30:14, this moment reminds me of some wise words another MTGA youtuber has said many a times... "Magic is easy, just draw what you want." - Merchant Love the content LegenVD, keep it up.
@@aleksaa24 More fun to watch than seeing someone perfectly curve into an embercleave and win uncontested, or fail to do so and fail miserably. I also like all the different interactions within it, more synergistic than the regular smork one.
I think it's very commendable you intentionally made it budget friendly. There's all types of Arena players, and the new guys often get left out. Salute.
Thanks for the deck idea and video! I just cashed in my last wildcards to make this (sadly not enough for x4 torbran, but Bonecrusher filled out the slots). And I went from diamond 3 to mythic in about 1.5 hours. Chandras incinerator is INSANErator.
LegenVD, any chance we can see more of these? Or a return of Friendly Friday for Arena? Your starter deck videos gave me a huge win boost when I first started. Didn't play long and returning again, still feeling like a total noob. Wanting that Jungle Secrets deck back haha.
When i face such original RDW it does not even make me angry much :). What makes me angry is the stupid arena algorithm. Last time I played sealed I finally build super good w/b life gain deck. Lost all games to drawing maximum one black source of mana in all 3 games (I even had. 2 dual lands!!). Good job wizards. Shuffling algorithm is far from random and far from helpful to the player. These games always remind me, why I stop playing arena shortly after new edition. That and netdeckers. Lvd keep up your good work, you have a emotional balance I would love to have :)). All the best guys.
Could you see this deck with Truefire Captain? I Like the idea of going face with the First source dealing +2 to Captain and then +4 face again. Edit: too bad incinerator can only target opponents creatures
13:23 "we'll have our work cut out for us" generally means "they're helping us" eg. by damaging themselves lol Deck looks sick. Wouldn't be surprised to see incinerator being the top end for monored decks for the next 2 years lol. Ah forgot it's kinda weak to bounce and doesn't do as much if the opponent has no creatures lol.
Haven't heard that phrase meaning that before. Everytime i've heard it it meant either: that's gonna be difficult/ it's now clear what's need to be done.
About half the people who say it mean it one way, and the other half mean in it in the complete opposite sense. I have always found this hilarious and have witnessed several arguments over its proper meaning.
Necromancy For Kids Its actually not very good in the mainboard with all the removal in standard right now. Turn 3 shock -> skewer -> incinerator is strong but it sucks ass when your opponent just uses a 2-3 mana kill to take it out afterwards.
Nice. Like this version of rdw. Will be making it but not a budget version. Will be included bonecrusher, castle, etc. Don't think cleave fits into it but may be wrong.
I'm wondering if the new goblin, the Taunter, would be good. Or would it be a case of "For 5 I do nothing" ? Because, with it and the Incinerator, by paying 3 and tapping (yeah, that's a lot of dos already) the opponent and one creature take damage equal to a creature's power. Is that not bad or too heavy to perform ?
Hello Legend, I gave this deck a twist to fit my style and playing bo3. Decklist: 4 spear spewer 4 scorch spitter 4 shock 4 chandra's pyreling 4 electrostatic field 4 slaying fire 4 risk factor 4 skewer the critics 4 light up the stage 4 chandra's Incinerator 20 mountain Side: 4 tibalt, rakish instigator 4 leyline of combustion 3 blazing volley 4 redcap melee Still decently budget friendly and managed to get myself from diamond 4 to diamond 2 and still rising. If you have time plz do try this list as it works wonders for me. I went down to 20 mountains because i drew too many with 22 and even with 21. Kind Regards,
@@daherleonardi Last month I ended just barely missed mythic ending in diamond 1. I found a lot of decks have a problem with chandra's pyreling as it does a very good job of both blocking and attacking. The burn usually goes to the face unless you're facing aggro. I did find the 4th slaying fire a bit much so it might be more correct to run 21 lands cutting 1 slaying fire. I don't know how you can't get out of gold, i've had some problems finding the time to play but right now i'm already back to plat 3 from gold 3. Maybe you just draw poorly or things just don't line up. The hardest matchup is probably mono green as they come fast and have big creatures but decks like temur rec and bant ramp you should just burn through their incidental lifegain. In any case, I wish you the best of luck
sadly terror's not a very constructed playable card in this meta. ugin usually comes down around the same turn from the ramp decks and basically makes anything midrange (the home of terror of the peaks) pretty bad. the good news is, the set just started, so the meta might still shift away from so much ugin ramp. but as long as ugin ramp is so prevalent, terror will have a hard time finding a good home.
How about more of a pure burn deck? 4x Shock 4x Bonecrusher Giant 4x Skewer the Critics 4x Fateful End 4x Slaying Fire 4x Risk Factor 4x Light Up the Stage 4x Runaway Steam-kin 2x Torbran, Thane of Red Fell 1x Obosh, the Preypiercer 2x Chandra, Heart of Fire 1x Fiery Emancipation 22x Mountain
@@LegenVD No way, I was super convinced there was something hidden there! Especially since Lurus just hit the board. Figured there'd be a joke about him there.
love that turn 4 kill in match 1! ive been missing burn since last rotation. incenerator really feels like the spell burns needed. just curious what you'd cut for bonecrusher? at first i thought about spear skewer but i think now it should be the scorch spitter. guess ill play around with the build and find which i prefer!
I did like the interaction of field giving you the extra chip damage with incenerator but your right I think having the ability on spear skewer fills into the same need. Thanks!
awesome deck man, fast and budget friendly, do u really need 4 spear spewers? also aren't electrostatic fields more important, aka 4? curious what changes would u made to the deck after playing with it a bit, thanks in advance, and awesome job on your content.
@@JohnDoe-zx1ck Trap mechanic returns with a Teferi version. If your opponent agrees to a game of Magic, you can begin the game with Teferi on the battlefield.
This is a fun deck but not consistent if played in rank. If you get board wiped, you most likely loose. Because of the shuffler, you need more card draw or else you die to land flood.
Don't know if you cherrypick your victory matches, but this deck plays like sh*t. I just lost 6 matches in a row in the Play queue. Gruul, UW control, Rakdos sacc, all tear right through this deck. Besides 8 rares is a far cry from being a budget deck.
@@LegenVD Sure, WotC should consider letting off the gas pedal when it comes to giving mono-red the tools to continue to make MtGA ranked a snooze-fest. However, I don't think it is fair to characterize my comment as something that comes from unwarranted frustration and should be disregarded flippantly as destructive. You do an amazing job giving us content, especially budget decks and discussions about alternative cards, and I am grateful.
In all honesty, I generally despise mono red too. But, overplaying the cards you hate are how they tend to get banned. Standard is a disgusting mess atm, this is just one more moist trash bag in the dumpster fire. Another reason mono red gets so much play is, like this deck, it's fairly budget friendly. It let's people play mtg competitively at a time where a lot of our lgs are still not allowed to open up. All said though, ya. They were out of their minds with incinerator.
