Still! The ref didn't act. My assumptions was he was a racist ref that that just didn't like Ali obviously. If it was another boxer maybe this ref would've acted as a proper referee and disqualified Weipner?

LoL...I saw a documentary where this white guy says: We all let out a stream, shouting, laughing, booing Ali and cheering out "gumba". We thought..Hey Chuck can/will win this thing. They forgot something. It was ALI. Later on, the same white guy says: Ali took our noise personal and took it all out on our poor Chuck. [LoL for those of you who know and appreciate the joke there...enjoy] Ali said: there was no knock down. ...it was a push. And then proceeded to beat the brakes of...Chuck! For even thinking it was a knock down.

What a fight ! I am not a big fan of boxing matches but respect for the man Muhammad Ali , especially when he refused to go kill people, in the other side of the world , just because some politicians, (in other words , some bank employees, using an " hypnotic" speech , told that it was the right thing to do for "democracy', for "human rights " , etc ...He had the lucidity and courage to say " i won't ! You are my real enemy ...."! " Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un " .

Wepner was the dirtiest fighter that Ali has faced in his long career by far, along with Liston because of that eye burning incident. Also I have never seen Ali this much angry in any of his fights. You can see that he lost his cool against Wepner very badly.

My interest was with the faces of those people in the crowd watching the fight why were so much of them had sad faces angry ones too . Guess because Ali didn't get beaten. The dirty fighter and the unfair referee disappointed them .

I watch this fight that actually wasn't a knockdown Chuck Wepner step on Ali foot preventing him from moving back and losing his balance . It was this fight that Sly Stallone created the movie Rocky !

Actually Joe Frazier who lived in Philly, worked in a meat market, ran through the 9th St. Italian market routinely and was known to run up the Art museum steps from time to time. But Chuck is a better story I guess.
