PLEASE NOTE - Skip to 1:01 to bypass replaced audio Due to a copyright claim, I've had to replace the music for around 45 seconds of the video. Because the replacing system RU-vid offers is incredibly basic, it overlays any audio, not just music. So my usual opening 'Hello and welcome...' etc, had to go. This was the only way in which I could keep the video up and fully visible without completely deleting and re-uploading, which was the last thing I wanted to do. Hope you all understand. Other episodes of the Ident Review have been affected in a similar way, so any video that has this as the pinned comment will have replaced audio, and the timestamp as above from where you can enjoy the episode as intended

I’ve always adored the older MTV idents, they represented the creativity of the channel back then. These days the channel... ain’t so hot. But these newer idents are still pretty fantastic and reminiscent of that older creativity!

mtv in america should employ this ident system. all the international channels seem to have a giant leg up on creativity.

When MTV came on the cable in Belgium, around 1989, they had an cgi ident where the subject was a red living room. There were different versions, and it story was a walk through this living room through the point of view of different animals. For example, the camera would fly from wall to wall imitating, a fly. Or it would be the point of vue of an elephant entering the room, and in the end it sank through the floor. I am looking for these idents for so long...

I quite like these, in a weird sort of a way. It's such a shame that the channel's content is absolutely terrible.

I feel that the ident by AJ Jefferies with the yellow blobs should’ve been used for a little kids’ channel like Nick Jr., since I think that overall atmosphere, nature and style is too cute and childish for a network that’s for a more older audience like MTV.
