MISSING Too Much without TOM PETTY... Sadly, the Song seems SO HAUNTING... Just IMAGINE how Many MORE CLASSICS we're Never going to Hear? SAD... SAD... Real SAD
I only discovered Tom Petty about a few weeks ago, totally hooked on to his music. I bought multiple cd's and I hope my 3 children will one day, when they are older; listen to those cd's and comprehend the feelings his lyrics can awake to reflect on daily life and what is important. Rejoice the little things in life ;)
I love this. The music is superb,, Mike CAMPBELL guitar sounds are just so crazy good. It’s like he could go on forever and ever and Tom Petty’s songs for me are so great because he writes and sings from a place he comes from . He sings from a place he knows about deep to him. It’s a beautiful thing and very indearing and he had such great taste in all the musicians that I’ve seen him play with. Thank you for sharing.🌻😘🦆
He gave us everything he had, {everything was from his soul.}..MY{ version} of a true Soul man, ...I guess his Native American background Always had him connected, a beautiful well grounded soul, ...now a free soul. ..I hope this world never forgets his gifts he shared with us to the very end . Love you T.E.P. R.I.P.
We all miss you Tom the hunger is slowly turning into an ache . The life we craft as we live is the basic sum of what we are hungry for . And what we fill the void with is in fact the culmination there of . It takes resolve to declare. I Ain’t going to be Hungry no more!!!!!!!!!
This song is by far one of my favs...how contradictory is that when I absolutely love Tom Petty and any music/band he was involved in. Tom, we ALL miss you!
Is this really Tom's last song on his last recorded album, and possibly a message to us all? What an exit to an amazing career! TP was a one of a kind soul and true artist all around.
Last song on the last album. I listened to it for the first time after he was gone so that line was a real bittersweet thing to hear him say. So much beautiful music, so many good things left behind... and more lives will be changed by it for years to come. Seems like he's still here to me. ❤
I think most Petty fans are not aware of Mudcrutch, and therefore are not aware of this incredible song. Up there with anything he did with the Heartbreakers, IMHO.
Today is the first day I've ever heard them and I'm 36. My boss told me about them at work when I brought up Learning to fly and Won't back down. I'm happy and pissed at the same time lol
Happy 66th Birthday Tom Petty! This music is important to me. I use music to feel more stable grounded and confident. Channels my emotions. A spiritual ritual.
I agree on all of your points. This music is grounding, and for me it speaks of the backwoods side of Alachua county, Florida where some of us are from.
I hear you! Music has literally saved my life. I can honestly say that I would not have made it this far without it. I know there are a great many out there who would say the same thing. Tom Petty had what only very, very few musicians are gifted with: the ability to actually reach into people and touch their lives in a way that soothes the heart and mind. I wish I had better words to express that with, but there it is. ♥
I have been a TPatHB since the 80"s, and knew the past history of Mudcrutch... but did not know they released not 1 but 2 albums without telling me. 8D. And then last week I heard "Scare Easy" and thought it was on a new Heartbreakers album. God what a find. Thanks
Somehow, it is fitting that TP's last album was with Mudcrutch. And I love that he said he reformed Mudcrutch cos of how much love Tom Leadon expressed for him in the interview for the film, Runnin Down a Dream.
Good stuff. Nice to hear TP on lead vocal. I almost "met" him here in Gainesville, FL. We were leaning against the wall at Dub's, a rock joint where every local good rock band played, listening to a tight band. Just us two, 3-4 feet apart. Such bright yellow hair! And decked out in black leather and boots. I left him alone. Was probably in town visiting family. This was back in the early 80's.
I saw Mudcrutch at Dubs (early 1970s) and Tom played bass and sang, wearing a white tee shirt. The band sent me a J as obviously a fan already. No bright yellow hair for Tom. Maybe you are remembering the dancer (was a strip club).
Tom Petty did not play at Dubs in the early 80s mister Math. He lived in California. The few times he came to Gainesville in the 1980s he either played on the porch of friends like the Leadon family (Eagles, Mudcrutch) or at the University of Florida stadium. Maybe do some reading?
Love it! Now why the hell didn't they fade out "trailer" instead of giving it that abrupt ending. It could have faded out and then this kinda fades back in with that same harmonica. Woulda been really cool!
Never really cared for Petty too much. I believe I first heard Trailer on the show Roadies. I love the sound, it sounds fresh, renewed and influenced! nice to hear the guitars doing their thing too
Been playing this all day since I got the email with the link! Got the album on pre-order, but here in the UK the release date has been put back to June 2016 :'( - With this fantastic song available, and having heard it, how on earth am I going to be able to wait until June to hear the rest! Help! :) xx
"Hungry No More" comes off to me as a good bye song...Kinda like "All Apologies"or he's not as passionate about things he was once immensely passionatel about..Well to me anyways...What y'a'll gangsters think??
