Fun fact, since there are 15 doctors and 26 companions the commander options are actually (16*27)-1=431 possible ways to choose your commanders. You get that number by considering the option to not have a companion or doctor in the command zone
Good point! I never considered it because having two commanders is essentially like having a free card in your hand, but I can't deny that possibility.
I feel like I should mention that Susan Foreman also makes a great partner for Five, as she curves into him, and he immediately untaps her. Plus, green gives you access to the whole suite of mana dorks.
That’s an interaction I missed! I considered it but thought it only counted as one trigger, so I dismissed it. I suspect that’s a common mistake - the more you know!
@@oddcommander5010 That's a common mistake for sure, but the interaction with the saga "The day of the doctor" is too "on spot" and has to be thought for.
The War Doctor & Susan Foreman with no 0-1 drops in the deck is an absolute power house. You get something that gives "The next spell you cast has cascade" like that Enchantment Aura for a land or TARDIS then you cast Susan Foreman from the command zone. You will proceed to exile like 80 cards and fail to find a target. The War Doctor sees them all and can now one-shot people.
Clara is a really strong companion choice for every Doctor? Welp, as someone who always had a crush on Clara and loves trigger-doubling shenanigans, I see this as an absolute win.
When rewatching a video, i really like having chapters or whatever their called. Like an indication of when you were talking about which doctor so i could quickly scroll to the third doctor for example. Algorithm!
Hear me out: #5 & Dan Lewis in charge of a Jeskai vehicles deck. Because you tap your creatures for crewing, this lets you untap them to run defense, and when they eventually get bigger than your vehicles, your vehicles become equipment to buff them further. I some cases, equipping a creature with a vehicle can be done to meet it's crew cost.
I found this video shortly after making my Sixth Doctor / Romana II deck. It's a Superfriends clone deck, and it's crazy getting some of the untap ability Planeswalkers with Romana, pretty often just goes infinite lol...
@@RobinDeTrollBoy 12's copy ability is a static ability which gives a triggered ability to the spell being cast, so Clara can't give you extras. All she does with 12 is give additional +1/+1 counter triggers.
@@tetra654 ok thanks for clarrifying on that, i think alot of the other people on youtube have mistaken that too, since i've seen alot of clara/12th doctor combo's
Quick Answer: Adric, Mathematical Genius. This little mfer can copy anything even delayed triggers on spells like Storm King's Thunder. I love having a Strionic Resonator as a commander. He is such a strong legend that I have even built a commander deck around him alone. It is Mono-Blue Initiative. I get the Initiative and then use Paradox Haze in conjunction with Adric & some untap shenanigans to run through and complete the Undercity each turn. It snowballs. I may add The Ninth Doctor to it and make it Izzet. I could then use TARDIS to tap the doctor for his effect and get to add cards like Loot Dispute which gives me a 5/5 dragon whenever I complete the Undercity.
I would be interested to see a Twelth Doctor Deck. It doesn't work well as an alternative commander for the prebuilt Paradox Power deck (which I can't help calling Faction Paradox). I think once you have built a deck to work well with the 12th Doctor, then Bill Potts will become the best companion.
Yeah I totally agree in retrospect - Bill works well with it, you just kind of have to build with that in mind. It might be the strongest but not the most universally applicable.
I hope you'll make a follow up to this addressing The 14th and 15th doctor's they had in the secret lairs, im planning on building a commander deck around the 14th and im finding out that hardly anyone on youtube has done much to see how best to use them.
@@RobinDeTrollBoy Nope there's a Secret Lair that was released with the 14th and 15th doctors. I made a video about the new cards - it's in the description of this video!
You can dislike it, but you can't denied that they went hard on special mechanics, some very fun, a lot of interactions, a lot of beautiful and lore-accurate cards, a just straiught-up a lot of cards (200 cartes inédites) !
