Muhle R41 vs Yaqi Beast & Strop Shoppe Russian Tea

Nice blast from the past soap. I have the Strop Shoppe Salsetto and it’s one of my favorite soaps regarding performance and scent. I remember when I heard about the company going out of business and it seemed everyone was trying to grab the last of their soaps and I was fortunate to get the one I got even though I actually wanted a different soap from them (the name slips my mind). Great shave today sir.

Chris, love the content! How do compare the Yaqi Beast to he RazoRock SLOC? Is it that much more aggressive than the SLOC? I’m tempted to get the Yaqi Beast because of how much I love the SLOC.

Funny I've done this shave and I like the slightly less aggressive R41. The beast is also nice but seems to scrape a layer off my skin, maybe I'm pushing down even tho I really try not to

Excellent video. I just finished my first shave with the Yaqi Beast head earlier. I put it on my Edwin Jagger De89 handle with a Gillette Nacet blade. I also have the Muhle R41 with their handle. I have to say, the Yaqi gave me an amazing shave. My impression is that you definitely "feel" the blade more on the Muhle. The Yaqi did not feel aggressive at all, but got super close on the first pass equivalent to my Merkur 39C slant. I love the Muhle and it will see use, but so will the Yaqi. An incredibly smooth shave with only 2 passes. The Yaqi is hard to beat for the money.

Hey Chris, was thinking about grabbing the Rex Envoy based on your recommendation but I’m concerned that it might be too aggressive. How would you compare it to the Timeless Aluminum (which I have) in terms of aggression, build quality, and smoothness? Thanks in advance!

That Yaqi Beast is decent razor, definitely aggressive. I shaves off my 6 month old beard with it about a year ago.

You should try the R41 with the Yaqi top cap. I find that setup better than either razor on its own.

Love the Russian Tea wish they would bring it back.

As far as weepers go, aside from a styptic pencil or alum, I find that a tiny amount of Proraso Green pre-shave left on the area for about 5 minutes takes care of it very nicely. In my opinion, Gillette Silver Blues are about the best blades out there. I was thinking of taking advantage of that Amazon 3rd party offer (100 for about $16 or $17). I think the same seller and a few others are selling it for nearly the same price on Ebay. Blades are the cheapest way to enjoy different shaving combinations. I'd really like to see reviews of many blades we never see used. There's a bunch of different Treet blades and the Personna factory in Israel mades a number of different brands. If you go down the list on Tryablade.com or Razorbladesclub.com, there's a whole bunch that have never been featured on your channel and many others.

They both are aggressive razor which one between the two is the most aggressive yaqi is smooth and aggressive and r41 is not as smooth which one would you give the edge of more aggressive to

You preffer Yaqi beast to R41?. How about Yaqi flipped... You think is a mixed between r41 and R89?.

And what your opinion on shark blades? I don't I've ever seen you use them

Great video here is some advice throw the tv in the closet it has one job to do and that is to piss you off and it great at it I put my tv up for about 8 month a year only being brought out when Oklahoma university plays and green bay packers play and the Houston Texans play I use my tablet for movies and news that way I can control all my viewing content

Is this dude actually shaving anything or just scraping the lather off his face? If I use the same technique 90% of the whiskers will remain in place and a good amount of flesh will end up on the razor!
