4:46 "or the Fleecemane Lion in green" - I remember coming back to magic when the OG Theros came out and was amazed by the stats on Fleecemane Lion. The last time I played before, Savannah Lions was a SICK card for its 2/1 stats for only W!

Always love to see Cat Tribal decks, even if Kaheera is pretty much the only tribal synergy right now in Standard. I look forward to Amonkhet Remastered so we can play with Regal Caracal, Pride Sovereign and friends in Historic. I used to play Cat Tribal sooooo much during closed beta, that deck is very close to my heart.

Love your decks and the off meta approach. So refreshing. Need more wildcards haha. This will probably go under, but I would absolutely love to see a deck build around the Greek mythology theme introduced with theros. I know it's near impossible to make it somewhat competitive but if anyone can do it, it's you. Thanks for the great content!

@@LegenVD Thanks for the reply. Yeah this deck is definitely hard to pull off. If you want to go more competitive and still mostly keeping the Greek mythology theme you would probably would have to go mono white, don't you think?

I mirrored the audible satisfaction you got from playing out Sanctuary Cat. The only thing better than rocking something so garbage with a straight face is playing out a card that's as hip as that, but with a bunch of text on it, and watching your opponent spend a bit too long reading it - possibly for the first time ever. Lavinia or Tomik for example.

Serious question before seeing the games: to protect against boardwipes, wouldn't an unbreakable formation (or three) be appropriate in this deck? It can double as a second anthem effect for the killing blow, too.

It's an option, but even against control keeping up three mana is tough. Don't always have enough pressure in play by that point.

Nice deck. Tribals are always cool to play with. And cool cats - even better. But your opponents were playing more of less off meta decks. What rank are you playing at in Standard? Gold? Diamond? As soon as i reach Diamond there are mostly op control decks, where these fun decks are not fun anymore to play.

I know it's not really on curve and requires to splah green, but did you maybe think of adding a couple of Frondland Felidars? It synergyzes well with Kaheera and can give you a way to open a path to lethal or lock down enemy creatures when the Tribunal doesn't show up

Yeah, same issue as the other splash cards. There's no shortage of good 4-drops like Ajani which is more resilient to sweepers, but we need to keep the curve low.

Snapdax can Mutate with your mana base and pumps your Ajani's Pridemates. Could be a fun addition.

I wish we could support the red splash for the boros cat dinosaur with mutate that has a similar effect to the Liger, but I suppose that it just ends up making the deck too inconsistent :(

I played this deck a bunch when it was in standard and had a ton of fun. I even built it in paper. Since it's long rotated out of standard I wanted to contact you to see how you would change this deck to function in a historic sense or even Modern format? I'd love to play this deck in paper more and am not sure what to change to have it be stronger with removal? Any tips would be appreciated. Love your channel!!

I did a more recent green/white build for Historic, although still not the most recent deck and it also features digital-only cards.

@@LegenVD I'll go check that out now. Though, my favorite part of this original deck is the stompy mutate cascades with the hunt master and cubwarden. Would better removal just be path to exile in older format?

@@zacharywright5318 Lots of options depending on the format, Path is certainly up there with March of Otherworldly Light, Prismatic Ending if you play more colors, Solitude is great and can be played with Kaheera as Companion.

Seems like you could add regal but simply just for the mutate ability it can end games if opponent doesn't have an answer for it. +2/+1 to all your creatures is a good finisher other than huntmaster.

wait im confused... Lurrus with the effect, During each of your turns, you may cast one permanent spell with converted mana cost 2 or less from your graveyard. Thus, can be cast to revive Charmed Stray?

I'm going to try this, but take out the sanctuary cats. Probably add in more removal. Mortify, despark, something which can hit at least 2 different kinds of permanents.

Deck only has 4 black source for deathtoucher cat. I would recommend something like banishing light instead.
