Happy Easter everyone! Just popping out to make the most of the beautiful weather & will respond to comments later on. Thank you to everyone who pointed out that the moorhen chicks are in fact coots! I guess that is where the saying "bald as a coot" comes from. I am in love with those coot chicks. Have a lovely weekend. Nicola xx
Happy Easter! I would love to learn more about the ceramic egg artist. If you have already done a video about it, please post your link. There is a similar event done in Oregon where a glass artist leaves a bunch of colorful 'fishing weights' along the beach for collectors. They are quite valuable now and hard to find.
These videos are an absolute treasure - and not only because you find treasure! They are a great escape and stress reliever. What’s more: they’re educational and informative!
We lived in Beirut for a few years. My mom would study the wave patterns, wait for a huge storm blowing east and go down to the shore right after. She found Roman coins, an oil lamp and beads and now...I have them! So fun
I love those duck's feet! They are like big white maple leaves. They take such loving care of their little ones. That was so sweet. What a fun day of finds. Thank you for sharing them with us.
The pipe bowl is Edward VII and Queen Alexandra, which would put it at 1902 at the earliest. Well Done! I have an exceptionally horrid looking moustache cup from their coronation
I have to admit that I'm living vicariously through your videos. There's a treasure hunter's heart beating inside of me that would love to be able to mudlark. Love your videos!
I'm American but most of my ancestors are English, and I love seeing the history you uncover, i feel a bit closer to them clear across the ocean. So interesting! if i'm ever able to come visit, I would pay someone to take me mudlarking lol
A great bunch of friends having a nice time...you can tell how long it has been scince I visited Old Smokey...I have no idea what the comedy building behind Tower Bridge is at all..lol..big splash at 21:38...I think the egg contains more if you leave it as it is...a prezzy and a dream...nice one Nic, Sci, Nugg & Bill.
Hello nicola, I'd just like to thank you for your video channel as it must take alot of time and effort. I particularly enjoy you passion in finding the personal history behind the finds.
OMG I haven't even started and I know I'll love it. Just getting the dinner on so you can be my evening entertainment while I eat. I hardly ever use my TV now, just to watch videos. RU-vid content is so much better than the muck the commercial channels dish out, at least in Australia anyway.
Hi ya Cherryblossum Plumtree!! OMGoodness I couldn't agree with you more!! And although nothings perfect RU-vid still has real people creating real content anyway, riiiight?? Happiest New Year to you + yours from me + mine in Toronto, Ontario, Canada!
Hi Nicola, it's me your mud sister. As I watch your Mud Crew I am so jealous that you can explore and find things of such historical importance. I LOVE seeing what you find. The only entertainment we have out here in the Mojave Desert of California is exploring with my local friends and finding 2000 dumped tires. Of course cleaning the desert is a good thing. We find dumped jacuzzi's, boats, refrigerators, kitchen cabinets, shoes, and drywall and everything else you can imagine. I'm more interested in the small stuff. At least we don't need a metal detector to find what we're finding. But, again, thank you for your wonderful, serene videos. You know I'll be back. Margaret :-)
look further, the mojave is rich with things if you know where to look. look at the roads all over the desert that no one has ever lived on in the middle of nowhere. there was a huge civilization there
Wonderful video! What a joy to see all my favorite larkers working together. I swear, it would be so awesome to see a show where you all travel the worlds beaches and shores, finding crazy old things to show us. Youre all so cute and have some great chemistry goin' on. Keep on muckin', my friends
Oh my, your photos along the Thames were so different and beautiful. My favorite part was your pottery heart. Lovely Nic, truly lovely and one of your best videos. Thanks for taking us along.
Very nice video. Many of my American friends (diggers) came over to search for treasures. Thank you Chill Bill & Nicola for hosting my friend Nugget who is a very accomplished detectorist in the US. Nice finds from all. Crotal bell in the Thames amazing & the chicks were adorable. Cheers
Imagine if you could train the coots to pick all the stuff up that you cannot reach ☺ I love this woman and her videos I could listen to that voice all day long and she's gorgeous. Great video as always 👍👍
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful. I just came back from visiting a crazy DRUNK sister and I needed to come back and find calm with my normal mud sister. Thank you Nicola for giving me that peace. ..
