Watching these tutorials is killing me sweetly. I am an instructor, via Ajarn Chai, residing in San Antonio, TX, USA. Recently, I began teaching again yet I have no one to work the advanced methods with. The rust is so bad I had forgotten techniques such as these. It's amazing the type of hubris that exists in my city. The "Top Tier" clubs are so protective of themselves that instead of learning they shell up. Man, The only way to bloody learn is to fall on your ass! Enough preaching. Thank you Stuart, Olin, and the lad in the video

+Christian Morales You will have to let me know what gym you are at and I will look you up!! I travel around the world visiting as many 'top tier' clubs as possible in order to film and share knowledge like this with everyone. There are always going to be those that do not want to share their experience. I never worry about those that don't, I just enjoy and be thankful for those that do. Glad you are enjoying all the vids, they truly are a pleasure to make!

Awesome stuff! So few videos about getting out of a clinch. I've been a victim of the clinch (and not being able to get out of it) many times. Quite a helpless feeling.

A question. How would you guard against the knees if the hands are busy? A mean the knees really hurts.

If they are straight knees, keep your hips close to your opponent. If they are round knees, you can pop your hip towards it to take the sting out, or you can time a sweep while they are on one leg.

In my opinion you should not use your hands in order to block knees in the clinch (unless it is a panic move). The clinch in MT is ALL about control and if you are in danger you should refocous your efforts to controlling the other persons neck using your weight and footwork to be able to land those devastating knees yourself. ...As for avoiding the impact, hip-against-hip, turn slightly to kill the angle of the knee.
