In my experience and seeing numerous comments all over the web, increasing methylfolate slowly doesn't help with intolerance or presumed overmethylation from increased folate levels. E.g., the most I can take is 100mcg, and I've done everything you recommend. Glycine, etc. There's just something else.

I think im in the same boat been researching all over to see how I can increase dosage of methly folate without experiencing headaches and side effects I tried the start low and go slow but still can get past 500mg ...how are are going 3 months later ..could you eventually increase from the 100?

@@aidanbrooks6626 Hey, I don't really remember what happened 9 months ago, but I think I tried to lower my homocysteine and treat poor methylation, and it didn't really work for my depression

I’ve heard that folate can increase inflammation in the presence of high ferritin. Is this true? If so, the increased inflammation could cause mood issues.

If someone has the mthfr and comt variants, can choline supplememts and methylcobalamin cause anxiety?

With or without the variants, it is possible.

I know 2 people with MTHFR mutation and double dose of B6 in the blood. Does it mean that it can’t be turned into active form and the body is in deficit? Do they have to supplement with the activated form? How to get rid of this blood excess? They don’t supplement.

Could be low ALP or low status of a cooperating nutrient.

Probably not important for everyone but for people who get ups and downs in methylation symptoms it’s more stable.

Can I ask why do I experience jaw clenching / teeth clenching when I take methly folate ? max dose I take in day is 800mg !?

For me i had a lot of teeth clenching basically whole day. I tested vit d it was very low around 34, (despite tanning basically whole summer the year before) i started supplementing 50,000 iu and it gone away in a few hours. That was coupke months ago But now it came back despite me tanning sometimes, supplementing magnesium, a lot of vit d and k-2 (i am taking many mg of mk-4) and getting couple gramms of calcium from a lot of kefir i am drinking every day. I thought that has to do with mineral imbalance, supplementing with b1, niacinimide just making me peeing it out no effect so i am not deficient. Thanks to your comment now i wonder could this be a methylation problem. I also remember even when i was deficient in many nutrient it would go away if i get a good sleep and the opposite its hurts almost all day specially while before bed