Thank you for posting your part of the Nugget Noggin adventure . I love Nugget Noggin don't you? I watched his posts when he was just a kid. Surprise! Loved seeing Si without his cap. I long for your posts every week. Soothing, history, adventure, wildlife, music, laughs, art, insights, finds, trash pickup, scavenging..... so many of my favorite things.
The Thames. The waterway that keeps on giving!!! Chill Bill seems to be the type that has a good time everywhere he goes! He’s the best!! Mike from New York
So gorgeous....love your vids Nicola. You're full of charm and as a big fan of Nugget, it surprises me not at all that he gave you that bell. He's a gentleman and a beautiful person.
What great finds. Wow, pasties with names! Quite a bit of talent and patience Nic. Now we want the history and recipe from your Grandma. Happy Easter to you and yours. Blessings
Have I ever told you how much I love your videos? Just loved it! It was good to see Nugget noggin' there with you and so sweet of him to leave you with the crotel bell. He really cleaned up out there didn't he? The heart was sweet, your art is beautiful! Thanks, Happy Easter!!
Dearest Nicola, You always amaze us! Thanks so much for your time. What an amazing story for Easter Sunday! We send our love across the pond . May you stay blessed! Until next time, your dear friends, Mike and my Lady . See ya soon!
I do enjoy watching you hunt for treasure. It's so nice to see people hunting and not yelling all kinds of profanity over a great find. You are lovely and keep on hunting your wonderful pipe bowls. They are beautiful. Congratulations on a job well done. Watching from the States.
Nicola thanks a lot. Please cray the egg. Love love this channel. Also follow the others especially Michael for years. Knowing Nugget Noggin I knew he would give you that bell. Just like him. Happy Easter. God bless you from Ontario Canada
Thank you Nicola. Another beautifully done video. Lovely to see everyone get some good finds. I'm not surprised that Nugget gave you the bell, he has a big heart.
Thank you for sharing this larking adventure, Nicola! Love, love, love the Moor Hen babies! Interesting to see the ropes intertwined in their nest material.
Happy Easter Nicola. Love you video was great to see London from the rivers perspective. haven't visited London for 25 yrs so great to see how much it has changed. Your Cornish pasties looked delicious, would love the recipe.
It's so lovely to share in your mudlarking adventures Nicola. I'm much too old now to be ferreting around on shorelines and the like but it's fascinating to still be able to join you. And thanks too for your clear love of wildlife. Who else would have rescued a struggling wasp and taken it to safety, as you did on one of your outings. Oh and please don't smash that egg! Its beauty and mystery are so much more important than what's probably inside!
I had a very emotional reaction to the music. I suddenly thought of all the people who had passed that river point, throughout time, and how all their eyes had seen different views of London. Some lonesome, some going home, some bored with work, some thrilled by adventure. Some straining for new experiences, some weary from a life of struggle. All passing the foreshore, riding the eternal flow of tides. ⛵📖♥️
Hi Nicola. Great fun out with your mud lark friends. Like the music to go with the video. What a way to spend a day doing what you are passionate about. Can’t wait for the next adventure.👍😀
I'm mesmerized by this videos. The amazing generous people, the beauty, and what in the world!?!??!! That river is a giving river. I can't believe it. Some things are right there on the surface. How in the world?! I live in Lisbon. The Tagus is a huge river. The city is very old and we find nothing . This is unbelievable. Well done. What a group of kind people and beautiful finds
Greetings from Clay co. Missouri USA! Fair weather Good finds GREAT Company Excellent time! Thanks for letting me tag along!! Good on you NN (Michael) That's exactly what I was thinking @13:56. Comes around; goes around I think I'd have to leave the eggs whole. Humpty Dumpty and all. But that's just me. They're yours; Do what you like. Thanks again! Best of luck & Happy Hunting!
