my left hand for tasks like this, although I'm right handed I will take pictures with my left hand, for instance). The #2 issue sounds particularly challenging on your guy's end....it's definitely a huge deal though because I'd like to add cards on the go, and make multiple lists, ect. hopefully you can find the right balance for your product, however the perfect MTG app in my opinion could: 1. take a card, scan it, give you the price (sounds like you guys have this down!) 2. add it to a list and let me mark the quantity on the go. This would be helpful in trading, deckbuilding, and general organization. I realize you guys are probably working on this on top of other projects or your regular jobs, but figure it wouldn't hurt to lay out pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. Thanks again!

I think using a regular big name store for buy list is better if you want to reinvest those cards into more cards because they offer store credit. Just always remember to take the extra hour or two and create the same list for all the popular sites and stores so you can get the best bang for your cards.
@johndeckard6592
@johndeckard6592 8 лет назад
Worth mentioning: as more stores add their buylists to the service, they will compete with each other for your business and buylist prices will rise with competition and demand.
@TolarianCommunityCollege
@TolarianCommunityCollege 8 лет назад
That's a great point. The service is brand spanking new, but as time goes on they'll need to compete for your cards with higher prices, and there will be more overall demand. Again, not for everyone, but a great thing to know exists and keep an eye on to use when needed.
@christophermccauley4113
@christophermccauley4113 8 лет назад
As more people use the service, cards supplied to buylists will also likely increase to meet demand, which would drive prices downward again. It's hard to know how future buylist prices or ordinary market prices will be affected.

Tcg player is my trade price list of choice and when my stores near me don't have the cards I need they are my next move, starcity dead last as a "im in dire want to finish a deck".
