Seeing your opponent mouse over the witch's oven when you played Karn and then immediately concede is a high I am going to be chasing for the rest of my life.
i love that you're trying to tackle the meta. i only wish the part of the meta you're building to counter was the jeskai lukka yorion deck. that deck seems unbeatable to me, and i'd love to see your take on a way to fight it. i seem to see it at least one out of every 3 games by now.
MisterVD, you're such an inspiration. I always start hating magic again and then you come with a new video and i start enjoying it again. And yes i copy your decks way too much and yes rip my money.
The deckbeats: Lurrus, Garuda, Cat oven, etc. The deck looses to: Capridor. What can I say, its a good uncommon. Great vid VD, its always good to see cat oven players rage quit.
Dude, I just want to share my experience, this deck slaps Lurrus Enchantment hard with Blast Zone and Shadowspear. Really put them down quite efficiently as their main attackers and enchantments are 1 drops. Satisfying.
Sweet deck, I've been traveling away from the more prison aspects to play green leylines, a couple more dorks, ceratops, and nissa. It's much more vulnerable to sweepers, but boarding into Vivien for Nissa has helped me get blown out less.
This looks like a Standard-forced version of the Green Walkers deck in Pioneer. That deck is insanely good! LSV did a great deck tech video about that deck a few months back.
@@LegenVD Good for the cat, I guess? Maybe it will realize that therapy is a better option than continuously making itself into food which it later consumes.
@@JonTheBolt You could say that any particular card aside from Karn is not needed for this deck, its a matter of judging which cards work the best. Nissa is one of the best cards in the format, and works really well with what this deck wants to do: She's a payoff spell and ramp rolled into one.
@@JDecker229 You're not wrong, but Nissa also enables the fun payoffs. If you want to get jankier with it, you could try to turn the deck into Mono-Green Planeswalkers/Proliferation. I ran Evolution Sage and M19 Vivien in the list during WAR/M20 standard, and that was a lot of fun.
Going Simic with this deck with nissa and the elemental package ie risen reef leafkin and cav of thorns and growth spiral is more consistent imo. Been playing it since last expansion and doing very well
12:55 I am amazed that everyone only plays Lurrus in either cycle or sacrifice and no one realizes how wicked Pilfering Imps can be in a Lurrus deck. With Hateful Eidolons. And Kaya's Ghostform.
19:07 Playing the Gemrazer without mutate to have the druid able to block next turn isn't a possibility here? Hexproof is fine, but a 4/4 with no hexproof is still tricky to kill for the knight deck. It ends up dying anyway after all. Also, blocking the Vanguard when you have a "pro-multicolor reach" in hand is not ideal in my opinion
I think he wanted to turn off any potential Winota triggers in case that was coming. Also, it wouldn't have changed much because the stomp + storms wrath would've taken out Ugin regardless. Not a bad idea in theory, though.
Can you actually play your decks on ranked games? or this type of decks don't mean to be played on ranked games? great content as always! have a nice week.
Very cool Anti Meta deck. I made it instantly to play in Platinum..unfortunately since then I have barely been paired against any other meta decks, thanks Arena.
Anyone else find it disappointing/sad that with all the possible cards and combos that exist in Magic, so few are actually used that within a card or two, the exact deck [more or less] an opponent has is known?
The second match player I know for a fact he raged probably some ignorant shit like “who even uses karn what a scrub bullshit card doesn’t let me play my busted ass combo!”
It always saddens me that you can identify what a deck is based on the first few cards. I know net decks are the main thing, but it makes all card games feel so stagnant and repetitive.