Well Happy Easter, I saw most of this yesterday, so Happy 4/20 too! Nice Hoodie Si! Lovely video as always Nicola. I need to watch all 4 of your videos of this trip. I imagine your brand might have a heart, anchor and a clay pipe or two...just an idea. I'm sure you'll create something fitting. Chill Bill I saw your video 1st, I''ll check for Si's and Nugget Noggin's...looks like you all had a blast with Bill's new foreshore hot spot...after Nugget found all those musketballs I think I'll always think of musketballs now as Nugget Balls! Just kidding, I watch Nuggets videos too and he's now a real Mud Lover and Mudlarker now. It was nice to see him give you the Crotal bell and Si gave him a silver coin. Very kool group of friends. Y'all are so busy keeping us entertained, I can tell by all the comments that we all appreciate it. Yup they're Coots alright, never saw the chicks before...kool hairdo! Have a nice day...I'm off to eat some bunny ears...
The music while you’re on the river in the beginning of the video sounds like it could be from Downton Abbey...oh how I miss that show! Now back to the video:) so excited for this one!!😁
Great video! You Do Such a fantastic Job on your videos! My wife and I both love your art work! Thanks again for your passion for teaching these 2 Americans from Boise Idaho about your History of your great country!
Loved the video as ever, always happy to see one of yours pop up :) Great to see the Mud Crew and their finds. The chicks were gorgeous but you still haven't seen Moorhen chicks because those were Coots! My vote goes to Edward and Alexandra on the pipe bowl and don't open the egg :)
Great spot guys!(and one lovely lady...🤗). Oh, Si you kill me with your jokes...Si; “Is this a pipe stem” (while showing this huge plastic pipe!!!) Hahaha😂😂👍🏼 Great finds and a wonderful group of treasure hunters... This video put a big smile on my face! Keep ‘m coming, Nicola. Greetings to all from a fan in Canada....🙏🏼❤️🍀🇨🇦HH and GL!!☺️😁 Btw, Wow, Nugget Noggin gave you the Croats Bell....!!! That is so generous and sweet of him. I met Michael here last June in Toronto and will meet him again this June....He is a very kind soul...✌🏼😘
Hi Nicola~~brilliant vid: editing/photography/music/ overall production 10/10. The "watery wipe" @ 2:30 was delightful. Also the diving coots, pottery shards valentine, artistic pasties 👍. Having followed Nugget Noggin for a couple of years I'm not surprised by his kind gesture...he's a Southern Gentleman. 💙
There are those buildings!! I knew they were early, The Old Royal Naval Hospital in Greenwich, so that is Greenwich! About the eggs that have a rattle to them... don't break them! You might find that what is inside are simple things to make it rattle... Keep it whole. I am convinced it is meant to be special and you own it! Thanks, great episode, I am so glad to know about those buildings... So they came after the fire....... but survived the blitz!
Enjoyed this very interesting video and reminds me that when I was a child out with my fishing chums I found what I thought was a farthing in the mud of the River Humber in East Yorkshire. I handed it to my friend who instantly pocketed it.. Later that day I found my chums munching on bars of toffee and when I asked where they got the money from they all laughed. It transpired that the farthing was a tanner and therefore able to purchase the candy - I must hastened to add that we got a lot more for our money in those days. All ended well as they shared out the remainder of the candy. lol I will be on the look out for more of your interesting videos.
So, I am thinking how much I love the music in the background as you travel along the river, when suddenly, it is very reminiscent of the Thomson to Downton Abbey.....love it!❤
Hope you had a lovely Easter Nicola, made me smile seeing the Tower of London behind Tower Bridge because I was working there the weekend. Thank you for sharing your finds -looks like all of you had fun! Love the ceramic pottery heart I want to do something like that, what an inspiration! The Coot baby chicks were beautiful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
