I spend a few hours walking the sand flats using a quick and easy method to catch muddies. After lighting a fire, the muddy is soon cooked. I sit back and enjoy this seafood delight! #returnoutdoors #mudcrab #catchandcook #crabbing
Most definitely a much healthier system up there compared to the Mackay area. My mate and i put 8 pots in at the Seaforth area 3 weeks ago, and over three days managed to bag 2 crabs, not good. Well, Brad, keep up the excellent videos👍, they keep me motivated to keep trying.!!!!!🦀🦀🦀
Sounds like you put the hard yards in for your crabs. Hopefully the crabbing improves in your area over the coming months. Glad you enjoyed the video!👍
Catching the crabs certainly didn’t break the bank or require too much time. It definitely tasted good cooked in clean seawater. Thanks for your support!👍
Shit mate that was an awkward fall on your knee. Hope you're ok now. It's unreal where you can get a feed of muddies. You wouldn't think they would be just off the beach in shallow water. Another great video mate. 🦀🦀🦀
It is always worth exploring different ideas when fishing and crabbing. Keeps it interesting and lots to be learnt from a new adventure. Thanks for your comment!👍
Those dilly pots of yours seem much more effective than some of the larger ones available where you tie the bait down on the bottom. Have you found the same thing? Also seems as though the crabs get well caught up in the blue netting when you're retrieving the pots
The dillies are very easy to use and have a good catch rate if checked often. The crabs do get caught in the mess quite often. This can be an advantage but requires a bit of patience to free the crab. Thanks for your comment!👍
Not bad for a hour or so and a good feed , must have been those soldier crabs set up a trap for you sneaky little b******ds they are , brought back some memories of being out near the aims and seeing thousands of those crabs belting across the sand good video mate , where else can you do that .
There are very strict rules regarding the taking of mud crabs in Queensland, Australia. I think these rules are very important for protecting mud crab numbers. Thanks for your comment!👍
