k read thats one thing I've heard Tom say more than once was, if your not going to do it right, then why do it at all....✌ Tom was a total pro all the way until the end. Broken hip and all, Rest In Peace man, your my hero..✌
@@Highland804 it's funny. If I had to guess which wilburys woulda been first to go I woulda said bob. Pretty sure though him and Keith Richards are gonna be singing a duet when the rest of earth is long gone. Healthy living doesn't keep you alive longer, having a reason to be here does🙏
This song is just perfection, so underrated, worth more airplay than it received, thanks Tom, these are the gems that ya left us all with, and its worth it weight in gold, ten fold
It's that Country thing that Mudcrutch do so very well. The one and ONLY missing element of Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers for me, blooms perfectly in Mudcrutches music. Amazing!!! I love this track. Everything Tom Petty and his bandmates touch turns to pure gold. Please come back to the U.K soon. We are all waiting for you.
I cannot describe how happy this makes me. I've always said "Trailer is the best B-side that should've been an A-side." Thank you guys so much for putting this on the album, and the added lines are perfect. Can't wait for the new album and to see you guys live!!!
This song brings a smile to my face. A fantastic recording by a rock n roll legend. Thanks Tom Petty and Mudcrutch for releasing something good in 2016!
Woah! I never thought about that. What a good fucking album to go out on too. This man meant more in my life then I can ever explain. I just woke up this morning thinking about him and came here.
I graduated high school, I bought her a trailer In a little park by the side of the road I coulda had the Army, I coulda had the Navy But no, I had to go for a mobile home [Chorus] Yes, I gave it all to you, babe All to you and that trailer, too, babe [Verse 2] I kept up my interest, I kept up my payments She never said goodbye, I never asked why Man, we used to dance to Lynyrd Skynyrd Aw, she used to look so good at times [Chorus] Yes, I gave it all to you, babe Wasn't room in that trailer for two, babe [Bridge] I can't find a band-aid that gives me an answer That shines any light on the way things went I get by on my own time, I ain't cut out for workin' I ain't cut out for nothin', it pays my rent [Chorus] I guess, I gave it all to you, babe All to you, and that trailer, too, babe Oh
This is fantastic! I always loved the version on the 'Playback' box set, but this one kind of blows it out of the water for me. The added age in Tom Petty's voice also adds an extra weight that really sells it. Can't wait for the new album!
+Burley Snake - I agree. It has more of a vibrancy to it. I liked Trailer from 1984/1985 when he wrote it, but it came off a bit flat. This version has more personality to it with the extended vocal he uses on it.
Can’t believe it’s been over a year without TP. I saw him on the last tour for my 14th birthday, he was so cool as usual. You’ll be forever loved and remembered by us fans all over the world, TP. Thanks for everything, we love you ❤️🎸
I'm not a huge TP&THB fan, but I sure do love Mudcrutch and I'm looking forward to this new album! For those of you who take issue with the first part of my comment, I do like some of their stuff, but it never really "grabbed" me. Music is so subjective like that. Now I do have to say Running Man's Bible is one of my most favorite songs and I play it every time I'm somewhere that has an internet jukebox!
Amazing that Tom recorded a new version of a great 1985 B side that was supposed to be on Southern Accents. This one is a bit mellowed out from the edge the original had, but I think it actually makes it better with his mature voice giving the song more feeling.
I've been wishing for more Mudcrutch for a long time! I love TP & the Heartbreakers, but this raw sound is so great! I only wish I they were making a stop up here in WASHINGTON!!!
Welcome back lovely people, it's so healthy and emotional to listen to you again, thanks for making my day with that smooth voice and nostalgic sound. Hugs from Argentina.
Seeing Tom for the 4th time in Indy. He blew the speakers last time and took 2 hours to fix it. Lol. Sadly I have never heard this song or "the apartment song" played live. Why!? Hidden gems 💎 among his troves of #1 hits. Can't wait he's playing w Joe Walsh.
I think this is the third version of the song I've heard? This one's on The Best Of Everything. Quite different to the B side of Don't Come Around Here No More. I like it even better! I had no idea that it was Mudcrutch. This truly sounds like straight-up Heartbreakers at their best. I'm a huge TP fan, but have a hard time finding Mudcrutch songs that I enjoy as much. This is absolutely one of them! Perhaps the others will grow on me in time.
Brilliant! One of the great Tom Petty rarities now hopefully given the attention it deserves with this updated version by Mudcrutch. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!!
One of the saddest songs I have ever heard - the raw emotions behind the lyrics - "Yes I gave it all to you, babe --- Wasn't room enough in that trailer for two, babe" wow just unbelievable
Anyone heard the shelters? It's his step sons awesome rock band and the heartbreakers play on a few of there tracks. They have a totally different wound from tom but it's got that same heart. And growing up with one of the greatest song writers of all time certainly didn't hurt this kids lyrical ability at all. There's a great interview with them after tom died and it made me cry when he says "one thing about my day is everyone knows he was a nice guy. But all the things you've ever heard about him being a good man don't do him justice. He was all those good things and much much more." Something like that. It's still hard for me to think petty is gone. I started listening to him when I was 4. My dad had a VHS of a bunch of his music videos and I never stopped. So it felt like someone I was very close to dying when he went. He'll always be the greatest to me. Amituofo tom.
a Fender (G) Harmonica works here... 12 bucks on ebay incld shipping. (New) Bought it for Mary Jane's Last Dance... :) ,,,good enough for a first Harp.
There are/were very few bands that I absolutely adored there every album as well as their every song..My choices will have a somewhat shortlist simply due to the fact that it's hard to write hit songs not to even mention insanely GREAT albums.I will name a few of my all time favorites..Tom Petty, with or without the heartbreakers,Mudcrutch,Neil Young,Mad Season,Radiohead,The Verve,Led Zeppelin,Robert Nesta Marley,,John Prine and Beck...To only list a few..
Love the sound! Love the original too but this is just as good. Just wish they would have faded it out at the end after his "ohhh" instead of the awkward sudden stop.
