Last year about December 2023 ,purchased the M.T.H. ,E M D demonstrator set which was in excellent condition with Proto -Sound one (1) from a local train store in Washington State for $400.00 before taxes and I see them on E Bay priced from about $595.00 to $695.00. Al the above prices are for all three units in the box. I also found and ordered an M.T.H. , E 8 Rock Island set in new/like new condition in the box which were Proto- Sound two( 2) at a online train store and I paid $500.00 and the total for my purchase was $552.00. I am hoping that Lionel bring back the 21 inch Rock Island passenger cars again to use with these M.T.H. diesels . I like your videos because they are very informative for someone like me ,who is just returning to the hobby after many years of being away from it. Thank You. !!!
I have these E8s in the EMD version with 9 matching passenger cars and upgraded it to PS2. By far one of my favorite sets in my collection because of the paint scheme.
