Super stoked to check this one out. Chatterfang was one of the main cards from MH2 that got me excited to try out. Sadly I have yet to do so, but always great to get some insight into ideas to build around this amazing card. The obvious idea is what you pointed out - Squirrel Token/Token in general builds, especially if you throw something like Maskwood Nexus in there and all your tokens (and well creatures in general) are squirrels, which can help make Chatterfang's ability that much better. The ideas you showcased in this video got my gears turning for sure, and I'm looking forward to seeing the full deck showcased in a BCC episode, and then the upgrades that can come along for it in the sets that are yet to come out. Great work as always, another banger addition to the BCC for sure. #Roadto1k - For a bit of deck tech to make you hated, especially being in Golgari, I would suggest Tainted Strike or Triumph of the Horde as well.

Squirrels got more interesting with LOTR on the food side of things. Peregrin Took being a nice one card food generator, even a free outlet. I like Saw in Half. A very versatile card that potentially doubles your output. Bitterblossom combos nicely with Skullclamp which isn't a such a bad card in itself. The biggest issue with squirrels is the slow rollout. I took out Doubling Season, as well as primal vigor. I kept Parallel Lives for the art, but you can get perfectly good doubling effects for around 3 mana these days.

The Squirrel tribe is not a fast tribe. That's for sure. The cards you mentioned are awesome, especially Saw in Half. That card is amazing and one that I seldom use on my opponents' creatures. I sense that the Squirrel tribe may be one more Squirrel set away from being much more threatening, particularly if they can speed things up!

@@mtgburgeoning3205 Yup. Recently due to the players i play with playing all kinds of fast tribal commander decks. I picked up a Defense of the Heart. Pretty much 4 mana for a 2 turn clock with Ivy League Denizen and Scurry Oak. But only if back is to the wall. I generally just go for something a more fair. A Deranged Hermit and a Blood Artist for example.

@@leodalkey651 Yes! Man, Defense of the House was an absolute power-house back in the day. So few players ever cared about packing enchantment removal. It either triggered right away or kept the other players from putting too many creatures on their sides of the battlefield. The Hermits are amazing Squirrel-producers. Do you play with Liege of the Hollows?

@@mtgburgeoning3205 Way back in urza's days I visited a local store and I wanted to play somebody. I forget what I was running. One of the shop keeps brought out his vintage Squirrels. It was so fast for those days. Back then Squirrels were taking over vintage.
