Hi, I do judo, the weight classes are between 81kg and 73kg and are often the same day weigh-ins, my weight is around 77-78kg, I've been force-feeding myself, 4-5 meals a day, to gain weight but my body doesn't seem to want to increase weight to fight at 81kg. My plan instead would be 4-5 weeks out, to do intermittent fasting, eating a carb-heavy meal before training (usually in the evening) and then a more protein-based meal after for recovery, with the aim of losing max 1kg a week, would you recommend this? It is more than a 5% body weight cut which you recommended, about a 6% body weight, but I would see it more as a leaning-out phase due to starting in advance. Thank you. This isn’t my first weight cut. But North Carolina has this annoying rule of same day mma weight ins. I felt like I was dying the day of the fight.
