So my sister and I went beachcombing in a little town near us (Whittier, Alaska) and we invoked your spirit for luck. We got it too! Found some lovely things.

Angelo's coat is excellent!! A piece of wearable art, with a some serious history added in. A lot of artist who make pieces like that actually use material from costumes or special clothing from friends or family that have stories and special meaning behind them as well. Love it. Of course they sounded awesome too!!

That is so great that you got up on stage with your son. Music has always been a big part of my family lives as well. My son is a drummer and I have been learning to play bass guitar. My wife and I were also in band in school growing up. Looks like you have a great relationship with your son and that is fabulous. I also thought his coat he had on was super cool. Loved it. Another vicarious life experience watching these vids, Nicola. I "dunelark" (or should that be sandlarking?) at our local beaches, especially after a storm invades us. Much fun. And, if I may say, in all due respect, that I find you , HHHOOOOTTTTTT!

I loved all the pieces! I started buying Christmas crackers about 5 years ago for the kids at Christmas. They aren't something normal here in the US so the kids & we adults love them, however, your little cat is so much cooler than the plastic bits in the current ones! Also, it never fails to amaze me how the pipe stems don't get broken. The 2nd one you found was even upside down & it was perfect. Just amazes me! Liked the footage of your trip!

Great finds (sad about the seagull) -- but awesome about your son and the cruise! From what little I have seen of Angelo and his band, they give Bon Jovi a run for his money! But I think that Bon Jovi's band is going to run away and tour with you! Hitting the best mudlarking spots with Foreshore Concerts!!!! Love it! Nicola, I'm retired and living in the Dordogne now but when I was a boy living on the Dartford/Crayford borders back in the 1950s, Mackintosh used to do a weekly door-to-door delivery service for their soft drinks. When we opened the door, we'd shout, 'Mum, it's the Mackintosh man!' As I recall, they used to do cherryade, orangeade and all sorts as well as the ginger beer that's mentioned if you look them up on the internet.

Nice finds and some more of you and your son's band trip how wonderful glad you have had a fun adventure together on a Musical Tour!!!; )

I notice in the Allen & Hanbury advertisement at 23:00 Jujubes are listed with other candy-like concoctions. I assume they are the same as Jujubes known in the US. Here they are a rather stiff, yet chewy jellied candy. The ones I know here are usually fruit or sometimes licorice or spice flavored. They are rather like your "jelly babies", though stiffer and rather cylindrical or of a flattish oval shape. The overall impression of Jujubes is that they are rather old-fashioned. They are typically sold in small, cellophane wrapped cardboard boxes. Nice finds, as usual! I am always intrigued when you find the clay pipes.
