13:35 Important detail: Urza's Saga does NOT let you tutor cards with mana VALUE 0 or 1, but only mana COSTS. Lotus Bloom and artifact lands have mana value of 0, but they can't be tutored by Saga.

NGL I've always wanted to build the jankiest of jank Kaldra decks that has 4 of each Kaldra card (helm, sword, shield & compleat) & Mirror Gallery. Then use the Helm's ability to make a Kaldra token & attach all the equipment to it. I am well aware that would make at least 8 pieces of equipment redundant, but the idea of a 44/44 Kaldra avatar roaming the battlefield w/ 8 helmets, 8 swords, & 8 shields hanging off it's body sounds delightful to pull off.

Yeah, that's a visual mistake -- if you listen to what I say, I describe it as busted in Standard.

It's definitely possible for shadowspear to catch up to jitte at some point; it can go in most of the same decks, + many other urza's saga decks, ++ it's just straight up in more formats, with more competitive support from wotc (more points) than vintage/legacy.

Correction on the Lost Jitte, it doesn’t require it to be combat damage to a PLAYER, just combat damage.

I've never seen anybody elect to transform The Irencrag. Literally not even once. One time I almost did it by accident, but I caught myself lmao. Equip 3 will perpetually keep it as a rock forever.

For some decks you do go that long, and it can be correct to transform it. This is more true if your deck has any really evasive creatures or ones with value. Green/White Rabbits for example can get solid value from it with Fynn transforming it.

@@jackvogel701nowadays you get Jitte, Shadowspear, Kaldra's Complete and Sword of Fire and Ice all crammed together in a single token created as an ETB in a single, cheap, (uncounterable?) creature. Ones that can be tutored up. Uh it has other keywords too. So, no problem in jitte /Rant

an honorable mention for this list should have been Stoneforge Mystic. Many equipment, even ones not featured here (i.e Hammer) would never have reached their level of notoriety without that 1/2 Kor joining the fray ^_^ Im surprised Batterskull and Dissection tools didnt make the list... with more emphasis on the former since I saw it all over the place before O.O Edit: oh... brainfart... neither of those 2 cards I mentioned are legendary... -_-

It seems to me that jitte probably wouldn’t even be very good in modern post modern horizons power creep. It is one of the many cards on the modern ban list that probably don’t belong there any more…

Lost Jitte's art pisses me off, since it's incredibly clear that either the artist (or more likely the designer who wrote the description for it) has no idea what a jitte is, despite the original being very much a jitte.

You do NOT need creatures to power the Jitte. Energy Chamber, Power Conduit and other cards that use charge counters to power up the weapon and just sit back and do some serious control. Of course you also have Doubling Season which makes the Jitte RIDICULOUS. But that's why it's so powerful. An equipment that technically never needs a creature to use its full effects.

Especially with Lost Jitte. Untap land, imagine just overloading counters and controlling the board with a couple of artifacts and the two Jittes!!! Crazy.
