1) summon the 6th doctor 2) use “quantum alignment” to summon a copy of the 6th doctor 3) summon Clara Oswald 4) both doctors abilities activate summoning 3 Clara’s instead of 1 5) congratulations now every time you play a historic spell you can summon 6 additional copies of it for no extra charge This has so many potential builds like the 3rd doctor summoning in with 21 tokens meaning all 7 of the 3rd doctor gain +21 +21. My personal favourite though is that if you summon the 5th doctor it means that every end step your cards that don’t attack gain +21 +21 which can quickly end up with you becoming literally unbeatable.

Unfortunately in magic, can not effects override can effects. Since the sixth doctor can only trigger once a turn, the trigger can't be doubled by clara
@eeveemaster8902
@eeveemaster8902 3 месяца назад
@@reallybig Thats why you use quantum.. the wording is "this card". meaning you are able to use each card as a sep ability. so you get 3 claras. then every doctor trigger, but the 6th goes off 3 times.

Also - Gavin Verhey seems to be strongly suggesting that the third WHO Secret Lair will have fourteenth and fifteenth Doctors (and hopefully his companion Ruby), so get ready for this to be more complicated.

THANK YOU! Oh good sir, THANK YOU because I’ve been preaching Tegan Jovanka as the best pick for the Tenth doctor ever since they came out. No one talks about their pairing, and everyone just sticks with rose Tyler “because she can kill people”, but Tegan is way more efficient and better at guaranteeing your game plan! I built the two of them together immediately upon release and it has been a huge headache of a time playing that deck, but it’s so much fun! I sincerely appreciate you for having views that align with my own in terms of the Tenth Doctor. It saddens me to see everyone just run rose Tyler and not attempt at being a bit more creative with it.

Personal choices: Barbara Wright and The Sixth Doctor - Make two copies of a saga, and get a ton of options. Vislor Turlough and The Twelfth Doctor - Demonstrate Vislor. Give versions to multiple players. Clara and the Fifth or Thirteenth Doctor- two untaps on end step with creatures must be able to do something right? Adric and the War Doctor - laser beam people with that second trigger on Doctor Hurt. Now do it again. Jamie McCrimmon and the Eighth Doctor - There's plenty of Historic spells with X mana value. Whack.
@thewelf2
@thewelf2 Год назад
Wouldn't the opponent be able to copy Vislor on you? You would take the damage each turn. The Sixth Doctor is better since he will just copy Turlough without giving your opponent one to put on you.
@diagnosisninja
@diagnosisninja Год назад
@@thewelf2 yeah but you can deal with that if you know it's going to happen. Spells which sacrifice stuff - Nasty End, Victimize, etc. It's an option if you want Grixis instead of Sultai.

Fun fact, sixth + vislor makes for a BANGING shrine shell... Shrines ARE HISTORIC! (Legendary, and sultai has the best ones)
@diagnosisninja
@diagnosisninja 4 месяца назад
@@DraygaFlight That's actually a hell of a shout - Honden of Seeing winds makes two permanents that draw four cards between them at the start of your turn, and that's before any other shrines. I don't know if it's an immediate include of all 9 shrines, but they're instantly better when you get two of them.

K-9, Mark 1 is the better companion for The war doctor. 6 mana is too much for Clara.
@mr.mammuthusafricanavus8299
LOL I find it quite amusing that you've suggested Tegan Jovanka for the Tenth Doctor since after a few games I became quite enamored with the Ninth Doctor, especially since my opponents tended to target the Tenth right away but would barely do anything to the Ninth Doctor; so I paired the Ninth Doctor with Tegan Jovanka, the Indestructible is great also when you need to boardwipe. On Astrid: I made the same mistake with Wilfred Mort since it was the combination of Wilfred and Ninth that I was like this is so cool! BUT than I read the card some more and realized they are not a Doctor Companion. Ninth Doctor is the type of low key powered creature design I like: - 3cmc= Cheap - 2/4 body, classic 2/4 Giant Spider stats - Haste, highly underrated - Extra upkeeps can actually be quite crazy. Hypothetically with Adric, Strionic Resonator, Clara Oswald, Paradox Haze and the Ninth Doctor out you could have 6 Upkeeps on your turn. - Just has to be tapped to get the trigger, so they don't even have to attack :P

I built the 12th Dr & Vislor Turlough. Casting Vislor from the command zone will allow him to be demonstrated giving two opponents a Vislor. Having black also allows you to steal your opponents cards and then demonstrate it back to them.

Personally I'm leaning more to Amy as the companion for the 10th. She wants to attack triggering him and then if she deals damage she takes off almost all the time counters he just put on them
@andrewfornes5320

The War Doctor & Susan can get so many counters on The War Doctor. Using that elemental that gives commanders cascade or the Tardis, cast Susan AFTER playing The War Doctor. If you have no 0 & 1 drops in the whole deck, you will cascade through all the cards and put that many counters on The War Doctor

Clara is a good choice for most of the doctors so I picked her only once for what I thought was the best pairing. Also, she does cost six Mana in one shot which can take a while to accumulate.

I assume that during most of development that John Barrowman was relatively cancelled for indecent exposure on sets, and that a lot of companions were skipped out - I hadn't realised how many weren't included from classic Who but not everyone got in- Mickey is just unusual in that he's from the reboot era.

I am not a fan of that style of foiling on that Leela card, the seventh doctor is stupid. I don't sit down and play Commander to play a guessing game, it's mechanics are as stupid as all these circus mechanics (attractions and all that) are. For the War Doctor, I would choose Black for Clara Oswald because then you get access to Necropotence, when you use Necropotence you EXILE X cards from the top of your library, this puts counters on the war doctor, so.. exile 20 cards, but 40 counters on the doctor (assuming Clara is out), attack, deal 40 damage to someone's face. Just note: it is NOT commander damage, because that would be broken, so you can't just exile 10 cards and kill someone outright. My favorite, since I'm not a doctor Who fan, I don't have a favorite doctor or anything are the Third Doctor, the War Doctor and the Tenth Doctor, but I think my personal favorite is the villains deck
