Teeps and long knees are often used in an aggressive fashion. Using sweeps as a way to counter them can play a big part in nullifying their use in both sparring and competitive fighting.

Love that left knee sweep. Important note for someone who hasn't done the first sequence, don't jab very hard or they will be pushed back and then can't frame on the head for the sweep/disbalance for knee. Fast flick jab just to stun and impair vision.

Very good english for a non native speaker :) Very good instruction and demonstrating why each step is importanf Watching your feet as you do the side step its important to step with the lead foot first so your weight balances on your back leg as you do the hop, allowing you to put power into your sweep in your front leg. I was missing that! Thank you for showing!!!

Idk how the first one would actually work in a real fight. Looks to telegraphed. The second knee counter is legit though

Anything can happen in a fight when adrenalin and blood flowing it's a chess match but I agree ,no one's taking down a professional with this technique in the ring hence for training purposes only .👊

The first one works in a Muay Thai fight, because people teep a lot in Muay Thai fights. Since getting teeped hurts, messes up your rhythm, and is letting the opponent win on points with relatively little effort, you have to deal with it. If you don't, you'll get teeped to death for 3x3 minute rounds, lose on points, and have a bad time overall. Having established that you have to deal with the teep, one common technique to do so is with a low scooping parry, as shown in the video. If someone consistently goes for that, then the set-up works. It's specific to Muay Thai, and thus less likely to work in other combat sports, but this is a MT coach showing a MT set-up, so keep that in mind.
