HOLY CRAP... I can't with some of the comments under this video man. GOKU NEVER SAID HE WASN'T TRYING AGAINST GOHAN!! Only that his objective was not to "win", but to test his own strength against him. Also I don't think Goku can just "not try" while using Mastered Ultra Instinct. In terms of physical stats, Gohan is superior. In terms of hax and experience, Goku is better. However, you can just tell Gohan is the overall more powerful fighter. Not only are his punches more effective than Goku's own, Gohan is also able to completely bypass MUI's evasion hax while powered up. Its pretty consistent throughout the series that the one who has the better power, speed, and durability in a fight are usually the superior fighter.

In the start of the fight, Goku wasn't trying as hard to hit Gohan as much as Gohan was trying to hit him. He was really just gauging his power. I feel like theres still a debate if, if Goku dicided to go all out from the start.

Goku beats gohan. Gohan only got in one solid hit after massively amping himself and almost going berserk and having to control himself. And after that hit goku was perfectly fine and went on to fight gohan while not paying attention to him and focusing on broly. Goku than pushes going away without touching him with one hand and ends the spar there. Goku also wasn't trying to beat gohan and he didn't use his techniques.

I think Dragonball's biggest power leveling issue, is that there can't be power tiers between main villains and heroes. These characters can be interesting without being on the same scale as Goku & Vegeta. I'd argue that's what makes people like the TOP. Characters came back and fought on their own level. Even with the terrible power jumps Tien, Krillen and Roshi never became as strong as a Ssg, but still had interesting flights. Cell Max could have just been stronger than Gohan without being stronger than ultra instinct.

honestly, I don’t think Gohan has ever shown the grit to beat Goku. Gohan has never beaten an opponent on his lvl without outside interference. Which is typically is him seeing someone he loves hurt. The only time you could say he kinda did, is when he had a draw with Kefla. Gohan needs to be pushed to surpass opponents on his level typically, and the will doesn’t come on its own. Goku on the other hand, can push himself past his limits and surpass opponents when they’re on his level and beyond. Gohan on his own is soft, as in he rarely has the ability to push himself hard enough to beat strong opponents. Even in the Hero movie Piccolo had to pretend to hurt Pan to get him to beat Gamma 1. If that didn’t happen, as far as we can tell he would have lost. Gohan is over confident when he’s stronger than his opponents, which causes him to lose consistently. And he doesn’t have the the experience or grit to beat opponents that are on his lvl consistently. Gohan may be physically stronger than Goku, but I can almost guarantee he’d lose to him 10 times outta 10.

Gohan has more raw power, however Goku has more hax, skill, adaptability and battle IQ. Although more powerful, Gohan would lose in an all out 1v1. Let's not forget one important fact that Goku wasn't fighting to beat him, hence why he stayed defensive to test Beast's offensive capabilities against his MUI defensive, and to say that fight isn't close has to be the most disingenuous thing I've ever heard

Why does everyone think UI is a hax? It's only hax when Goku is far stronger than the opponent, but when he's against someone of the same level or stronger, it doesn't really do that much, it's just another power up form. Goku auto dodges here and there, but UI hax can be overwhelmed simply by just being stronger & faster. Ex: Jiren, Gas, Granolah, Black Frieza, Beast Gohan.
